A soft sigh emitted from her as she looked at the mutant that lay on the ground before her. It wasn't dead; Annabelle had merely stunned it with her powers. Even so, she felt slightly guilty, since she had invaded their land just in her selfish want for some privacy. The air was heavy and rather cold for summer, which only helped to had to the already eerie disposition of the moors.

Annabelle let out a sigh and quickly started walking away from the stunned animal. Pure white wings were pulled against her back and stood out the most in the darkness. Auburn hair was pulled back and eyes of the same color glanced around in a slightly nervous manner. The nephilim's footsteps were as quiet as she could possibly make them, but even so, she was a bit paranoid.

Finally finding the log, the halfbreed sat down and took a few deep breaths. "I can't win..." she said simply, looking up at the sky. She had come here for privacy and peace and quiet, and it turned out in the end that all she got was anxiety and paranoia.

He stuffed his hands in his pockets and walked, his body tense, partially for the cold summer weather, but the rest for some unknown reason. He looked around, unsure of where he was, like the majority of the time. The school was a bit to big, and in the short time that he'd been there, he'd already gotten lost most of every time he wandered out. But then again, it's not like he cared. Lucas was always looking for some peace and quiet. And getting lost was just the way to do it.

The boy couldn't see much, since it was quite dark, so every time he tripped over a rock or a branch, he felt like he was going to fall into nothingness, which probably wouldn't be that bad. Nothingness was after, nothing. Lucas looked up and noticed something in the distance. He wasn't sure what it was, but all he knew was that it was white. A small white light, floating, no - gliding in mid air. It was like the light he'd been waiting so long for. Without really realizing it, Lucas had quickened his pace, he wanted to get to the light. But the closer he got, the more disappointed he was.

It wasn't a light. Something far from it. It was a person. With wings...almost like an angel. He could tell form where he was that it was female, and she made not a sound as she walked, as if she was drifting along. Lucas sighed and then hit something. He looked down and almost shouted in disgust. There, below him was the corpse of some sort of animal. He shuddered at the sight of it, always hating the sight of a dead animal, and quickly walked around it. He caught sight of the girl again, this time she had stopped, and was now sitting on a log. Lucas didn't want to disturb her, nor talk to her, but instead, he watched her from afar. He took seat on a large rock and looked at her.

After a while, the hairs on the back of Annabelle's neck stood straight and she bit her lip, getting an odd feeling. At first, she tried to shake it off as just the overall creepy feel to this area getting to her. It made sense. Spending too much time in a place like this could easily make one a little bit on edge.

However, she realized soon that such a thing wasn't the case. She soon felt eyes burning into her back and slowly turned around and stood, knowing that she wasn't alone anymore. She wrapped her wings around herself as a method of protection she had used ever since she was a child and took slow steps away from the log, looking about.

Auburn eyes soon spotted a male sitting on a rock. Only idiots would come out to this place alone, so she figured he had to be the person she had felt looking at her. "Who are you?" she asked, slightly defensive. It was impossible to know what kind of creatures would be out here, so she couldn't even know if he was actually a person or just something her mind was making up.

He had a sense that she'd realized he was watching her. Lucas would avert his eyes to something else, but they'd end up going back to her. If he'd find a peculiar pebble, he'd start looking for other similar pebbles and he'd always find one in her direction. There was just something about her. Lucas observed form the corner of his eye how the girl stood up and wrapped herself in her white wings. He could feel a small smile try and break free from his constant depressed expression, but it failed, only managing to crease the sides of his mouth, but only for a mere second.

"Who are you?"

Lucas looked up at her, biting his lip. This was the sort of thing he wanted to avoid. He had disturbed her and she probably wasn't that happy about it. But now he had to talk to her. Sure, there was a small part of him that did want to talk to her, but he didn't. She'd probably think he was an insignificant loser anyway. "I'm no one." The boy turned his head to look away from her, but couldn't stand knowing she'd end up asking something else. He just had to go. or at least get away. Lucas got up, and began walking away form her, but then stopped. He turned his head to look at her and said, "I'm sorry I disturbed you."

Annabelle lifted an eyebrow as she waited for a response. This was a slightly awkward situation... she wasn't sure if her mind was playing tricks on her, or if he was really there and wasn't going to pounce at any given moment. Still, she wondered why he was there... it was very strange.

"I'm no one."

A small smile graced the nephilim's mouth and she couldn't help but laugh. "Don't pull Greek mythology on me!" she said. Hopefully he would understand what she was talking about, otherwise she would feel like an idiot. Perhaps it was slightly odd of her to relate 'no one' and the story of Odysseus together, but... that was just how Annabelle was. "I'm Anna, if that makes you feel any better."

"I'm sorry I disturbed you."

He was leaving? The twenty-year-old blinked and watched for a moment before running to catch up with him. Even if she had originally wanted to be alone here, that thought wasn't so comforting anymore. "No, no, you didn't disturb me at all!" she said. "Just a bit startled. This place is FREAKY, you know?" Annabelle laughed nervously, hoping to hide her real reason for following him with the simple fact he hadn't done anything wrong. "So what's new? How are you doing? Do you like it here?"

Hopefully she wasn't being annoying. The only reason she was acting like this though was because she just didn't want him to go.

"Don't pull Greek mythology on me!"

