The simple touch of Jericho’s hand upon his shoulder and the soothing sound of is voice was enough to calm Ettein down significantly and put a stop to his rambling. He hadn’t even realized all of what he said as his thoughts were a racing mess of convolution that he couldn’t help but spout in his nervousness. Jericho’s words had him thinking though; why exactly was he so embarrassed about shedding? It had always been a private matter for him and he find it rather gross; the notion of shedding a layer of skin. That was a bit silly though, wasn’t it; to be grossed out by something which was completely natural for his specie. Actually, having someone else know wasn’t all that bad and in a sense, it was good even. He trusted Jericho; even though they had only known each other for roughly two weeks now, the nephilim had been completely accepting toward him and he was very grateful for that. Jericho meant a lot more to him than Ettein probably realized; he was his first friend and the first person other than his guardian to know so many personal things about him. He had never felt this comfortable around someone to be so easily open with them and it was nice and something he valued as well as the words Jericho was now speaking.

He wasn’t sure what to say. What could he say? Here he was, self-conscious and rambling like an idiot whereas Jericho was being so understanding, acceptable as he had been since the first day they ran into each other and not to mention faltering as well. Though he found himself speechless, his feelings, although they could probably be felt easily by the empathy, were displayed clearly upon his face as a faint blush which only deepened in color at the next question. Had he really said that? He’s already admitted once or twice, that he liked Jericho but it was intended more as a friend. His feelings toward the nephilim made themselves known fairly early on in the two weeks they’ve known each other.

“Yes, actually.” He confirmed Jericho’s question although a bit shyly. “I uhm…like you a lot to be honest.” He gave a small smile, pulling his knees up to his chest and leaning with his back against the wall that the bed was beside. He normally wasn’t a very assertive person but he really did feel comfortable around Jericho and felt it was ok to admit. “You’re not like other people and I know it sounds cheesy but…I’ve never felt this way about anyone before.” There, it was completely out in the open now. He gave something of a sigh, wrapping his arms about his legs and leaning his chin on his knees when Jericho stood up. Though, at the last of what Jericho said, he glanced back up, a look of confusion on his face.

“What do you mean you don’t deserve this?” He questioned. What didn’t he deserve? To be liked by someone…liked more than a friend? “Why is that so hard to believe?” He gave a sheepish smile, turning his gaze away from Jericho once more and placing it on the far wall instead. “You accept me for who I am, you’re nice, funny and interesting and I…I feel like I can tell you anything….” He trailed off, leaving out other things such as the fact that he was extremely attractive and smelled nice. To be honest, he wasn’t sure how the guy was still single.

<div align=center>Lost in his own thoughts, Jericho remained with his backed turned against Ettein as he tried to process exactly what was going on. It was weird, really, and he couldn't stop thinking about it- he had known Ettein for just two weeks, and one of those he was seemingly gone. Yet that odd instant sort of attraction occurred between them, faster than anything he'd felt before. Back at his old school he knew it took months for him to gather the nerves to ask a girl out. But that was out of fear of himself and knowledge that nothing could ever work out the way he wanted. He was a hopeless romantic of sorts anyway, wanting both that notion of acceptance and the ability to give all that he could to another person. But who knew it would come so soon from this school?

When Ettein confirmed that he indeed liked him Jericho could feel blood rush and his heart rate soar. The empathetic bond placed into those he associated with had gotten stronger between them, now to the point that the sensation of warmth had gotten stronger and the emotions Ettein was feeling had been fully grasped. He really did like him. And not in that teasingly flirty way that Jericho had set forth not too long ago. This was something more genuine than that, and for once in this short timespan there wasn't that much denial. Both him and Ettein had that same thought and feeling- not feeling like this before. Yeah, sure, cliche and whatnot. But it was true, there hadn't been a time in his life that he's felt as if he could stumble on his words, that it was possible his pride wouldn't be as strong as the fortress he made it seem to be. Brushing off these sorts of things was his specialty. But like a damn leech he couldn't shake this off... As not fitting as the simile was, due to just how nice all of this felt.

Upon being questioned Jericho managed to half heartedly chuckle before looking towards the window and approaching it with a distant look. He was still concentrating on Ettein's words, smiling a bit with him mentioning what exactly he enjoyed about him. He sighed, muttering a small "Thanks." with sincerity. He was honestly glad he thought so, as these were traits he personally aspired to have. And yet... There was much more than just being hesitant out of not being able to believe what was going on. "Ettein, listen..." He finally looked at him, albeit in the corner of his eye. "Guys like me where I come from come easy. Seriously, you could find like fifteen people who just were just like me, interest and personality wise. Minus the wings." He did feel as if he was as typical as somewhat artsy teen boys went, and there was nothing particularly interesting about himself. He knew that what he was is just what he needed to be at least liked by a few. But other than that he was nothing special. Ettein however... He turned around to face him now, his expression filled with conflicted emotions. "Because you deserve a lot better."

