This was embarrassing. If he had only restrained himself a bit more during school, this would not have happened. That was his mom's fault for bringing him to this place anyway. She should have warned him about how to act around humans and what to expect with any relatives he encountered. Now the school was saying that if Rei continued to behave how he was now, he would keep getting into trouble. Only recently had a teacher told him that he was on his way to Juvie Island. That was what convinced him (and his mom) to seek out a therapist, and it was why he was sitting in the room now. Right on time.

Biting down on his bottom lip, Rei sighed, wanting to rip the bandage off of this wound as fast as he could. He leaned so far back into his chair that his chin almost rested on his chest. How did these things go? He imagined laying on a sofa-bed while some doctor in glasses jotted down notes for every sentence he spoke, but this was different. Different in a better way, he supposed.

His initial plan was to stay as quiet as possible. Give no answer. Guard his walls and never let them break down. Although, that did not last long. He hated the silence, so there was time for a change of plans. Now Rei wanted to get the first word in. To establish who was in charge here. "What did the school tell you?" Rei's tone was sharp and quick to the point. He would not allow himself to be pushed over during this. This session was for him. He deserved the control.

Vinna sat there in a soft office chair while she waited for her young client to speak. Doubting that young Rei would care to use Vinna's name for the first little bit of their visits she would wait until Rei spoke first. She turned to make sure that her note pad and pen were within easy reach for when things were done but Vinna didn't like to begin writing anything in front of her guests. It usually made them self conscious and anxious about what she might be writing down. When Rei did speak up in a sharp to the point way Vinna just gave a soft smile and looked back to the young one.

"They only told me that I would be seeing you every now and again for a little bit, anything else they might have said was irrelevant as that could have ruined our first interactions." Keeping her posture and voice friendly and calm she moved some of her long shiny white hair over one of her ears. "From what I can tell just as of this moment, I'd say that you got into a fight with someone. You don't have to answer this next question if you don't want to, but I want to hear in your words what happened." Vinna let the air begin to grow the tension of a small room with two people being absolutely quiet to grow. Rei seemed nervous to have the silence around so until they said what happened or told her to 'mind her own business' she was going to wait. She had all the time in the world to do so.

Rei could not argue with that. A part of him was disappointed that he had to start from scratch. This session could have been easier and quicker if she already knew everything that was going on. Although, Rei preferred being able to tell his own story instead of someone else doing it for him. The alternatives were worse. For all he knew, they could have given him a therapist that could read his thoughts or understand his emotions before he could. That, or let someone else tell the story and make him look bad.

Leaning back further into his chair and crossing his arms, Rei would glance away from Vinna, try to make eye contact, look away again, and repeat this for what was about half a minute. He had already been in plenty of arguments by now, so it took him a minute or two to figure out which one she meant. "It wasn't that big of a deal. I didn't mean to start a fight. It was only an argument. I just got annoyed with a classmate about something she said and called her out on it. I don't really remember her name... or what I said... but it was about humans. Rei knew that lying in the first session was probably a bad idea, but the more he spoke about the argument, the more frustrated he became and less willing he was to speak about it. He knew that the girl's name was Ianua, and he knew exactly what he said to her and what she said back. Giving out her name and every word they exchanged seemed pointless to him, anyhow.

Vinna simply listened to Rei, she did not move her head much other than to gently nod and simply let the young one speak his mind. If she interrupted him or if he thought she was not interested in what he was saying than he would probably shut down and nothing she could do for the rest of their sessions together would help in any way. When Rei finished Vinna. "Do you know what this girl said that might have set you off about humans? Like did she say something along the lines that 'humans are superior' or was she degrading others who are human?" Vinna let that sink in for a moment before she continued.

"Now, something else I want you to keep in mind as we talk about this. Are you ashamed of your natural body? Are you using magic to help you mingle with the other students or to run from what you are underneath the magic?" Vinna's words were not meant to harm only to bring the subject up, to let Rei think about those prospects. Even Vinna's tone was almost sad as she said those questions. Being honestly worried that someone as young as Rei would be having this kind of problem.

Rei already had a response in mind for Vinna. That the girl only mentioned that she wanted to visit the human world someday and how humans had it easier. What really got a reaction out of him was Vinna bringing up his body, however. The sudden change of topics felt like a slap in his face. "No! I'm fine with my body. I use glamour, but it's just easier to move like this. I can fit through doors and sit in desks. Even my cousins use it. And why do you think I'm ashamed? Why did you think I had problems with my body anyways?"

Rei's eyes locked strictly onto Vinna's. He wished he was more cooperative with the earlier subject. It was easier to respond too, at least. Now he was struggling to think up a proper response to the woman. Did she lie to him? She said she read nothing, then jumped onto this like she just knew. Rei knew he was probably being overly paranoid, but he refused to step down now.

