Two Heads Are Better Than One ...... Sometimes

Sera suggested the two of them should go out; they hadn't been out to the town since they arrived. Her sister was more of the 'going out type' - dancing, flirting. Tirrana was never very good at the latter. However, she finally came round to the idea of having a night out. She let her blonde hair out of it's usual loose pony, letting it fall down her back in it's natural, wavy style. Unlike usual, she actually put an effort into putting make-up on. Nothing too noticable; eye shadow that is slightly darker than her skin and pale pink lipstick. Sitting at the bar, Anna ordered a drink. "Peach schnapps, please."

She looked around. She knew exactly what would get her talking - booze - but she didn't like getting drunk. It made her unpradictable, wreckless. She and her sister shared one liver, that meant that if Sera got drunk, so did she. It was like a person drinking twice what they were supposed to - that is why she usually stayed off the alcohol. What could she say? "I don't know. I'm not like you."

Her mother had always told them that being sisters was the closest bond they would ever had. Anna never knew if she meant that literally, because they shared a body, or not. She always thought that her strongest connection would be with the one she loved - her true love. Though she did love Sera, they had almost nothing in common, and she hated how Sera seemed to look down on her because she wasn't a social butterfly. She took a small sip of her drink and looked around. There was no one there she knew - which wasn't surprising. "Well, why don't you go make a friend then?"

"I'm trying. I'm not like you. I don't radiate confidence." In a way, she envied Sera. Most boys liked her; most girls wanted to be friends with her; and Anna felt like she was more of a burden on her sister's life than a friend. She was literally always there, and that is spending too much time with someone. Sera could probably walk up to anyone in the bar and they would instantly like her, but for Anna, it took time.

Her sister was starting to sound like one of those pamphlet a guidance counselor would give you. She went over to the dance floor with her sister and swayed a little; dancing was hard work when you only controlled half of a body. Giving a little laugh at what Sera had thought to her, she gave a small, timid smile and looked to her foot. It was moving at a different time to Sera's - Anna thought it must look like they were having a fit or something. This isn't working. Can we just sit and have a drink, she thought to her sister.
