Gabe reached the courtyard panting and drenched in his own sweat. There were beads rolling off his forehead and his hair was stuck to it. It wasn't a pretty sight but at the moment he couldn't really bring himself to care. He rested his hands on his knees and bent over trying to cause his ragged breathing to return to normal.
Even though he was quite fit, it had been a long enough run to catch up with William and the heat hadn't helped at all. He couldn't even understand how William had gotten this far ahead of him.
After Bill had left the café, Gabe had let out a long loud groan before running out of the place without a second glance at August or Sebastian. He hadn't even cared about the waiter who wondered where they were going and who was going to pay for the food.
"Bill, wait up," Gabe panted, running over to the boy. "Please. We have to talk about this, we can't just leave it like that...." He put a hand on his boyfriend's shoulder to stop him walking off. Poor Gabe just wanted to make things right. He knew he messed up majorly by not taking Bill's side against Sebastian. He wanted to try redeem himself and regain the boy's trust.
