Maria's smile became a bit more real at the boy's reaction. He didn't know who she was, did he? Well, obviously not. "Kid, I'm the Headmistress," she said. "Everything that goes on in this school is my problem.... everything." The female's eyes went to what was in his hand, and she blinked for a few moments. Was that a... beer bottle? Oh, she hoped it wasn't. The boy didn't look like he was old enough to be drinking.
She turned to the little girl, listening to her. An eyebrow raised again at her 'cough medicine' excuse. She didn't exactly believe it, and she wouldn't believe it until she got more proof than words. "Cough medicine, hm? Then let me see it, 'cause it looks like a bottle of beer to me." She stopped herself from smirking, waiting to see what the children would say to that.
She was a bit surprised upon hearing she had killed one of the guards. Murder, too? Oh, great. This would be fun to take care of. "Alright... well, um, which one did you kill?" she asked. "The one that was trying to kill you?" It really did depend on that. If she had killed the guard that was trying to hurt her, she wouldn't blame the girl. Maria probably would have strangled him to death for trying to hurt her anyway if he had lived, and had she been in the little girl's position, might have done the same thing. But, if it wasn't the guard that tried to kill her.... well, then that was different story.