Lucas looked curiously at the girl. Greek mythology? The boy didn't know much about Greek mythology, only a few stories, but he had no idea how the girl had connected him saying 'I'm no one' to Greek mythology.

"I'm Anna, if that makes you feel any better."

Anna. That was a nice name. A pretty name. But now that she had told him her name, he felt like he now had to tell her his. "I'm Luke," the boy said, preferring her to call him Luke rather than Lucas, since Lucas always sounded so dorky. At least, to him it did. Well, the girl seemed nice, and saying his name to her did make him feel a smidgen better. But only a smidgen.

"No, no, you didn't disturb me at all!" she said. "Just a bit startled. This place is FREAKY, you know?"

Lucas was surprised to realize that Anna had run up to him. No one had ever wanted to actually talk to him, so this was brand new for Lucas. So he was wrong in the end, he didn't disturb her. At least that was one thing he wasn't right about. Lucas looked around, examining the place. The darkness, the sense of depression in the air. Seemed like his kind of place, not that freaky to him, but it was to her. "Not really..." He wasn't being a very good talker, although there was a part of him that wanted to talk more, but after so many years of being quiet, he didn't really know how.

"So what's new? How are you doing? Do you like it here?"

Wow, she asked a lot of questions. But it was probably normal, if she thought the place was freaky and all. What kind of normal person would want to be out there all alone? Lucas didn't mind, but then again, he wasn't normal. In any sense of the word. He stayed quiet for a moment or two, contemplating over if he really wanted to answer, or just continue to head out. But he didn't leave, even though he wasn't sure how to answer. "I...I guess it's okay here, but I haven't really been here that long." Lucas avoided the 'how are you doing' question, since he didn't really want to say he wasn't doing to good, because then he'd end up being forced to tell his whole life tale, which is probably something she wouldn't want to listen to. And nobody ever wants to listen to a nobody.

Annabelle offered an awkward smile when he gave her that curious look. "You know... with the cyclops... and the guy stabbed its eye out..." she said with a nervous laugh, scratching the back of her head. Maybe saying that before hadn't been her wisest decision. Oh, well.

"I'm Luke."

"It's nice to meet you, Luke!" the half-fallen angel exclaimed. He seemed a bit on the quiet side, but that was alright. She had no reason to hate him, so she didn't mind talking to him and being nice. She hadn't exactly made any friends here, and that was a bit of a disgrace considering she had been here for months. She couldn't help but wonder why he was so quiet, though. He was most likely another one of those kids with lots of problems... they seemed to be everywhere in this place. That thought was a bit mean though, so she tried to shake it away. "How old are you?" It was to keep the conversation going, really.

"Not really..."

An eyebrow perked somewhat. He didn't find this place scary... how strange. This whole ordeal was so very odd... anyone normal would have thought it frightening here. Then again, perhaps she wasn't entirely normal herself. No one here was... so it was slightly hypocritical. "Well, ok," Annabelle said with a shrug. "So, why did you come out here?"

"I...I guess it's okay here, but I haven't really been here that long."

"It gets lonely after a while," she wound up saying, adding her two cents in. After realizing she had done so she bit one of her nails, kicking at the ground a bit nervously. She then blinked, auburn eyes showing realization. "You didn't answer the other questions..." Annabelle stated, confused and curious. Contrary to what Lucas believed, Annabelle was a patient person and would listen if he bothered to tell.

"You know... with the cyclops... and the guy stabbed its eye out..."

Lucas looked once again at the girl with confusion. The mentioning of a cyclops and getting it's eye stabbed out sounded familiar, but he couldn't remember much of Greek mythology. He forced a nervous kind of laugh, without a nervous smile, and said, "Sorry...I'm not quite familiar with that story..."

"It's nice to meet you, Luke!"

The boy sighed as he looked at Anna, this time, trying to show her some sort of smile, to try and be at least a bit nicer and friendlier looking. The creases of his mouth raised slightly, and a small smile was show, although slightly crooked. "It's nice to meet you too."

"How old are you?"

"I'm eighteen. And you?" Lucas wasn't completely sure why Anna had asked him his age, but it was most likely for some sort of small talk. Even though he wasn't a big fan of small talk - it always made him feel awkward - he didn't really mind it this time, talking to her. Probably because he'd never really talked to a girl before. At least, one that he'd met on his own.

"So, why did you come out here?"

This, he had to think over a bit. Why did he come out here? Well to think was one answer that had popped into his head automatically, also to just get away form everyone; to be alone. "To be alone, I guess..." He said, shoving his hands in his jean pocket and looking out into their dark surroundings. "Isn't that why everyone else goes to places like this by themselves?" Lucas wasn't really sure about the last part he'd just said. Maybe some people came to scary places by themselves as a dare or something, but t be alone was the first thing that really stuck to his mind. To be alone.

"It gets lonely after a while,"

What a shocker. Luca knew for a fact he was going to get lonely, although he's been lonely his entire life. What would going to some strange school do anything to change that? It didn't...not for him anyway.

"You didn't answer the other questions..."

Uh-oh. He knew she had realized that he skipped the how he was doing question. "What other questions...?" The boy asked, playing the confused and stupid. He knew perfectly well what other questions, but he wasn't sure about opening up to some girl he just met. Even if she did seem pretty nice.
