It was pretty overcast, a damp day at the beach. It was later in the afternoon, the sky darker in the autumn day.
Xavier shuffled on a beach, followed by a yawn. He would never say it because he’d feel selfish, but the past few days had been rough. He’d received his sentence only the previous day, but the rumours had already done their damage. It was why he was here actually. He wouldn’t deny that he had done it, but he stubbornly stood by the fact that he thought it was regular water and not holy water. He had never intended for it to be anymore than a prank. But that’s not what anyone else believed. Xavier didn’t have the time to talk to Angelo more but... Xavier felt too guilty to talk to him now. He remembered the message about secrets. Then there was Gabe, who was clearly avoiding Xavier. He couldn’t blame him. But, he had left a voice message for him. Pleading his case.
But here Xavier stood. He had a thicker jacket on, occasionally he glanced for the person he was waiting for. Xarrah. They hadn’t talked as well, again he couldn’t blame her. But he had managed to convince her to come talk with him. He felt relieved, yet also nervous. He couldn’t help it.
However, alongside Xavier, stood a small blonde child. Dani held Xavier’s hand as she fidgeted. She really wanted to run along the beach, or to play in the ocean. That would be even better. But Xavier kept saying no. That made her mad. She had a puffy blue jacket on with matching coloured wellingtons, and a white beanie pulled tightly over her ears. Likely overbundled by Xavier, she kind of looked like an angry puffball. She didn’t understand why Xavier hadn’t been around her recently, or why he was in trouble. All she knew was that he was in trouble. She figured he did something dumb though.
When Xarrah arrived, Xavier would smile. His usual smile, like nothing had happened. “Hey X-buddy!” He sounded enthusiastic but... it would be hard to ignore the tiredness in his voice.
