The Cafeteria
This is not normal, Annabelle thought. The Cafeteria
It was her first day at the academy, and, unlike all those years spent at Woodsville, there was no nervousness. No jitters, no dread. Nothing. Just a calm, empty feeling. And a hint of excitement for today. Yes, sure, she won't be taking any classes today, but that meant a lot of time to explore the place and maybe even get to know some people.
Which was something she was worried about the most. Since when did she become the exploring type? The meeting new people type? She was always the Shy Anna. Introvert Anna, who always kept to herself and people could see her only when she worked her shift at the town library. Quiet Anna, nice Anna.
There wasn't even a trace of that Anna left.
Maybe it's all because of the fact that I'm a vampire now, she thought, glumness seeping in for a few seconds. She had read in loads of books that vampires are dark, and cold. They're aloof, immensely beautiful and a whole lot mysterious. While Anna didn't believe that she is dark, or cold, or aloof, or beautiful, or mysterious in anyway, she was starting to believe that she's changing.
Can you believe I'm not afraid of starting a conversation now? In fact, she has already started plenty. She talked to a boy to ask directions for the washrooms. She talked to another freshman to ask about the course and syllabus. Heck, she even managed to get herself a job!
Mixed feelings swirling in her brain, Anna tore a piece of avacado toast and plopped it in her mouth, completely ignoring the miserable-looking poached egg in the corner. The cafe was mostly quiet and deserted, maybe because it was early in the morning on a weekend. Sitting alone, Anna chewed on the toast, silently making a mental to-do list for today.
@Saber - sorry for the cliche beginning, but I had nothing else on my mind rn xP
