The Cafeteria
This is not normal, Annabelle thought.

It was her first day at the academy, and, unlike all those years spent at Woodsville, there was no nervousness. No jitters, no dread. Nothing. Just a calm, empty feeling. And a hint of excitement for today. Yes, sure, she won't be taking any classes today, but that meant a lot of time to explore the place and maybe even get to know some people.

Which was something she was worried about the most. Since when did she become the exploring type? The meeting new people type? She was always the Shy Anna. Introvert Anna, who always kept to herself and people could see her only when she worked her shift at the town library. Quiet Anna, nice Anna.

There wasn't even a trace of that Anna left.

Maybe it's all because of the fact that I'm a vampire now, she thought, glumness seeping in for a few seconds. She had read in loads of books that vampires are dark, and cold. They're aloof, immensely beautiful and a whole lot mysterious. While Anna didn't believe that she is dark, or cold, or aloof, or beautiful, or mysterious in anyway, she was starting to believe that she's changing.

Can you believe I'm not afraid of starting a conversation now? In fact, she has already started plenty. She talked to a boy to ask directions for the washrooms. She talked to another freshman to ask about the course and syllabus. Heck, she even managed to get herself a job!

Mixed feelings swirling in her brain, Anna tore a piece of avacado toast and plopped it in her mouth, completely ignoring the miserable-looking poached egg in the corner. The cafe was mostly quiet and deserted, maybe because it was early in the morning on a weekend. Sitting alone, Anna chewed on the toast, silently making a mental to-do list for today.

@Saber - sorry for the cliche beginning, but I had nothing else on my mind rn xP

Blair would float in, glancing about as he made his way towards the food. He'd only eaten here once or twice and so had decided to come, less for the food and more to look for interesting people to talk to.

Quickly gathering a his food he'd let his tail hold the tray as he started to look for a seat and someone to chat with. As he went he noticed a cute girl sitting by herself and so floated on over.

"Hello there," he'd say, flashing a smile, "mind if I take a seat?"

Anna was debating on whether or not to touch the eggs when a boy approached her. She raised her brow slightly at the smile, taking the boy in. Tall, athletic and pale - but cute, with those emerald eyes and red hair. She decided to smile back. "Yeah sure, why not?" She gestured to the seat across her.

She was about to introduce herself when her brain stopped her. Would the previous Anna do that? Anna thought about it. Nomes, she wouldn't. She'd wait until the approaching person would introduce himself, then she'd think about letting him know her name.

Previous Anna was kind of weird, Anna said to her brain. But she waited anyway.

He'd float to the chair, taking the seat and flashing a grin at her. "You seemed to need a but of company," she was a cute girl, and he liked cute girls, "I'm Blair."

The half demon took a bite from his toast, chewing ahf swallowing it. "You knew to the island too?" he'd ask curiously, his tail slowly beside him, "it seems new people are always arriving."

Blair would chuckle. "I've explored some, but there's still a lot to see," he'd take a sip of his drink, "always some fun to be had."

He's cute, Anna decided. His tail was bit weird, of course - she was still trying to get used to all the supernatural stuff - but his hair...Would make Beth swoon, I swear. A charming smile was plastered to her face as she said, "I'm Annabelle. You can call me Anna. Or Belle. Or simply Blythe, if you prefer." For some reason, Anna really liked her surname. Blythe. It was unique and fascinating, a bit.

Anna nodded at his question. "Yeah, I'm new. Today's my first day - which is kinda weird because it's Sunday. What about you?" She tore a piece of avocado toast. Again, she eyed the eggs. Then just plopped the toast in her mouth.
