When Broen told Rory to bring her bathing suit to his new address, well Rory wasn't surprised. Hell, she even did it. Her shorts and tanktop hid a bikini and Lorelai was sure she'd regret it later, but Broen had surprised her last time and maybe he'd do it again.
Broen opened the door, wearing swim trunks and a towel over his shoulders. "Hey fangirl. Glad you could make it. Welcome to Casa de Broen. We have weed, beer, condoms, a collection of video games, a hot tub, a bed with bamboo sheets, porn."
He kinda trailed off and grinned. A step back and he was a good thirty feet into the living room, throwing his arms wide to let her see the place.
His enthusiasm was nice, enough to make her laugh off that silly fucking nickname. Rory stepped inside and looked around.
"Not a speedo type of guy, huh?" she asked, already stepping out of her shorts and stripping her shirt off.
She took twenty-five dollars from her pocket before moving passed him and clipping it into the waistband of his trunks. "Beer, definitely beer. I think we're both more amenable with each other when we're fuzzy-headed and I have a request today."
"Speedos, man. Those things pinch my balls." He was teleporting all over now, grabbing beer from the fridge, tossing the bottle caps, and moving over to Rory's side to hand her the drink.
"So what's up?"
Teleporting back to the couch, he leaned back against it almost seductively and waved his hand. "Bare your soul."
Rory figured the sudden influx of cash is what had Broen so giddy. She definitely needed a drink before this, so Lorelai lifted the bottle to her lips and made a face after taking a gulp. She'd tried a beer once as a small kid when her aunt let her have a sip. It didn't taste any better this time.
She shook her head. "You still have my powers," she said motioning with her bottle to his eyes. Rory plopped onto the couch beside him. "You have a better handle on what I can do than I do."
"Hm? Oh, yeah. I mean, I don't have your powers at full right now."
He took a swig from his beer and watched Rory curiously. She was being way more casual than he had expected. He felt himself tense up internally, wondering what she wanted. "Why? What's up?"
Well, if that level of subtlety wasn't going to cut it Rory was going to stop being subtle. "I want you to teach me what they do." And then Rory thought about it, turned so that she was leaning back on the couch instead of near him.
"You had the Alexandrian's powers too." Rory was suddenly feeling a little twitchy. She took another drink. "How did those work?"
Broen grinned and leaned forward, closing the gap between himself and Rory. "You wanna know about your powers? Figured. I was wondering when you'd break and come ask me."
He leaned back a bit and finished off his beer, setting the bottle down on the coffee table. "But, I mean. Our agreement is you pay me to talk about whatever I want. This is you asking for a specific topic. So I gotta ask. What's in it for me?"
Rory's lip twitched a little when Broen closed in. Yup. She knew he was going to do that. Because it was Broen.
"The knowledge that you were a good Samaritan?" Rory asked, trying to keep a straight face while she got up to pull some money from her pocket. She sat back down near him and pushed two hundred to his chest. "One hundred for each topic. Go."
"Nice try, fangirl," he laughed at the mention of being a good Samaritan. If she wasn't going to laugh at her own joke, he certainly was. Then she shoved money at him. "Well ain't that a shame?"
Broen grabbed Rory's wrist, pinning her hand to his chest. "I mean, $200 is okay I guess. But I mean, I'm not exactly wanting for money. Fine. You get a pass this time."
He let go of her hand and stuck the money in the pocket on his swim trunks. "So what do you want to know first?"