Rei's voice increased in volume as Vinna could only assume that this was going to be a very sensitive topic for today. All she did was ask them to keep it in mind as they talked but Rei wanted to bring it into the foreground and talk about it directly. It was, a little unfortunate for the young Rei. Anything Vinna would try to say now about it to move to a different subject would only force a barbed arrow to move in the wrong direction and lengthen the process of him healing. With a deep breath to let Rei know she was going to speak Vinna kept her voice calm and level, simply explaining what she meant rather then raising her voice to match. That would only create conflict and they were here to fix that. "I only asked for you to think internally upon this. But a larger percentage than one would think of shape shifting creatures sometimes end up hating or being ashamed of what they actually are."

Vinna pointed to the corner of one of her eyes as she kept eye contact up with Rei. "My eyes allow me to see how people actually look, though with a few size differences if they needed to shrink down to fit. I wanted you to think on this to come to a conclusion as to how you feel about your own body. Now I suppose I should ask this as a follow up since we are talking about it up front. Do you change back to your Original Form when at home? Or did you change your home to fit more into your Glamoured Self?" Vinna's tone was that of caring and worry. A voice that wanted to help, in a way she was asking Rei if he would let her help him by talking with him. Vinna could only hope that he would, if he closed down and wouldn't talk to her than he was going to be in trouble with the school sooner or later.

Was he being spoken down to? That was the feeling he was getting from her tone of voice. He could tell he was trying to help, but that was her job. What annoyed him was that she was trying to help him while speaking to him like some broken doll. A kicked puppy. A child who knew nothing about himself.

"I'm not ashamed of anything! It's easier to have legs. It's not even shape-shifting. It's glamour! Lots of people use glamour here. Why is it an issue if I use it? Having cephalopod limbs for legs is annoying here. The doors are too small, and people look at me weirdly. I don't think it's wrong when Dalia wears glamour to look human. It's... weird... but she doesn't hate herself." That was the general feeling Rei got from her. Dalia seemed mostly comfortable with herself and her nature as a predatory demon. It was something that made him uncomfortable around her, but he admired her confidence and how she used that to defend him when things turned sour. Rei felt bad, using her as a way to get into a social group that would not insult him. He was unsure if he said anything offensive towards her, but he knew he thought some things that would anger her or weird her out.

What the real issue was was how Vinna was able to see through his glamour. His thoughts made what he was about to say sound much angrier and powerful, but instead, he sounded offended and somewhat scared. "Why... didn't you tell me that? I take the glamour off at home. Our house makes it easy to move around. I only put it on when I'm outside."

"You'd actually be surprised how many non-human like beings become ashamed of their true self after extended time looking like a human. It is good that you are comfortable with your natural self, that along with your strong stance against it tells me that isn't the issue then." Vinna smiled gently as she spoke. This wasn't the first time that her gentle words had provoked this kind of response. Though this also did tell Vinna that she was going to need to be a lot less oblique in her questions and to help Rei face them head on. Let them have something to push against to let them grow. "Now, like you said before. What the person said about humans made you become confrontational. Has the topic about humans provoked this before or has this been the first time that it's happened?"

Rei had to take a few minutes to understand the response. Both responses. The first one confused him the most. He guessed that Doctor Summers was right, in a way. Rei had no human form though. Whenever he shape-shifted, he still had that octopus-like body and the same colors. There was no way he could pass for human, even with his glamour giving him two legs. All his glamour did was give him two legs. It was no big deal. Better than dealing with eight eight-foot long cephalopod limbs that were oversized compared to the small upper half of his body. And why would he want to look human? There are a hundred other things he could be that were wildly better.

Doctor Summers looked to be ready to move on, however. No point in responding if not even she wanted to continue it now. He rolled his eyes at her question before watching the door. There was no need for him to stay the entire time, right? He knew where his house was. His mom did not need to drive him everywhere. He could just leave and go home and continue this later. Or continue this never.

"It's happened before, but... it doesn't really matter..." He liked how she was talking to him like he was older and more mature, but some of the words she used made it hard for him to follow. "I won't bring it up at school anymore. There. Then it won't come up, and it'll be fine. Right?"

It seemed that Rei was at least now responding better to how she was speaking with them. But Vinna still needed to work this out with Rei before it could become a problem. "It's not just the fact that you were defending yourself or a friend Rei. It was the violence and aggression that has the teachers worried." Vinna let out a small quiet sigh as she tried to think of the words she wanted to use with Rei to let them understand.

"How about we try this for now. We'll schedule another visit here for next week, in that time I want you to make note of things that might build up to cause you to react outward again." Vinna reached over to her desk and pulled out a small note pad, small enough to fit into a pocket. "I just want to you carry this around with you. Let you write any thoughts or..." Vinna was about to say feelings but young boys didn't usually like to acknowledge them. "any actions that you would take when you get the rising feeling that you need to act out against someone. Okay?"

She smiled kindly at Rei, "If nothing happens than nothing happens and we can move on. But if something does happen than it is going to be up to you to be honest with me okay? I want to you have this responsibility between us. I'm not going to check in with the teachers, I won't read the reports of what happened in the week if something did happen. It will be up to you to tell me what is going on in your life and to let me know about it." Vinna wasn't going to expect anything for this first week though. She judged that Rei would feel guilty internally after the first week and they could work on the problem in a week or two after they reported in on what was going on with their school life.
