The room of royalty

Tucking his legs up underneath himself, Renly dropped sideways to lean on his squire in an affectionate sort of notion. It was too early to go to sleep, but did that really stop the prince? Not really. Water sounded nice, though, wine would have been nicer, one of the sweet reds from his home kingdom. Why didn't I snatch any up? He supposed he hadn't thought of that at the time, maybe he could send for someone to fetch him some in the future. Renly shook the thought away and checking the girl had left the room, wrapped both of his arms around Loras' waist, tucking his knees against him and murmuring something that was lost into the boy's neck.

Renly in all honesty wished he was braver half the time, Loras was six years younger than him and still a boy by a long shot, but he had the heart of a lion and Renly didn't think he'd ever seen him balk at anything. He pressed a wet little kiss to the boy's jaw, before falling away and onto his back. "Mayhaps we can do something to get out of here. I don't fancy working for anyone." He frowned, supposing Loras worked for him. But then again, was he ever paid for his work? Renly didn't recall. "Have I ever paid you?"

As soon as the girl left, Loras felt all irritation drain out, as well as all his energy. He had expended so much self-control trying not to whack the stupid creature with the nearest object, he felt like he had run for miles. Relaxing under Renly's weight, Loras pushed his nose into his Highness' neck, drawn in close by the arms around his waist. Closing his eyes, Loras enjoyed their moment together, whining as Renly kissed his jaw and dropped onto his back. Frowning, Loras stayed sat up, arching his back for a moment as he stretched in place.

"I don't particularly desire to stoop to robbery, but I will do what I must to get you to better lodgings." Perhaps he could find somewhere to acquire a sword, and he could enter in some type of competition. He had always won hand to hand combat battles back home, he didn't think that a human competitor would be too much of a challenge. Elves trained their whole lives for their one purpose, and humans seemed to just dabble around in whatever sounded interesting. Their purposeless wandering made him confident that he would be much more skilled. "Paid...? No. My pay is spending time at your side. I desire nothing more."

Humming to herself as she half skipped through the quiet and empty halls, she scanned every corner and inch of her field of vision for a vending machine. She knew that there wasn't one too far away from where their dorm was now, but she wasn't sure as to where exactly it was. Batting her eyes, she Scanned everything that she could lay her eyes on. "Oh come on where are you." She said to herself in a pissed off tone. She felt as if the vending machines were hiding from her. Coming to a left and right hallway, she stopped for a moment, unsure of were to go. "Great."

She sighed and shook her head as she was lost. Looking to her left, she decided that she would try that way first. Walking down the hallways, it was becoming almost a bore that she hadn't found one yet. Almost running down the left hall, she smiled at the sight of a brightly lit vending machine in the right corner of wall. Running up to it she jammed her money in the machine and got three waters. Two for them and one for her, or if they needed another. Pressing the button to get the water, she tapped her foot impatiently as she waited for the waters to drop down for her to grab. One. Two. Three. Smiling as she grabbed the three bottles, she turned around to make her way back to the dorm.

Robbery? Renly almost laughed, he didn't doubt that Loras would be awfully good at that, though. He was smart and light-footed and it'd take an awfully fast guard dog to catch a unicorn. That wasn't the noble way to go about things, however. Then again he supposed fleeing from your kingdom and leaving your people to rot wasn't all that noble either. He frowned, on the realization he'd never paid Loras. "Really?" He asked, astounded. "Isn't that just slavery?" More or less, but Loras was treated far better than any slave, or servant. He desired nothing more than to curl up with the boy for a little while and dismiss the girl running around for them.

"We can always result to extortion." That'd be easy, brandish a sword and make someone piss their breeches. Loras would be good at that, he was only a boy but he as awfully intimidating when he could be. "Love you." He murmured, rolling over onto his front so his words were muffled into the bed sheets. "Pet my hair and tell me everything will be okay."

Loras had never thought of being a slave. He was clothed in finer materials, never asked to do anything below his family's rank, was always treated more or less as a human. He had it much better than the slaves, "No. Slaves don't really have a choice, do they?" It would be been frowned upon, and he probably would have been cut off from his family if he had turned down the opportunity to serve the Prince, but Loras had always liked to think that it had been his choice.

"The citizens here are soft. They would turn out their pockets before my sword reached their person." Loras blinked down at Renly, his features softening. "Love you, too." His Prince was his senior, and Loras adored him in every way. Falling to one side, he propped himself up on his elbow, his hand falling gently on top of Renly's head. Running his fingers through Renly's soft hair, he leaned over to press a soft kiss onto the back of his head. "Everything will be fine. I'll take care of you, I promise."

Walking at a faster pace back to the two boys' dorm, Kiyana was happy that she didn't have to walk around the entire school in search of water. Blinking a few times, she wasn't even sure what the two boys were to her. Acquaintances? Maybe. Friends? Maybe. It wasn't like she wanted to ask them either, as that would seem rude, as most of the things that she had done already had made them mad, or at least question if she was god enough to be their maid. Nonetheless, hopefully they weren't going to comment that everything she did was bad, or sloppy.

She was human, and she make mistakes. As she reached the dorm, it took her a second to transfer all three bottles to one side, as she needed to other one to unlock the door. Sighing as one of them almost fell, she unlocked the door and turned the nob quickly. Swooshing the door open, she didn't even think to knock, or to let them know that she was outside of their door. "I got wat-" She stopped for a second to see that they had moved around a bit since she had left. "Water."

"Well, technically slaves do have a choice." Renly answered, with a thoughtful shrug, "although I'm sure if they acted on their own choices they'd be put to the sword, so mayhaps you're right, slaves don't have a choice." There had never been slaves present in the castle, servants, yes, but never slaves. Only the barbaric used slaves, and the elves were certainly not a barbaric race. He purred softly as Loras' hand fell to the top of his head, rather enjoying the attention. When the girl returned he'd kick her out and sleep for the rest of the day.

Or at least whatever else came to his mind if he and his squire were left alone. "Good. I fear I'm not cut out for civilian life." Then again, he supposed Loras was used to castle life, as well, but the boy was far more independent than his prince, which was shocking really, with the age that Renly was. He'd turned two and twenty last June, and was Loras' senior by six years, although you wouldn't have expected that. He let out an exasperated sigh when the girl returned, pushing himself upright and frowning softly at her. "Alright, thank you, are you quite finished, then?"
