Amore took his arm, slipping her hand into the crook of his arm right by his side. The sleeves of the jacket was quite a bit further past the tips of her fingers, so her hand was dry since it was his jacket, not her hand, that was pressed up against his wet T-shirt.

At his comment she almost became angry, but then she realized he was only jesting, so she grinned. "Weeeelllll," she drawled, "it is a nice jacket...."

(Its a dress shirt, not a t-shirt, like with buttons at the front, long sleeves and tucked in the pants.)

He smiled as she placed her hand on his arm. It was all familiar to him, movements long since forgotten in the lower society. It used to be the way of things, but now everything had changed. Everything was more vulgar and a lot was unbveiled. The world had shrunk but the number of humans did not.

Having not noticed the slight anger that marred the young woman's face for a moment, he continued his friendly talk as she answered.

"Indeed, it is one I bought recently. The seller told me it brought out the color of my eyes."

That was simply useless conversation, but what a greater way to start a timid conversation than small talk?

"Personally, I think all that was just to get me to buy the coat." He said. "Its a good thing I liked it."

((Oh. Sorry.))

Amore laughed softly at his words. "That is a good thing!" She smiled up at him.

She watched as the rain gradually began to lessen in speed and soon was sprinkling again. The fresh rain smell was in the air, and Amore inhaled deeply and then sighed in contentedness.

"Ah, how I love the scent of freshly fallen rain!" She said softly.

She was of course right, the scent of the air after the rain was something he himself was fond of. He took a discreet breath of the wet air, filling his lungs with the freshness of it all. Of course, he would not go overly admitting he liked that. It sounded a bit girly.

''I agree with you, the atmosphere is rather pleasant.'' James replied.

He smiled back at her and he continued onwards, he hoped to walk in a large circle, so they would eventually come back to their starting point. It would do a perfect lenght for a walk in the forest.

''I like the open door air, stuffy rooms tend to give me headaches.''

Amore could agree with him. She didn't like them either. The air usually stank from one thing or another, and she prefered wide open spaces where she was not confined between just four walls, but could walk on and on. She smiled at nodded.

"Yes, I can agree with you on that."

She released his arm and took off the jacket, holding it back out to him. "Thank you." She had been getting slightly heated in it.

At least she was dry, which could not be said of him. He was completely wet. He took back the jacket she had worn, a small smile on his lips.

"You are most welcome." He replied with the same small smile.

He left the leather trench coat across his arm and took one of her hands in his own before lying a small kiss on top of it. Allways the gentleman.

"Feel free to ask for my coat any time. As long as you give iyt back in a timely manner." He continued with an hint of teasing in his voice.

Amore, now knowing he was teasing her, laughed, her fangs showing. She shook her head at him.

"Oh, what must I do to earn your trust, kind sir? What must I do so you may know I would never steal your coat?" She put her hand over her heart and feigned anxiety.

She dipped her head, letting it shake in a sad way.

James laughed as well, letting the sound echo through the forest. He let go of her hand, and then decided to act all dramatically.

"Oh!!! But I can never know what hides under such a beautiful face, malevolent intentions no doubt." He replied with as much fake drama as possible.

Of course, it wqas evident all that was only fake and no more. He actually didn't think she would actualy steal it. There was no reason to. He was sure she had a coat somewhere in her own rooms.

"It would break my heart to be separated from my coat!!!" he said, an amuseed twinkle in his eyes.

Amore smirked and rolled her eyes. He was too funny. She shoved his arm softly. "You are too dramatic, sir."

She reached out and touched the fine coat. "Though, if I had a jacket quite like this, it might also break my heart if someone took it." She teased.

He smiled, he had forgotten how laughing felt or being happy for that matter. It had been far too long since he had been relaxed enough to let himself find something funny. He was a lot more blased than he used to be. He faked being hurt by the teasing shove of his arm and gave her a mildly hurt look. The smile on his face said otherwise though.

"You wound me madam." He replied.

He playfully poked her shoulder, just hard enough for her to feel it but not heard enough to actually hurt at all. He usually was more careful or laid-back, but he felt at ease around the much younger immortal. He looked down at his coat when she talked again.

"It did cost me three hundred dollars."

Which was nothing of the fortune he had accumulated over the years. He had been born in a place were gold and jewels had no value but were offered as birthday gifts, wedding gifts or just plain old gifts... and well, he had 2471 years of them.
