Even though she made some room for her, she told her that she didnt have to tell her if she didnt want to, and by what she said she had a fairly good idea of what happened to her...For a split second she thinks she should take this advice...Her wounds have not healed at all afterall...It wasnt wise to dig too much into them right now. She took a deep breath and decided to trust Hazel for now and sat next to her on the bed, although she didnt lay but remained seated...Looking right in front of her.

"I'm only going to say as much as I can...It's...It happened over the course of barely 2 months, and it's barely a week old. For all that I know it's going to follow me there and..."

She took a deep breath. Not was not the time.

"...I joined high school for the first time 2 months ago. From the first day in, I got bullied. I had a couple of friends there, but they were far too concerned about what the other students would think about them if they intervened than actually taking my defense. Something...Horrible happened to me on the first day of school something..."

She paused for a second, her gaze losing itself in her thought before she snapped out of it.

"...I think I dont need to elaborate it. All that there is usefull to know was that it broke my spirit and my heart...The only friend I made on that day died...She was murdered and her body was found in a pool. There was no magic involved yet...But I was already broken thanks to what happened that night...Those who tried to call themselves my friend...They finally went to take me out on a trip after I barricaded in my room for an entire week...That's on the trip that we were face to face with the first creature...It was hideous and strong...Too strong for us. We ran away but I snapped a picture of it first...I...Was willing to do anything so I wouldnt have to think about me...And the perspective of finding a solace by studying the supernatural was everything I could do at the time...But the monster came back to recover the picture I took from it...He even kidnapped other kids of my school that saw him...So we had to go after it...To save them..."

She sighed and held her head...

"We walked straight into a trap...No one wanted to go, but I wanted to. I wanted to find magic...I wanted to see it was real...So maybe...Maybe it could take me away from my life..."

She started sobbing softly

"If only I knew...If only I knew..."

Hazel nodded as she listened, taking mental notes. Okay, the evil being that she took a picture of must have been a ancient evil spirit or something, given what she said earlier. Well, she could certainly relate to that a bit, as they were both the cause of other's deaths for selfish reasons. Though she wasn't sure if Agatha's was worse or not.

"Well, we can't change the past, but I understand a bit."

She scooted over, kind of sitting next to her and patted her on the back. She would have said or done more, but she didn't want to turn this back onto herself. While Hazel refused to show emotion, this girl obviously needed to as a way to cope. And Hazel would be happy to help comfort her. However, she cursed herself for not making sure Haru was here. Haru would definitely know what to say to help make things better. For now, she turned the patting into rubbing, hoping that would help make her feel a bit better.

Agatha let out a couple of hiccups but calmed down quite quickly. Her eyes looked bitter and and she was frowning. She was swallowing her regrets and went back to her usual apathy. She gave a weak smile when Hazel patted her on the back as she finally replied.

"Thanks...But this is not even close to the parts that made me like this...However I think...I think that's how far I'll go for now...I'm sorry."

She hunched herself again, her eyes lost in her thoughts before adding.

"I dont know if I mentionned it to you, but I am capable of photographic memory. Every instant, everything I see is catalogued in my head forever, and I will always remember it."

She joined her hands and looked at her feets.

"And this gift sure is a curse, when all I can remember is the bad times. Over, and over, and over...There are no ends to those terrible memories...And I can never forget them."

"No, that's alright, you don't need to go into things."

It felt a bit weird to be patted on the back. But that might just be all the times Haru patted her on the head. It wasn't really anything bad, just being used to being treated more like a kid from Haru. Hazel did notice that Agatha was avoiding eye contact. Probably with everything she remembered.

"Well, if it helps, there is ways to get your memories erased here on the island. I say this with hesitance, cause losing a large memory like that could have some consequences. And you know, it's expensive. I also think it's morally wrong, so I won't help pay for that."

She turned, standing up next to the bed. As Hazel did, it did occur to her that the girl with the photographic memory would definitely remember the layout of the city and the house very well. Wonder if it applied to other things or just pictures and whatnot.

"For now, let's get our minds off of things. Usually baking helps for me, but since I have way too much cheesecake, how about we do a bit of sewing or something? Oh, and since you are starting, can you make some tea please?"

Agatha shook her head when she said she could erase her memory. She seemed to have given some thought about it as well

"No you're right. It never solved anything to supress memories, only to commit the same mistakes over and over again. But I wish I could destroy the images I have associated with those memories. Like some just remembered "getting to work on monday", without remembering all the excruciating details...It's fine anyway Hazel...I wouldnt have wanted you to pay for it...The truth is, I had the opportunity to forget but I choosed not to take it. There is a reason those who try to forget whatever is painfull to them end up always confronting those memories later."

Hazel mentionning getting to cooking made her snap out of it though, it took a couple of seconds prior to this moment, but she finally regained her composure.

