Angelo was tired. Very tired. He'd actually been off duty when he opted to stop by the party. He'd juts wanted some food. Instead, he'd ended up having to haul a material witness in a major case down to the station, digging his badge out and just pinning it straight on his shirt.

They got a few funny looks as Angelo headed in, requesting a file on the Desmond and guiding the confused and still nameless man into a questioning room. It wasn't an interrogation room--not by a long shot--but it was still in a police station, and that tended to agitate people anyway.

It was also, thankfully for Angelo, recorded.

Angelo couldn't help but note that the guy he'd brought did look suspiciously similar to the dead guy, Desmond Reynolds. The reason for the confusion was obvious, although it wasn't clear how founded it actually was.

"Alright," Angelo said after he finished skimming the case, setting the relatively slim file to the side. "Lets go from the top. What's your name?"

Desmond...or well Desmoth followed the cop guy around and ate some of the cookies he had brought along.

He just wanted free food but somehow ended up being a witness to some case about a dead hobo. It was really bothersome however he went along just wanting to get this over with.

Once they had reach the room where he would be questioned, Desmoth took a seat and proceeded to eat a few napkins before the questioning began.

"My name? I don't know....I recently woke up. Someone did call me Mothra and there was others who called me Desmond." He simply placed another napkin in his mouth and chewed on it like it was gum. "I don't believe I have a name."

Angelo couldn't help but squint when the guy started eating napkins of all possible things. It was... okay, he was a moth, but... what the hell.

"Huh?" Angleo said when maybe-desmond said he didn't have a name. It was all... alright, he had to admit that he probably wasn't the best judge, but the entire situation just seemed so weird. How could he not have a name? How could he have woken up recently?

"Can you show me your ID?" Angelo said, suspecting that the answer was going to be something along the lines of 'I don't know what that is' or 'I only have this stuff I stole off a dead body'.

Maybe it was better to assume that much.

"You just woke up, and you don't remember your name... do you not remember anything before you woke up? How recently did you wake up?"

Desmoth stopped eating the napkins for now as he shook his head no when asked for an ID. "No....is that a bad thing?" he tilted his head and took out the duck tape wallet again to hand to Angelo. "Unless you mean the one in there otherwise no."

When asked about when he woke and not remembering anything before waking up he frowned. "I woke up a few days ago, maybe two or three I'm not sure."

Desmoth shifted in his seat a little and wrapped his wings around himself to make it more comfortable to sit down. "The Desmond guy, how long have he been missing and when was the body found?"

Cripes. Was he going mad? Could he even touch the wallet? Was that material evidence?

"I'll happily tell you," Angleo said in answer to the question, reaching out to inch the wallet over and giving it a quick glance. "After you tell me where it was you woke up, and what it is you remember."

Did the guy have memory loss? What were the chances that he woke up with no memories, stole a wallet (and a pair of pants) off a dead body, and then...

...and then what?

"And what have you been doing the last few days?"

He had a guy with no name, who was an important witness, who had no idea.

It was going to be a long night.

"The forest." Desmoth said in a blatantly manner.

"The one that is forbidden?" Still saying this without much care. Desmoth took a moment to think on what exactly happened when he woke up. "I was in a cocoon. When I woke up I had to tear myself out of the cocoon which took a moment and I needed assistance from the moths." He gestured to one of the moths as it was sitting on his shoulder.

"I was naked and needed something to wear and while looking for something to eat I stumbled onto the clothes so I put them on. I then proceeded to eat part of the shirt and the contents of things in the pockets." Taking a moment he tried to think what it was.

"Someone called it weed at the party. There was also some type of mushroom, they didn't taste well." He frowned as he remembered how horrible those things tasted like. "I did not know I was supposed to smoke the weed. Have you ever smoked weed?" Yeah he was getting off track.

"I then left the forest with my cocoon which I lost and so I searched for food. I slept in a alley and ate some trash then I learned of a party with free food. That's about it really..."

Angelo had given up halfway through probably-Desmond's explanation, and by the time he was asked if he'd ever smoked any weed, Angelo's forehead was pressed to the table.

He felt like his soul was leaving his body.

At the very least it mostly confirmed what he'd suspected--that it was too big a coincidence to actually be one. The man in front of him probably was Desmond.

Or was Desmond. Maybe he was something else, but he'd definitely been Desmond at one point.

"Okay," Angelo said, completely ignoring the question he'd been asked. "I think it's pretty safe to say that you were Desmond at one point, whether or not you currently are... that's something someone else can figure out. I didn't see a cocoon, and your sto-"

Angelo cut himself off, suddenly realizing the mistake he was making.

"What did the cocoon look like?"

Desmoth curiously watched Angelo and stifled a laugh. "Sorry for boring you...the past few days have been really boring other than the party."

He was sure that was all the information he could give...other than the fact he may have tried to eat the ID and wallet. He wasn't sure if that was needed info. There wasn't much else for him to say.

"Eh?" He blinked and eyed Angelo a bit. "Now you are saying it.. " There was a slight irritation as being called someone who was apparently a dead hobo wasn't really an okay thing to him. "Okay....If you are sure that I am or was Desmond then it must be true." He frowned and looked around as he had a sudden realization.

"The people...friends or whatever. I don't know them but they knew Desmon- err me. What do I do about that? Should I reconnect with them or not?" It was a weird question but yeah that is a problem too.

Moving on

Desmoth perked up a bit at the mention of the cocoon. "It was...heavy and shaped to my body , well was shaped to my body. It was dark and I didn't give much attention to it maybe why I lost it..."

Angelo was usually professional, but he wasn't usually dragged back to the station after he'd finished a long shift to do even more work. He let out a small groan, burying his face in his hand for a moment as he rubbed at his eyes.

This was going to be so much paperwork.

"Okay," Angelo said. "Let me explain what I think went down. You, for reasons I am not clear, cocooned yourself. Then you got out. The cocoon was... well, there might have been an actual cocoon at one point, but it faded away, leaving just your body behind. Which looked like a really fucked up murder victim abandoned in the woods. We noticed that your wallet was missing, but we didn't class it as a robbery because what robber would do that to the body?"

Apparently Desmond was, only it wasn't a body.

"So we're going to need to... I don't know, double check it? The body? And that'll help confirm this. And then you... should probably go to the hospital. Memory loss is a thing and I have no idea what to tell you about it, but the hospital probably would."

Desmoth looked really confused for a few moments as he just sat there. Well he didn't expect this nor did he know how to feel about it. "So...I'm Desmond...Desmond is me.." He shook his head still trying to figure it out.

"Cocoon was body..body is cocoon." He tapped his chin and then nibbled on one of the cookies he had brought along. "I have caused many problems then huh?" Desmoth pulled another cookie out from his bag and offered it to Angelo.

"Yes I may have to go see someone about my memories also....I would like to know what will happen to the cocoon after you check it? Will it be destroyed or something?"
