Angelo wasn't that much ahead of Desmond in terms of figuring it out, but at least he had a baseline to work off of.
"More or less," Angelo said, reaching out to take one of the cookies, popping it into his mouth. It wasn't a napkin, which was nice. "We published a notice of death, so we'll have to retract that, and put a reverse on you being declared dead. Thankfully Manta Carlos makes that easy since necromancy is a thing. Not quite the same thing, but similar procedures."
The questions about the cocoon though... that was harder to deal with.
"No idea. I mean, it's not actually a body, even if it looks like one. They'll probably ask you if they can take it for science, because being able to recognize anyone else going through a similar thing would be useful. It's not like they'll bury it, but I guess it'll be disposed of after a while?"

"Sorry.." Desmoth picked a few moths off of him and just shook his head. "It seems I may have been a inconvenience and now you have to do a lot of paperwork which is probably a hassle."
That whole process of going in and saying a dead guy you just claimed dead who turns out to not actually be dead is just...a lot of work. He suppose it had to be done.
He frowned at the thought of scientists poking at the body or cocoon thing or whatever. "I'd like to have it buried. I'm not sure why but it just seems right....a proper burial sounds better than being disposed after having no more use to scientists. It is still my old body I suppose." It made sense to him plus he had his reasons on why he prefered for it to be buried. "If they want to poke at something they can poke at me as I have nothing better to do."

"It's fine," Angelo said, waving off the apology. It was going to be a lot of paperwork, but he was off the clock the moment he was done the interview, which meant someone else was going to have to handle it.
"I can probably do that," Angelo said with a shrug. "It's probably down in the morgue - I can get them to release it to you? It's not like it's super heavy or anything." All the important bits had been pulled out, after all. All the important bits were still sitting in front of him.
"You should definitely go to the hospital first though, get checked out to make sure everything is alright."

Good. No scientists poking at his dead body or well whatever it was now. "Thank you officer guy." Desmoth put away all his snacks and then hopped up from his seat.
"I didn't really expect all of this to happen just for wanting free food." He scratched at his chin and paced around a bit. "Is it possible to keep the body in the morgue until I get everything ready to bury it?"
He stopped pacing around and just nodded at Angelo. "Hospital...right." It seemed like he would have to do a lot more things than he expected plus the fact he has memory loss. "I will go there as soon as I leave here then." Probably, maybe not.

Hmmm. Angelo had a sneaking suspicion that Desmond was in no hurry to run to the hospital, but it wasn't like he could force him anyway.
"Yeah, I'll let them know. You'll basically be treated like next of kin--like picking up the body of a relative who died." The scientists had no doubt already poked and prodded--not much in the way of an autopsy when it was already split open like it was--but Angelo didn't see the point in agitating him by mentioning it.
"Keep your ID with you, I'll handle the rest of the paperwork."
Or make someone else handle it. As long as it got done, that was what mattered.

He stared at Angelo a bit as Desmond was clearly struggling for words to say. It's not everyday you somehow end up legally claimed dead and turn out not to be dead at all. "Uh...Thanks? Is this where I say thank you or some shit? Is this even a situation where you say thank you?" He rubbed his temples as he now had to go figure a lot of stuff out.
"I'll just um leave now and pick up the body later." he scrubbed at his face and headed to the door not really sure if there was more needed such as him having to sign papers for documentation or whatever.
So now time for him to not go to the hospital and go get high instead! Great. Fun.
