Violence and aggression? What violence and aggression? Rei was told he was blunt, rude, and... yes, aggressive, but that was only verbally. He was never violent. He never gave threats or tried to fight people. Rei considered himself to be a pacifist. No reason ever came up for him to learn how to fight people, though he had many reasons to learn how to defend himself.

"I'm not violent." Rei snapped. The sigh only attributed to Rei's anger. He tried to figure out what it meant, but it was like she was disappointed and pitying him. "I never did anything violent. Why do the teachers think I'm violent? I'm not aggressive either. I'm just blunt. Some people think I'm angry because of my face, but I'm not violent."

Rei stared at the notepad quietly, almost tempted to push it back and leave. It was obvious what word Doctor Summers was leaving out, but Rei saw no reason to point it out. "So... a diary? It looked plain. If Rei was going to carry a diary around, he wanted to make it look prettier. Later he wanted to buy a few packs of stickers to decorate it. "Okay... I'll keep it, I guess... What do you mean if something happens?"

"Violence does not only include the physical kind. Even verbal attacks can be dangerous to some. When defending yourself or others some could see a raised voice and shouted words almost as dangerous as a thrown punch or a well aimed kick. Just keep that in mind." Vinna still kept her own tone friendly as she had been doing most of the time during this visit.

"And yes, in a way it is a diary. Though I would have thought Journal might be more apt. You don't have to write down anything you don't want to. But what I mean is, if anyone says anything that would cause... well that would make you angry or more forceful, would be something that I would ask for you to write down." The biggest part that Vinna was hoping Rei would learn from this would be to reflect on their actions and learn from their own experience. "Now, is there anything you would like to ask me, or about me? Seeing as how we are going to be talking about you for most of these visits I see it as fare compensation to answer your questions if you have any to ask."

Any anger Rei felt was replaced by pure confusion. "But... I wasn't violent? I didn't tell them to die or that I wanted them dead. I don't like violence. I didn't think calling someone 'mean' or 'stupid' was like a kick. And I'm eight. If they think I'm going to hurt them because I said they're stupid, they have more issues than me." He crossed his arms at that. There must have been a misunderstanding, or the people here really were sensitive. Yes, he was told he was rude and blunt, but he was never told he was violent. Dalia was violent, both in the verbal and physical sense, and Rei never thought of himself like that. All he did was get into arguments, but usually, everyone left angry or offended. If there was any time someone left the argument crying, it was Rei.

"Diaries and journals are the same. They're small notebooks you put your thoughts in. And what if I'm in public? If I don't want people reading it, I can't write until I'm home." He expected Doctor Summers to want to look into it after a few sessions, but he had no intentions of letting anyone read his diary. It was going to be tucked away closely with him, and if there was no way to keep it with him all the time, he would keep it at home in a hidden area.

Rei looked back up at Doctor Summers from his journal. After being accused of being violent and forceful, he wanted to not look at her at all. Leaving could not be considered violent or forceful. Rude, yes, but Rei had no problem with being rude. The only issue was that his mom would probably think he needed to return for more appointments if he was so quick to leave.

"I don't know what to ask. Uh... You said you could see through my glamour? Or... uh... charm? Rei was still learning the differences between glamours and charms. What he had was a shape-shifting charm, but he liked glamour more. To him, it fit better, with the only things changing being his legs. A simple glamour would have been too messy with his cephalopod limbs. "Can you... turn that off? I don't really..." he shifted in his seat "like stuff like that. I don't like it used on me...

"Even if you do not intend something to sound violent or harsh, it is the person receiving those words that interprets them into their own meanings. Sometimes people, adults especially, can find some of the simplest things to be seen as hostile and threatening." Vinna tried to expand on her words, trying to help Rei understand what she had meant. But it was as simple as that, miscommunications happened a lot of the time and even if Vinna could only help in this one area she would have at least helped a small amount.

"Just write in it whenever you can, I don't expect you to stop everything you are doing just to write something down. But if you can schedule some time for yourself to give you a time during the day where you can sit down and dedicate some thought into the things that happened in your day." Keeping her voice informative and trying not to sound like she was talking down to Rei was hard, but doable. She felt like he was at least getting more comfortable talking to her, even if the subjects they were talking about were not to his liking.

When Rei brought up Vinna's ability to see through charms and glamours it did cause her to pause for a moment. But it wasn't long before she gave Rei a sad smile. "I am sorry Rei, I cannot do that. My eye's have been like this since the day I was born, as a Unicorn we needed such abilities to survive and it has simply hung on to my species ever since. And if I were to use an Item such as the power nullification bracelets that are out there, well I wouldn't be able to change into a more human shape to talk to you any more. At least not without some serious modifications to my office." That last part was hinted to be a joke in her tone. Something to try to help Rei feel a bit better. "I do apologize if it feels invasive Rei, if you want I will try to find a way to help for the next time you visit."

