There was a chill in the air, the sun just set, and Maarab walked slowly to the Community Centre, fascinated by the way the park lights reflected off the gently falling snow. Other than that he felt somewhat detached from his surroundings. He still kept an eye out, enough that he would not run into anyone, but he was mostly lost in thought.
The half-demon had been on edge lately, his father spitting anger in his head. Though the archdemon did not waste much time in harassing Maarab through their link, it happened enough to be agitating. To leave him brooding about home and what he'd left behind.
Maarab was almost to the centre when he noticed someone behind him, heading in the same direction. He turned to see who it was, putting on a casual grin and reaching for the door. He was planning to open it for them, not out of politeness, but because he still didn't like having a stranger at his back when his hands were full.
