It was night, the stars shiniong overhead. There was not a cloud in sight, the moon giving off an eery glow. The snow gleamed on the ground, reflecting the pale light to whomever was there to see it.

There was indeed one to see it on that beautiful winter night, a man in his late two thousand years. He didn't look old, no more than the average vampire. As usual, the brown haired vampire was alone, not that he didn't like compagny of others, they usually fled whenever he was around.

Sighing, the black clad figure placed his head in his hands, his grey silver like eyes overlooking the ground in a haze of thoughts. He had never known anybody for long, even vampires, they usually would go away once the competition became too much for them.

It wasn't his fault his presence as a vampire made him a threat to most younger vampires. They found him to be too old, they were affraid of him most of the time even if he tried to be nice and gentle with them, they were after all only kids.

At that moment, he was feeling particularly vulnerable, his emotions could be seen on his face. Oh he wasn't searching for a wife or anything, he had lost his mate a long time ago, but thrustworty company was allways welcomed.

Sighing, he let his thoughts wander, allowing himself to get lost in them. The vampire didn't really care if someone snuck up on him at that moment. Death wasn't something he had feared in a long time. Even if he died, he had decided he didn't care, he would simply join Elizabeth, which would be good.

The young vampire walked up the stairs, skipping some of the steps as she walked, not really in any mood to walk on all of them. Her footsteps were far quieter than they usually were, but that was only because she had been quite upset recently. Everything just always seemed to go wrong, and it was rare that something went the way she planned. But, that was life, and she just had to get used to it.

As usual, she was dressed in men's clothing, and it was all black. Black pants, a black, long-sleeved shirt, and a baggy, black sweatshirt over it. However, unlike almost every other time she went out, there was no hat upon her head to hide her hair and cast a shadow over her face. Her long, black hair was down at her waist, and there was no sign of emotion in her eyes or face, despite how she felt inwardly.

Cordelia opened the door to the roof with a quiet sigh, and stepped outside, closing the door behind her. As she looked around, she spotted someone else, and an eyebrow raised a little bit. Well, what had she expected? Of course someone else would be out here. It was a beautiful night, after all.

After a few moments of just standing near the door, watching him, she came to the conclusion that he wasn't exactly happy. He may have been a male, but lately, she had been a little bit nicer to people. "Something wrong?" she asked him. She could have easily been rude, but she just didn't feel like it. She also noticed that he was probably a much older vampire than herself, but oh, well. She wasn't afraid of other vampires, no matter what their age.

He heard the soft crunch of the snow behind him, not too far, but not too near either, he had hoped for company, but he hadn't thought it would come to him so soon. His steady gaze turned slowly to the cloaked figure, he wasn't sure if 'it' was a male of a female, the scent was slightly confusing, Plus, 'it' wore male clothes.

His eyebrows furrowed slightly. He was old school he knew, but hey, he was born a long time ago. In that time, being a gentleman wasn't an option. You had to be a gentleman or be frowned upon and be an outcast. He never wanted to be either but had ended being both.

He schooled his features in a practiced mask an eyebrow raising to her question.

"Something wrong?" He/She asked.

Though he was more sure she was a female to the scent he could now define easier.

''Nothing that would be worth your concern Miss.'' He said in a polite voice. ''I wouldn't want to burden you unnecessarily with my thoughts.''

She felt young, oh so very young compared to him. And yet, he didn't feel like he was the oldest, far from it.

''I simply wanted to clear my thoughts under the light of the moon. Do you enjoy such a view yourself?'' He asked trying to be as charming as allways.

The twenty-year-old waited patiently for an answer, walking closer to where he was. She stopped walking when she was about a yard behind him, and shook her head at his reply. "Heh, if you're sure," she said, not bothering to disguise her voice. It was feminine for once instead of masculine, but she didn't really mind. "Though, you didn't look exactly happy a moment ago. But, you don't have to tell me. I'm not great at advice, anyway."

She smiled and stuffed her hands into her pockets, silently wondering to herself why there were so many older vampires here. Percy was older than her, Rayana was older than her, and she still had the feeling that this male was older than her as well. It was odd, in her opinion, but she didn't allow herself to think about it for too long.

".... Do you enjoy such a view yourself?''

Cordelia shrugged. "Yes, actually, I do," she told him. "Though, nights like these are rare, if you ask me." Again, it was odd; she had never really cared for these kinds of things, and lately, she had been. It scared her ,but then again, perhaps she was changing slightly for the better.

A small smile tugged at the man's lips, but it was gone as soon as it could be registered.

''Not many people can be good in giving advice, I myself am no good at it.'' He replied. ''I have too much to think about nowadays sadness is only part of that.''

There was an inherent sadness in his demeanor, something had happened to him that obviously broken his unbeating heart. And more than once too as was what happened.

''Indeed they are rare, most nights there is enough clouds to block every ounce of moonlight there is.'' The brown haired vampire said. ''Others just are too rainy or it is snowing. It is a blessed time when we vampires can look upon the face of the moon.''

(Crap, a shortie...)

Cordelia hadn't noticed his smile at all, seeing as how it had left so quickly. If she had, though, it wouldn't have mattered much to her. It probably hadn't meant anything, so whatever. An eyebrow raised somewhat when he said that he had too much to think about, and that sadness was only a part of it. "What all do you have to think about?" she asked him. She didn't really care, she was just curious. That was all, really.

She noticed that he did seem quite upset, and did think there was something wrong; he had even admitted to it, but just didn't seem to want to talk about it. "You sure you don't wanna talk about it? It may help. And I mean, I may stink with advice but I'm a good listener." She shrugged her shoulders, deciding that whatever he did after that was up to him. She wouldn't keep pushing if he didn't want to speak about it.

''Indeed they are rare, most nights there is enough clouds to block every ounce of moonlight there is..... Others just are too rainy or it is snowing."

"Agreed," the young vampire said. It seemed to her that there hadn't been a nice, clear night like this in a while, so it was sort of like a breath of fresh air for her.

She then decided she might as well introduce herself, since she was going to be up here for a while and she believed he was as well. She wanted to know who she was talking to. "I'm Cordelia, by the way. And you are?" she asked.
