Vannie giggled. "Thanks plenty, dearest!" She said. She grabbed mascara, eyeliner, purple and white eyeshadow, blush, powder and lip gloss, and layed them on a small table. "You're gonna be boo-ta-mouse, dahl!!" She said brightly.

What were they saying!? Kole was hearing words that wouldn't be found in any dictionary. She really didn't understand them. She could sense it now; she was being shunned. But why? Kole liked the way she looked, but she thought trying something new would be great. She just wished she would look better than before when this was all over. She felt the brush now stroking through her long black hair. "Umm...okay..."

Shiloh continued to brush through her hair until all the knots and tangles were out of it. He grabbed a hair tie and pulled it back so none of the makeup would get into her long locks, deciding they could work on her hair style later. "What would you like us to do with your hair? It's a bit long if you ask me. Black is so plain, too... want us to cut it and put some streaks in it or change the color?" He looked to Vannie, again for approval.

Vannie nodded in approval as she looked up. "Yes, maybe a feathery cut?" She suggested. "Or some curls?" She brushed the eyeshadow-applicator across Kole's lids.

What to do with her hair? She had absolutely no clue. Her hair was always a mission to do. Normally she would spend fifteen minutes at a minimum to figure out what to do with it, only to leave it down in the end, which was a total waste of at least fifteen minutes of her time. What a bummer. She liked the idea of a cut, for that reason. "Curls are nice..." she said.

"Curls are nice..."

"Wonderful choice, dahling!" Shiloh said, patting her shoulder. He grabbed a curling iron and began running it through Kole's hair. "You can do so much with curls...." The eighteen-year-old let out a dreamy sigh; it was too bad that his hair was too short for curls. "I'm Shiloh. And what's your name, dearie?"

Talking in salons was normal, so why not some place more sophisticated?

Vannie patted her curls. "They're fantasticubulous!!" She exclaimed. "Keep still, dahl. I'm going to put some mascara on you now."

She could feel the heat of the curling iron on her hair, then had to be completely still trying to keep her eyes open to allow the girl to apply the mascara. This all felt weird to her. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all. "I'm Kole..." she answered when the boy asked for her name.
