Rowan Langdon stood facing his daughter, Evelynn. They were in a small clearing in the forest and bright sunlight shone through the gap in the canopy. "Right, we're here because I figured you should start training properly now. I've let you mess about with your magic for long enough and, while you're getting good and controlling and using it, you need better training."
Without any warning, Rowan threw a fireball in the direction of his daughter to see how she would handle it. It was only small and could be easily stopped by Rowan if she didn't know what to do.
