The windy encounter

Soujiro walked outside and he felt the wind blow through his hair. 'This wind...I remember that time.' He walked out onto the courtyard, not knowing where he was going. He was deep in thought about something else. 'Set-suna...I miss you.' He felt hot tears run down his face as he kept walking onward. He stopped and wiped his face. 'I have to forget about her...for my sake...and hers.'

Sighing heavily, Claire walked aimlessly through the heavily populated courtyard. Even though she would have rather been in the forest at that moment, the Courtyard was one of the few places on the school grounds that she enjoyed. There was a certain, warmth in being there, even if there was nothing super special about the area. Looking around cautiously, she stopped dead in her tracks as she saw a familiar face coming her way. 'What was he doing here?' She though to herself as she shook her head lightly. Their first encounter had not been as fun as she hope it would have been. As she continued to walk, she decided to walk a bit more slowly then before, as hopefully the dude wouldn't notice her, but that was pretty much impossible.

Soujiro stood there, not saying a word as he remembered everything that happened at the other school...memories he absolutely had to forget. He then realizes that a girl was walking up to him...the girl from the roof. He walks up to her and stopped in front of her. "So, it seems like we meet again, huh? Let me be the first to apologize for leaving like that earlier. I just don't like when random things happen for no apparent reason, like that guy when he fell from the sky." 'I didn't want to get on someone's bad side on the first day.'

Seeing that her plan had failed, she sighed coldly as she looked at the guy in front of her. "Well, random happens on this island, and it always will." She stated coldly, looking away from him for a second. What was this guys deal about her. They had met for a few seconds, and barely even talked, and now it was as if they were best friends. Looking back a the boy, she gave him a cold stare before taking. "So, what do you want from me?"

Soujiro looked at her and her eyes were dead cold. This was someone that he needed to get on good terms with. Didn't need rivals already or could be bad for him to fit in there. Also, he always liked when a girl smiles. Though, that one statement made him just a bit irritated. "Well, I should probably get used to it then. *Chuckles* Oh, and you just seemed...interesting when I saw you on the roof that I probably want to have you as a friend...b-but I shouldn't get ahead of myself, so let me introduce myself. My name is Kurokawa Soujiro and I'm new here. *Extends hand*" Soujiro wanted to get to know this girl. She seemed...different. "

Looking at his hand, then back up at him, she wasn't sure if she really wanted to even be near this guy. Sighing, she rolled her eyes and shoo her hand. "Okay." She said coldly to his comment on his name, It was an odd one, but at the same time, so was most people's that had met. "I'm Claire Dayen." She said looking at him with her a cold glare. He seemed a bit too friendly for her, and even though he surely wanted to be her friend, based on his comment, she was unsure as to why it had to be her. "Yeah, I am interesting, like everyone else on this island." Claire said looking away from him, crossing her arms.

'Could I have made it worse with that lame introduction? Maybe I stop with the friendly talk and be real.' "*Looks at Claire with a straight face* Look, the reason I said you were interesting was the fact that you seemed different than some of the people that I've met in the short time span I've been here. To be technical, you seem like someone that I can get along with...mostly because you kinda remind me of myself a bit, especially with those cold eyes of yours. " Soujiro just spoke his mind, like he usually does. He didn't know if what he said was right or wrong, but it was what he thought at that moment.

Blinking a few times, before trying her attention back to the boy, she sighed lightly before replying to him. "I remind you of yourself? That's new." She laughed lightly as she cracked a small slime across her face. "So, let me get this straight." She paused as she thought of what to say for it to make sense. "You want to be my friend, because I'm more interesting then ever other interesting person on this island, and because I remind you of yourself?"

Soujiro kept a straight face. "Yes. You seem like someone who can't stand to be around others. Though, that could be how you feel about me right now, but still. I want to be your friend because I'm sure that I'm not the type of guy who will fit into a big group and hang out and have parties. I'm not that kind of guy. I like not being held down by people that I think will sooner or later turn their back on me and leave me to walk alone. I can tell that you think the same way by your body motion, your eyes, and the way you speak to me. You're like me...or, really, I'm just like you, in a sense. "

Nodding at his response, she was surprised to hear that he had partly figured her out, partly. He was clever in a way, as most people could care less how she felt towards others. "Yeah." She said before she looked away for a moment. Turning back towards him, she continued. "That's not all of it though, just so you know." She said coldly again. She was the same in a way though, as she wasn't the type of girl to go to parties or be with a bunch of unknown people. "I guess we kind of are, similar."
