Paul sat upon the branch of one of the trees next to the lake. Well, actually, it wasn't Paul. It was, in fact, Corona. It was nearly dawn and Paul had fallen asleep hours ago. Corona, however, decided to watch the sunrise. Taking control over Paul's body, Corona watched the starry sky with admiration. The sun would be rising soon, and the peaceful chirping of the now-waking birds soothed his mind.

Corona only needed to sleep about once a week for around 7 hours. So he often had time to himself as Paul slept. How annoying it must be for humans to need so much sleep, he thought. He laughed to himself quietly, then stretched as he leaned back against the trunk of the tree. His left leg dangled off the branch as his right knee supported his arm that rested upon it.

Vara got out of bed and got dressed, she wanted to go to the lake and watch the sunrise. There was always some sort of feeling she recieved when she watched the sun rise and sun set. She walked down the staircase and walked through the front door of the academy.

When she approached the lake, Vara didn't notice that there was someone else at the lake. She kneeled down at the edge of the lake, she was close to the water, gently resting her hands on the water, not allowing them to sink through the glass like substance. Vara closed her eyes and waited for the sunrise to come which would be in a couple of hours.

It took him a while to notice someone else was nearby. From his position in the trees, it would have been difficult to see him. When he noticed someone else was there, he shifted to get a better look. He started to slip and didn't quite realize it (as this slip actually caused him to have a great view of whoever else was there), and by the time he did it would be too late.

Corona looked down as he noticed he was starting to slip. "Huh... wow, I almost fell out of the tree. How inconvenient that would have been. I could have really been hurt. Luckily-" He fell. He never fixed his position and slipped more and more until he fell out of the tree. He would learn just how inconvenient the fall was when he hit the ground at the base of the tree face-down, making a loud thud as he did so.

Varas eys snapped open, she lifted her hands out off of the surface of the water, dried them quickly on her cloak. She stood up, her eyes focusing on everything around her. "Who's there?" Vara called walking forward slightly.

She soon heard noise coming from the trees, she looked closely but couldn't see anything. Vara turned around to face the lake again and knelt down, this time to wait silently for the person or thing to show his or herself.

"...ow." Was all that he managed to say for about a minute. He sat up and wiped off his face, smiling that the worst that had happened was the slight bending of Paul's glasses. Hopefully he wouldn't notice. Whoever was there was definitely aware of him now, he realized. So he stood and turned towards where they were.

"I am here. Though, I used to be there." He gestured above at the tree he fell from. "I apologize if I startled you." He moved around his left arm, as it was slightly sore from the fall.

"I can't see you so how can I know if you were somewhere else?" she asked now standing up to face a boy rubbing his arm. "What happened to you?" Vara asked smiling slightly, now focusing on his facial features. "You still have dirt on your face" She said indicating on her own face so the boy would know.

"Who are you anyway?" She asked, an eyebrow raised and her expression now changed. Normally she would either have a lightning ball or fireball in her hand, ready to throw but Vara thought she would let the boy talk.

He tried getting as much of the dirt off of his face as he could, but didn't pay much mind to it. "Hrm.. I fell out of the tree. You see I was trying to get a better look at you, but I sort of.. slipped. Heh." He started to walk closer to her as the distance between them was slightly awkward for a normal conversation. He answered her question as he did so, "Hmm.. 'who are you, anyway?' he mimicked. Not many people introduce themselves that way. Did I startle you, perhaps? Either way, my name is Cor-" He stopped moving and talking and thought for a second. He decided it would probably be best to use Paul's name instead of his own. He hoped Paul didn't mind making a new friend. Oh well.. wasn't the first decision he made without Paul. "Paul. My name is Paul. May I ask yours?" What he didn't realize was that the sudden pause after already saying half of a name, then switching to a completely different name was slightly fishy sounding.

"No you didn't startle me, why would you want to get a closer look at me anyway?" Vara got slightly angry when she heard the 'stalkerish' boy mimick her which ended up in her eyes becoming black which was something she couldn't precent from happening. Her eyebrows raised again. Did he just stutter with his name?

"Cor-Paul? Oh well I guess most people have strange names in this place. I'm Vara" she replied, her eyes going back to their normal state, piercing saphire eyes. "Are you here to watch the sun rise?" Vara asked still looking at him

"Um.." He blinked. "You're a person. The only other one here besides me. General interest that I would try to see who you were, I suppose." He shrugged. Did her eyes just change? It was too dark to tell. Something about them was weird. She seemed a bit agitated, too. He adapted to this and noted her boundaries to prevent any further offense. Or at least, try to.

"Nice to meet you, Vara." He didn't comment on his 'strange name'. He sort of hoped that whole mishap would just... go away. "And yes, I was here to watch the sun rise. It really is quite beautiful on this island. The way the light shines off the lake is quite a sight to see. Have you witnessed it before?"

"Yes, I watch it whever i get the chance, I also watch the sun set." She replied, easing up. This person was no harm to her, unless he had powers. "What powers do you have? And before you ask, we have time to spare, so i'm asking a simple question" She smiled walking over to the closest trees and sat on the lowest branch, she made a fire ball and allowed it to linger in the air. "Just so we can see better" she added looking at 'Corpaul'.