"Of course, I'm going to take care of it right now."

She got up and said

"Do you...Do you need a hand getting up ?"

She didnt know if she wanted to do it herself or use her magic, either way if she replied positively she would. In both case she would head down to the kitchen to make some tea.

"You can just guide me to the studio. I don't usually have my prosthetic leg on when working in there. Er, well, I say guide, but it's more of me leaning on your arm or you picking me up. I'm assuming you won't be able to straight up lift me. No offense, of course. But uh, yeah, help would be nice."

She wanted to float, which was probably a bit obvious. But several people had specifically warned her that she needed to keep walking unless she wanted her good leg to become a useless good leg. Which meant if Hazel would to ever be hit by a power nulling spell or bracelet again, she would be a useless lump of white hair.

"So, uh, if you would lead the way there, that'd be nice... Oh, and thank you."

Agatha blinked a bit, but smiled. She may not be much taller than Hazel, but she was bulkier thanks to her weight.

"Oh no, I definitively think I could carry you down if needed. I just...Well it's not really something I'd do without thinking, it's kind of disrespectfull if you dont ask for it first. But if you feel like it, I can carry you down."

She offered her shoulder and her arm to Hazel and walked her to the stairs. Something had been bothering her for a while now, but she couldnt quite put her finger on it...As they reached the first steps down it finally hit her.

"Say, tell me if I'm wrong but, your power makes you able to create very complex and moving ice figures right? I mean, the owl was impressive, it could really fly and behaved like a normal owl, so you can also bend the shapes of the ice to make them look like real live creatures am I right ? Is that within your powers?"

Her ways of asking questions were carracteristic of a bookworm

Hazel leaned on Agatha, basically hopping to keep up with her. The arm had been quite helpful, and Hazel was quite thankful. She opened the door in the back, with a staircase leading upstairs to the second floor. As they paused, Hazel was able to catch her breath a bit, listening to Agatha's question.

"Well, I can use it to create other animals. However, they aren't alive." A little ice owl will appear, landing on Hazel's finger. "I control what it does. It's kind of weird to describe.... Like one of those remote control cars or something, just with my mind and with an ice owl. Though, I just use an owl cause I think owls are cute. Basically my only reason."

She poofed the ice owl away, looking up at Agatha. "But uh, if you can carry me up the stairs, then that would be preferred, yes." Hazel would then let Agatha carry her whatever way Agatha wanted to.

Agatha nodded and hopped Hazel in her arms as delicately as she could before climbing up the stairs. She didnt do it effortlessly, though she hardly broke a sweat doing so. One of her hand secured her shoulder against her chest and the other holding her by the waist.

"Oh, it doesnt matter that they are not alive, what's important is that they're life like. I mean, your owl seems to have no problem flying, wich mean it can reproduce to near perfection every single movement of it's muscles that produce the effect of flying. That's rather impressive when you think about it."

She was taking magic from a very practicall, very scientific viewpoint. Once they were up the stairs she gently helped Hazel on her feet again and helped her walk to wherever she liked to go.

"What I mean by that is, provided you can create any shape you want and animate it in such a complex fashion...Why dont you create a leg made of ice to replace your missing leg ? Surely, animating such a simple joint compared to the incredibly complex flight of an owl would be a synch for you. You wouldnt need a prosthetic leg anymore and this leg of ice would behave like a completly normal leg on it's own. This way you could train both of your limbs without need for external help and wouldnt have to worry about losing your good leg, or limping ever again. Heck you could even run. In fact it would be better than anything you could get."

Ah, that's what she meant. It was quite a smart idea, in theory. Hazel could easily have a leg that could do that. As she was carried, though, it was clear that Hazel felt a bit embarrassed being carried this way. It was like Agatha was carrying a baby in some ways. Except Hazel wasn't. Though, she was definitely on the lighter side.

"Well, yeah, but there's some problems. The first is ice touching my bare leg. Not immune to the effects of ice and how cold it is. But that can be an easy fix. The second thing is my magic itself. My ice constructs can only be a foot tall, max. So, I have to combine several to make the movable leg. I have tried it, though. Which leads to my next problem, which it is so weird to walk like that. It'd be like having to think about ever single muscle moving in leg to get it to walk. Finally, it was so fucking exhausting just to keep the leg around for like 10 minutes. Might be something worth trying in the future, though. I might give in and try getting a mechanical leg though."

As they reached the top of the stairs, they were greeted with a view of manikins everywhere. Most of the top floor was her studio, with scraps of clothing, finished designs, sewing tools and materials, and manikins everywhere. The left wall was full of different pictures of clothing designs, while the right wall had a bunch of post-it notes with different commissions separated into two categories. Done and not done. Near both of those walls were trash cans full of thrown out papers. Finally, overlooking the backyard was a rather large window with a pretty great view. New that window was a small bed to sit and look out the window.