"Then people need to stop being so weak." He slid back in his chair, only partially mumbling that sentence. He continued to mumble when he said, "If I'm being simple and adults take it as mean, that's their fault." How was it any fault of Rei's if even the nicest of things he said was taken as a threat? Why did he have to be blamed for that?

Making a time for himself to write in his diary sounded simple enough. He still needed to keep it close, but it sounded kind of fun. It was like that planner he had to make for his classes, but instead of keeping track of his homework and daily assignments, it was his usual day-to-day life. Sighing, he nodded to the idea, then pushed himself back up in his chair to a more comfortable position.

Rei grimaced at Vinna's explanation of her power. He tried to stay calm with his response, since adults were so sensitive towards everything he said, apparently. "Why can't power bracelets take off only one power?" For everything the island had, not being able to target a specific power sounded weird. What if someone was a dragon and used one of their powers to take a human form? If they wore a bracelet, would they instantly revert back to a dragon? Would they just be a really weak dragon?

"What do you mean ways to help? Doesn't sound like you can do a lot..."

"Well it could be more than just the adults thinking this, i could be some of the students in your class. But again, all I know is that they want me to help you work things out. What those things are is something we shall find out together over the course of our talks together." Vinna kept her friendly smile as she spoke, she wanted to help in the best ways that she could. When Rei brought up why the power bracelets couldn't take away only one power Vinna shrugged. "It could be simplly something is incompatible with me personal, it could be that my powers of True Sight are tied directly into my Unicorn magic. There are a lot of possibilities."

"Well that's just the thing, You said you feel uncomfortable with me seeing through your glamour. Because of that I'm willing to put on the power dampening power bracelet and find a way to fit in this room in my true form so that way you feel more comfortable talking with me. Or let's say you would feel more comfortable with one of your parents in here we could do that. Another thing I could do is rearrange my office, make you feel more comfortable in this environment. All you need to do is let me know in what ways we can help improve your ability to relax in this space. Because I want this to be a space where you are able to rely on me more as a friend and someone to talk to than just some mandatory councilor you were supposed to be meeting. If that makes sense."

Rei let out a breath that sounded like a mix between a long sigh and an exasperated groan. He was done arguing. He was getting tired, and it was getting harder for him to think up more ways to fight back. A part of him was confused on what he was fighting back against now.

"That makes sense... I guess. I just don't want to..." annoy you, was what Rei wanted to tell her. Putting on a power bracelet that messed with her powers or rearranging the entire room sounded like more work for her than necessary. He may not like her, but nothing she did was mean or annoying enough to warrant all that work. She was weird, but everything was weird on this island, and so was counseling. Though she could have told him about seeing through his charm earlier or not said some stuff that annoyed him, but Rei had dealt with worse people than her.

He grimaced at the thought of his mom being with him during his sessions. "I can be alone. Mom doesn't need to be here." He was independent. Having his mom sit beside him was embarrassing. She raised him to not need her, unlike the other kids here. Her being here would ruin all of that.

"I'll just... deal with it..." He looked at Doctor Summers intensely. Each of his words came off more emphasized than he intended, but it did well to prove his point. "When I learn how to shape-shift, your sight powers won't work. That's what I'll do."

Vinna nodded. "If that's how you want things to continue." The unicorn turned to look at a clock, they had gone ten minutes overtime but Vinna didn't want to push Rei away if they still wanted to talk. However it did seem like things were coming to a natural stopping point with their conversation. "Well Rei, is there anything left you'd like to talk about today? It looks that scheduled time is over for our talk but I am willing to extend things if you'd like to talk about anything else before heading out."

Rei was getting tired. How long had he been in here? It felt like forever, but at the same time, like they had only been here for a few minutes. He followed Doctor Summers' eyes to the clock. Now his question was, how had he not noticed how late he was? At least he had nothing to do after this.

He stood himself up slowly, taking a few seconds to consider if there was anything else he wanted to talk about. "I don't think so," he responded, somewhat shamefully. He felt like there was still he should be wanting to talk about that he was just forgetting, but right now, his brain was fried.

With his head turned away from Doctor Summers, Rei told her in an audible grumble that devolved into what could barely be called whispering, "Uh... I guess... thank you for the talk or whatever..." before leaving the room.
