He looked at the markings, "How do you know to make the markings?" He asked blinking, it didn't make sense in order to make a pillar like this the earth must be made into these symbols or else it would just collapse.

He thought for a moment and rose up dirt just standing there not in any shape or form but more of a sand ball, "Now visibly show me how you did this" He said wanting to see if she could see for herself she was making these signs

"It doesn't make sense...you should obviously know whether or not your casting these signs." He said thinking. It would be kind of hard to teach someone who cant even realized they mastered something.
