"Can you hear me?
Voice resounding
Calling over the flow of time...
Heed my cry, and know that I
Want you to return..."
The wind blew coolly across Yuki's skin as the remnants of winter cold fluttered in the breeze, still dominant enough to shadow the warmth that spring promised. He felt the power course through his veins, that familiar feeling of invoking some higher power as his voice carried clearly across the lake, free of meekness as the animals heeded his call, slowly gathering to watch as the last threads of sunset glistened on the water's surface.
It was a small comfort, knowing that even when things were at their bleakest Yuki could rely on music. The lyrics that bubbled up to the surface of his mind to invoke the gathering hadn't made much sense, but he knew that the words didn't always have to - as long as they were poetic in nature, he knew that they would take effect.
Although sometimes he simply didn't have muse, which made things difficult. But today he seemed to be in top form - good. He didn't feel comfortable about doing these checkups where Ace and Mahalia could hear. It was awkward, the idea of them accidentally being enthralled by his magic. But it felt good to do, nonetheless - whenever he sang like this, he could feel his entire being pulse with delight. He rubbed the pendant on his neck, feeling the warmth of the heated metal as the crystal glowed softly, its blue light resonating in the metal casing. It never failed to impress the boy with its beauty.
