The Guardian's Blade, Episode II

The mallet would completely miss Lesset by an inch. She didn't see it, but he moved back just enough with lightning speed so that the attack completely missed him. Whatever Lesset was, he was completely out of her league. He prepared to end her life as he did Paul's, but that was before the gems he had under his armor began to shine brightly. He cried out in pain, and ripped off his armor as the glowing stones fell to the ground. They reacted to the shoddy sword Paul had sheathed at his side.

The sword left its sheath on its own, floating into the air. The gems floated parallel to the blade, circling it and finally closing in. Soon, they morphed into a single item. The shining, holy longsword was now complete. And Paul's/Corona's wounds had somehow completely healed.

Lesset hadn't expected this to happen. It seems the gems and the sword were drawn together. Corona stood up and grabbed the sword, with a "did you really think I was dead?" look on his face.

"Well, it seems that sword has a stronger will than I believed. How about we do this again, sometime? That's assuming you beat my new pet." Lesset laughed as black angelic wings shot from his back and he lifted into the sky

Just as the ground rumbled and a dark mist began to surround Corona and Moonlight.

"Meet the Shadow Dragon, Gorielastrasz!" Lesset's voice rang from far away, as the darkness manifested into a dragon-looking creature made completely of darkness. Its blood red eyes opened and glared at Moonlight and Corona.


Corona looked glumly at the creature. "A shadow dragon.. its still young yet, but these things are no joke. A dragon of this realm is no match for a shadow dragon. It looks like its time to bring out the true power of the Guardian's blade."

Corona held the sword up in front of him, placing his left hand onto the blade next to the hilt, he slid his hand across the blade. No blood was drawn from him. Instead, the blade was covered in white light. Tossing the sword into the air, holy energy exploded from the blade and returned it into a pure-energy form. It then flashed and became a pillar of light surrounding Corona. The pillar formed into a large cross, as holy energy entered Corona's body, white angel wings sprouted from his back, he became dressed in an extravagant white kimono. On his back, in between his wings, was a white cape with the image of a golden cross in the center.

He stared the creature in the eyes, now. Holding out both hands as white light took the shape of longswords. He knew that even with the power of the Guardian's Blade, Paul and Moonlight could die this day. And not only that, but they did not realize the suffering they would go through if this creature got ahold of them.

"Listen to me carefully, Moonlight. A shadow dragon is a manifestation of darkness itself. Its body will shift between planes, and you and Sparky's attacks will have little effect on it. My attacks are holy and should stun it, and when that happens, it will temporarily shift all of its body onto this world. Shadow Dragons do not have tough hides like a dragon of this world, use that time to strike with your attacks. But be warned, while Sparky could survive its attacks since he is magical, if the creature's claws hit you, you will suffer a fate worse than death itself."

The dragon had enough talking and sunk into the ground. Its shadow moved through the grass and plants, causing them to wither and die as it moved. It popped out under Corona - who flew up into the sky and landed on top of the ruined chapel - and tried to snap at him.

He jumped off the chapel and hovered above the dragon, taunting it. The creature roared demonically and flapped its wings as it charged upwards. Corona began to chant as both of his longswords began to shine brightly.

"The blade to banish the darkness..." He began to spin as holy light surrounded him. The creature realized the trap and tried to spin out of the way but it was too late. "Synergy slash!" As his miniature dance ended, a thin beam of holy light flashed out from his sword and slashed the creature right across the neck, sending it back to the ground as its transparent body became a physical, black gloopy thing.


"Now!" He shouted as he fell next to it and began slashing at it with his swords.

The dragon roared again and it melted back into the ground as it came out of the stun. Its shadow moved through the ground as it suddenly came out behind Moonlight, ready to suck her into its gaping maw. It had became furious with such of a powerful attack she used, and realized she was in a now weakened state.

Corona called out and ran over to her, pushing her out of the way of the dragon as its large jaw clamped down on him, its teeth biting into his soul. When the dragon realized that he bit down on an unintended target, it tossed Corona into the sky and he slammed onto the ground - hard. The holy state he was in prevented his instant death, but another attack like that would surely kill him.
