They'd sparred often, but today was different. He felt distracted, a thought had been forming in the back of hid mind since Sylvi's return. He still managed to best her this time, bit was less proud of the victory.

He'd help her up. "You did good," he'd say, his smile a bit less bright than usual. "Should consider getting a shield of your own," he'd say with a chuckle.

Hakon would look at her a moment before speaking. "Sylvi....can I ask you something?" @Big Jeffe

Sylvi let Hakon pull her up after their sparring match. It seemed that that little trip had taken more out of her than she expected. Hakon had fought well, and though she hated to admit it, He had earned the win.

She shook her head when Hakon suggested she get a shield. "Ha! Sigurd is more than enough. Perhaps one day though." She joked, grabbing her water bottle and taking a few drinks. "You fought well today, Hakon. Good win."

She tilted her head when Hakon said he wanted to ask her something. The last time he'd asked that she had let slip that she thought he should have stayed dead. Or at the least, stayed in Valhalla. "Of course. What do you need?"

He took a moment, considering how best to go about it. Ultimately he decided to jump right into it. "Do you trust me?" a simple but rather powerful question.

"It's just....you don't ever seen to ask me for help or anything like that," she'd say, clearing his throat. "Plus you sometimes seem a bit closed off when it comes to some things."

In truth he felt a tiny bit awkward asking this, but he felt like he should talk about it to her.

Sylvi stared at Hakon for a moment. Before starting to laugh. "Of course I trust you! What kind of question is that?" They were stuck here together, so they kind of had to trust each other after all. Even if Hakon was a trouble maker.

She rolled her eyes when Hakon said she never came to him for help. "Hakon, do you forget I am here to watch over you? I am more than capable of handling things on my own. It has nothing to do with trust." Of course, she also wasn't about to stoop to asking the child of Loki for help if she needed it. She was the daughter of Thor, after all.

She blinked in confusion at being closed off when it comes to somethings. Sure, she might not understand mortals, and sure she may be ignorant of most things, having grown up in Asgard. But that's why she was taking classes at the academy. To Learn.

"We all need help sometimes Sylvi," he'd say, "even you." He'd grab his own bottle of water and would quickly chug it. "No one's perfect, even a goddess like you," he'd say with a snort and a chuckle.

He'd roll his eyes. "I'm doing just fine thank you very much," he'd tell her, "my grades are good, I'm considering going to college, if I don't I'm still looking at good jobs to get after I graduate from high school classes."

Hakon would toss his empty bottle of water in the trash. "Hell, even I occasionally will ask you for help with things," he'd kill at her a moment "but....you never ask for help, why?"

Sylvi rolled her eyes. "Yes, and I asked for help when I was getting adjusted to the island." She said, setting down her water. "I would say that on the whole I have adjusted fairly well in my time here. Surely you would agree with that?" She said, bristling when Hakon said no one was perfect. Maybe not, but she would strive to be.

"I told you, I do not need your help because I can take care of most things on my own. And in the past when I have asked you for help in the past, you were a little less then helpful." She said. She considered it to be a part of his nature as a trickster, so she didn't really hold it against him, though.

"You do not need to worry about me Hakon. It is nice to know that you are there if I need it, but I am fine." She wiped some sweat off her brow. "But if you are that worried, you will be the first one I will go to if I have any questions. Agreed?"

"Yeah....you've adapted well for the most part," he'd say, picking up on her bristling, and how she was dodging certain things. "I just....kinda worry," which he wasn't a worrier, but he couldn't help but worry about her.

"Less than helpful?" he'd ask with a squint. "I've teased but I've always helped." In fact he's never not helped. "Like with the secret santa thing, I teased over the furry thing, but I helped you decide on a gift."

He'd tilt hid head. "Will you though.....I feel like you've avoided doing that for the most part," he'd cross his arms. "Have you?"

"Right. You only helped me after you had had your fun." She huffed. He couldn't stop and help her on his own, without constant teasing at her expense. No wonder she didn't go to him for help.

She raised an eyebrow at him when he asked if she'd been avoiding asking for his help. "Of course not." She answered with a frown. "And even if I was, what would it matter?"

"Yeah, I tease, and I'm pretty sure you like it," he'd say with a snort, "it's not like you dont poke at me." He felt like they weren't getting anywhere with this convo.

He'd sigh. "Yes it'd matter," he'd say, "you're my friend, and.....I want to help." He'd shrug, it seemed simple to him, he didn't understand why she was being so stubborn with this.

"So...if you're avoiding asking me for help....why?"

Sylvi sent a glare at Hakon when he mentioned teasing. "If there is one thing I certainly do NOT enjoy, it is your childish antics. Teasing being among them!" She huffed.

She let out a sigh when Hakon pressed her on why she wouldn't just tell him why she didn't ask for her help. Why couldn't he just let this go? "Humph. Perhaps being blunt would be better. Aside from the teasing, among your other antics, I would simply rather not have to rely on the aid of a child of Loki." Maybe now Hakon would let it go.
