The Axeman's Eye

Shekhinah looked around the ballroom. "This is a nice place for a blood bath," He said to himself. "Now all I have to do is hope someone comes here to help me 'redecorate' with red...Hahaha..." He swung his ax, the blade hitting the floor and sticking there, handle sticking up in the air.

And we're coming here again.... why? a voice in the boys head said, obviously bored with the fact that his other self had chosen to come to the ballroom. Of all the places, of all the more interesting places, he had to choose the ballroom. That boy was an idiot.

"Shut up..." Damien said quietly. His small, bone-wings folded on his back, and he entered the ballroom. It was unbelievable that he could actually see, since his light brown eyes were covered by his messy hair. He glanced around, his arms stuffed into the pockets of his black pants. As the young man looked around, he noticed someone else... and they were talking about a blood bath.

Oh, great, this wasn't going to be good.

Hahah!! You're gonna DDIIIEEEE!! Tristan teased, laughing. Then I can have control of this body!! Yay!!

Damien's eyes narrowed. He said nothing, maybe if he didn't say anything this other guy wouldn't notice him. The seventeen-year-old leaned against the wall near the door, keeping his eyes on the other male, though it couldn't really be seen since his hair was still covering his eyes.

Shekhinah turned, noticing the boy. He turned to the boy and pulled the ax out of the ground. Then he pulled a cell phone out of a pocket and hit a few buttons. "Yes, Gevurah. I'm here. Yeah. No. Yeah. Yeah. No. Just one. He seems to think he can blend into the wall here. No. Yeah, I think he does. No. No. Okay, I'll get right on it." Shekhinah hung up, obviously angry. "You are in luck, boy. Gevurah will be here soon, but you will be long dead when he comes. So you needn't worry about a painful end! Ha ha ha ha ha.." He trailed off, putting the phone away and advancing.

Damien swallowed fearfully when the other male pulled his axe out of the ground, knowing Tristan was going to have a comment soon. He kept his eyes on Shekhinah and listened to his phone conversation, embarrassed that he had thought standing against the wall might actually help.

Ha ha... Tristan continued laughing, even though he knew the seriousness of the situation. Even if Damien died and he would get control of the entire body, there were bad things that would result from that.

The boy shook his head, his hair no longer in his eyes — well, at least most of it wasn't. Surprisingly, there was a serious look on his face instead of one of fear. It was still obvious he was afraid, though.

Tristan had finally calmed down. You can't fight. I'm gonna have to do this... let me out... he said, trying to take control without waiting for an answer.

"No... I... I can do this myself..." he said quietly. It didn't matter to him if this guy thought he was insane for talking to himself, really. He pushed himself off of the wall when he started walking closer, since he didn't want to be stuck in a corner. That most certainly wouldn't be good.

"And why... why do I need... to be killed?" he asked, stumbling over the words a little bit, since English wasn't his first language. "I've... done nothing to you..."

Ember had been walking around the school when she had heard a noise, like something being driven into the ground. She had entered the ballroom through the door on the second floor. Turning off her music, she peered over the balcony and stared down below. Apparently she had arrived just in time for something because there were two boys in the ballroom already, one with an axe, and one without. The one with the axe laughed after saying something to the other, but Ember hadn't arrive din time to why he was laughing.

The other boy had answered, asking why he needed to die. Ember shook her head, as if she'd heard those exact words before...but she couldn't remember for sure.

She had a biggest urge to jump down and somehow help out thte boy, but instead, she waited for the right moment to help out..that is, if her ended up needing any help.

"Oh, you dont!" He said. He was now in ax reach of the boy. He swung the flat side of his ax, in order to hit the boy and knock him aside. "But to kill you would be to spill blood in here, and I would rather kill you than attempt to catch the girl up above. She would be away before I got up there...Hahahahaha"

In the shadow of the stairs two people stood watching. Both held Buster swords at ready. But instead of attacking now, they decided to wait a while.
The first looked at the second. "Should we help him now? Or wait til hes dead?" The second shook his head. "We'll help him in a moment, just wait a bit so we can catch Shekhinah better off guard...But we cant wait too long or Gevurah will show up and assist him..."

She'd been spotted, thouhg it wasn't as though she was hiding or anything. He wnted ot kill the boy just to spill blood across the floor? Ember shook in her skin wiht the thought of someone being so cruel, she couldn't bar eit any longer.

Without a second thought, she jumped from the balcony and landed gracefully beside the boy, to aid him in a way if he needed it, but either way, she was gonna fight. She knew that what she had done was partially stupid, but smart too. Ember was a skilled fighter, never loosing once, and this boy with an axe didn't scare her.

Damien's eyes went wide and he ducked the attack from the axe, gulping. This wasn't good at all!! He hadn't even done anything to anger this man! He started taking a few backward steps away from him, making sure he wasn't walking toward another wall, and still keeping his eyes on the man with the axe.

You're not gonna survive this, Damien! Let me take control and get us out of here ALIVE!! Tristan growled.

"Shut up!! I can do this!!" Damien whispered harshly to his other side, but still keeping his attention on keeping himself unharmed. He hadn't even noticed the other girl that had entered from the second floor, even though Shekhinah had mentioned her. He hadn't noticed the other two whispering, either.

"Listen, I... I really don't want to fight..." he said, trying to use reason, but he doubted it would work. He was about to go on when the girl jumped down beside him, and shook his head. "M... Mademoiselle... please, don't... don't get yourself hurt!" he said, going into French like he did a lot of the time. He didn't want her to get hurt, either... why hadn't she just gone to get help, or gone to save herself? He didn't need help... well, in his opinion at least.

Ember glanced a tthe boy next to her, but still keeping an eye on the one with the axe. She couldn't help but smile when the boy told her that she might get hurt. Obviously, he didn't know Ember, which was true because they just met, but though Ember looked thin and fragile, she was suprisingly strong.

"It's okay, I can handle myself, and this guy as well," she said glancing over to Shekhinah. The boy seemed afraid, and forgein; most likely from France since he had called Ember "Mademoiselle", and people don't usually use French words unless they're from France or something..but it was only a guess. The boy continuously talked ot himself, telling himself to "shut up" when he hadn't even said anything. Ember tried ot shake that off and focous on the "enemy" infornt of them.

It was this moment, when Shekhinah decided to swing his ax horizontally, to slash his opponents apart, that the two whispering from the corner moved. In an instant, two large Busters were blocking the ax. Aeta, in Aeteiras form, shook his head. "So many attacks from these guys, all over..I dont think I can keep it up, Zaine! I'm getting worn out from the constant fighting. First the mountains, then the roof, now the ballroom!" Zaine grunted an agreement, struggling to stop the ax from making any more progress. He turned his head at the two. "You two are, unfortunately, not going to be able to stay back safely this time..We've been running back and forth to stop attacks from these guys, we're worn out..Don't suppose you can help?" Zaine grabbed two swords with sheaths off his back and tossed one to Ember, the other to Damien. "You can keep those...Augh!" The ax threw Zaine and Aeteiras across the room, their busters nearby. Zaine struggled up, but Aeteiras was out cold. "Dang it! He's out!" Zaine grabbed a buster in either hand and prepared to battle. "Dont let the ax hit you.." He said, smirking.
