Allen grit his teeth. He hated this. He didn't like it when people had power over him. But the guitar... it had nothing to do with this fight! How could she want to harm such a poor, innocent, beautiful thing? "Fine. You're not fragile or vulnerable, though I think you are. And I'm not a pansy or a girly boy, but hey, it's a free country, go ahead and think I am." That was as much as he would compromise to save that poor guitar. "Though it's no way to show respect for a soldier, especially on the fourth of July."

Eyes narrowed. "Oh, I'll get it fixed, don't worry," he said. "I won't let a heartless vampire like you stand in the way of me having the only thing I can actually love." Alright, so it might have been a slight guilt trip. It was the complete truth, though, nothing more and nothing less.

Odette laughed. "YOU? A soldier? What war?" The last part she said sarcastically.

"Well, geez. You're cynical. Why is an inanimate object the only thing you can love?" She asked. It seemed kind of odd for her to be saying that, since she basically hated everyone and everything.

Eyes narrowed. "Revolutionary War, Civil War, and before that, a knight for England," Allen said. He believed he deserved nothing less than the highest respect for some of the horrors he had seen in battle. Sure, he didn't give others respect, but he didn't think they had done anything that deserved such a thing. "Anymore questions, Miss Nosy?"

He was silent for a few moments after she had asked that question. "You must be a young immortal..." he stated softly. "Either that, or you're ignorant of how the earth truly is. Life isn't rainbows and daisies... and one can't love when there's nothing deserving of love in such a disgraceful place..."

Allen averted his brown eyes, shoulders slumping somewhat in a sigh. No one would ever understand...

Odette raised an eyebrow. "So you're a vampire? Or no..." She felt slightly stupid. "Stupid blindness..." She muttered.

"I understand." She replied.

[OoC: I'm sorry. I couldn't resist.]

Allen shook his head. "No. No, not in the slightest..." he said. "Just immortal. Healing incident..." He rubbed his forehead. He wondered if it had been an accident or if Esme had intended for him to live forever. Either way, he wasn't exactly liking it so far.

"... You understand?" he asked, blinking. Wow. That was a first, and rather unexpected, too. Who would have thought a vampire like her would have actually knew what he was talking about?

"You don't seem happy about that." Odette replied. Not that she was exactly happy about having to live forever herself.

Odette didn't like the disbelief in his voice. "Yes. I do." She said, her voice taking on a slight tone of annoyance.

Eyes narrowed. "Seven-hundred-seven years of pain.... what? Do you want me to skip around the halls throwing flower petals from a basket in joy?" Allen sighed, rolling his eyes. He wondered why he hadn't found a way to end it yet. In his heart, he knew it was because he wanted to see if the world could become better, or if there would be any more fights or wars he could be in. Those always lifted his spirits. "Do you like being immortal?"

"Fine, you do then. Forgive me for not expecting that," the man said, rolling his eyes once more. Women...

Odette actually laughed. Though she had no idea what Allan looked like, the thought made her laugh. And not in her sarcastic, mean way. In a normal, nice way. "No, I suppose not."

Odette just grunted in reply to his comment. Men...

Allen blinked when she laughed. Wow, and it wasn't in a mean way, either. That, too, was surprising and unexpected. Women were so mood-swingy... biting your head off one second, rather pleasant the next. Couldn't they just make up their minds about how they wanted to act? "What are you laughing at?" he questioned.

Odette stopped laughing. He was such a mood killer... "Well, just the thought of you skipping down the halls, throwing rose petals...they'd probably put you in a straight jacket and cart you off to the nearest asylum." She told him.
