The darkness clung to the trees, their tendrils slithering through the night like mangled wooden fingures. The air was reasonably warm now that the weather had started to improve, though there was still a crisp breeze that whistled through the leaves. The blanket of cloud shielded the light of the moon from the forest, making it hard to see a few feet infront of you. This was no problem for Lux, though.
He wanted to have a stroll through the forbidden forest, not far from the place where he arrived on the planet. The dark did not frighten him, he allowed himself to glow as bright as a blazier, revealing his path ahead of him. Leora meandered through the trunks, swirling and circling. Every so often, she would change form to an eagle and soar above the canopy and swoop down again. It seemed quiet - too quiet. He had heard that this forest was full of beasts and things that go bump in the night, but he was yet to see anything. The only sound present was the wailing wind and the occassional cricket.