He sighed, looking down once more. "I just..." Now he felt embarrassed. He swallowed, doing his best not to maintain eye contact. "I just think that compared to you I'm not much. You're so kind and forgiving, and I'm afraid I might hurt you..." There was so much else to it, but whether or not he had the bravery was to be seen. He held one arm in his other hand, a sign of that insecurity he only let a few people see. "There's something about you that I still can't explain. Something that makes me want to know more about you, and just in general makes me feel... Gah, sorry." He didn't know how to properly put in words that he thought Ettein was downright an alluring sort of person. It must have been the snake-like charm or something, because the way he moved, talk and even conducted himself was something of a breed on its own. And Jericho liked it. He liked it a lot.

But it seemed there was something he needed to say at the very least that had been mentioned in the first place. He needed to confirm the feeling was mutual. "I... I like you a lot, too."</div>

“I’ve been living on the island my entire life and I’ve never run into someone like you and even if there are fifteen other people here like you…you’re the one that’s stopped to get to know me, you’re the one who accepts me as I am.” He stated in a soft tone, keeping his gaze on the far wall. “You’re the one with the singing voice that gives me goose bumps and you’re the one that makes me nervous and who kept me from freezing to death or being eaten by a giant vulture.” Maybe both of those were exaggerated a little but he was grateful for his company on both accounts. “You’re the one I like…you; not fifteen other similar people….just you.” He paused for a moment to take a breath before continuing.

“And I’m not afraid of being hurt by you. I’m not afraid of you at all. Actually…I feel safe around you and I trust you.” Maybe that was a bit silly of a declaration considering the small amount of time they’ve known one another, but in that short amount of time, he’s already confided a lot to the nephilim that would normally take much more coaxing to get him to say. Even if it was a little silly, it was the truth; he did trust Jericho as the nephilim has shown him many times that he could. He fell silent for a long moment after this, mulling over what to say next. He didn’t want for Jericho to keep putting himself down and he didn’t want to sound overly cheesy by continuing to insist that he did like the nephilim. When he admitted to liking him as well though, an idea came to him.

“Good.” He said with confidence, although he was blushing a deep cherry red and stood up suddenly to approach the taller teen. “I’m hungry.” After all, not eating for a week was bound to do that to a person. “Take me out for food and I’ll forget you tried to kill me earlier…and…and you can get to know me more if you still want.” He gave a playful but shy smile, that childish side of his personality showing once more. Though he was steadily losing that momentary confidence and becoming a bit nervous once more.

“Uhm...but nowhere fancy.” He added in as an afterthought, glancing down at the baggy clothing Jericho had let him borrow. “I’m not taking these off….they’re comfy and they smell good.” He voiced what he had initially thought of the clothing. He didn’t care if he looked a little funny in them; they were Jericho’s and he liked them. Though, he only wound up blushing even more as he realized he just said that and had practically just asked…no told Jericho to take him out.

Sorry this kinda sucks lol

<div align=center>Sure of himself as he was, there was that doubt in place that he possessed when looking from himself in the eyes of others. Normally he didn't care, but he knew now that he had to be as best as he could be with Ettein around, without losing touch of who he was. He looked down, a faint smile coming to his face as Ettein assured him that he was worth something, and not some run of the mill kid that wasn't much to speak of. He was something to the naga, and though he paled in comparison (or at least he thought so in his mind) to him at least the feelings they shared were mutual. Even the empathy that Jericho possessed was beginning to lend itself to him, though this was all a subconscious act. For now, all that mattered was that Jericho had Ettein and Ettein had Jericho. And who knows? They might eventually make for a cute couple.

"Well, can't say that doesn't mean a lot to me.. Thanks. I'm really... Happy that I met you... Hell, more than that. But I'm glad you think I'm someone on my own and that I have your trust. I won't ever try to let you down, and you have my word on that." That was a big deal maker for him; he wanted for others to trust him. He didn't like lying if it wasn't absolutely necessary or playful. And as long as honesty was a factor between them, he knew that whatever relationship between him and the naga would be primarily founded on equal respect and protection. Which was something he was more than willing to provide.

Well, with those feelings out of the way, his old self was beginning to return. More comfortable now that they were open with each other and the possibilities they could go with. But perhaps that would wait for later. Though it appeared the naga was taking charge of the situation and that he was much more confident now that they knew what levels they stood on each other. Jericho laughed a bit before folding his arms, leaning against the wall as Ettein neared. "Well then, Aren't we taking charge?" He remarked in an exaggerated tone, amused by his boost of confidence. But he didn't mind, in fact it spared him the embarrassment of popping the question on whether or not he'd go out on a date with him. "Sounds like a plan. Is Taiwanese a good I.O.U. for almost hitting you with an alarm clock?" He did still feel really bad about that, so he figured he ought to recall a very important piece of information about him shared earlier last week. Besides, it never hurt to try something new, right?

He was the richest of people, but he knew a good place to take him out to, and as casual as the dress code Ettein seemed not to want to abandon yet. "As long as they're comfortable, you can borrow them." He didn't want to deprive the poor snake boy of coziness after being through a week full of stress. He owed him that much. He then chuckled, not minding the comment on his scent. In fact he was flattered. "Cologne must be working then." He winked before approaching his side of the room to get both his jacket and wallet. The evening was dying down, leaving the two to spend the night as they pleased. Which was good especially now that Jericho happened to have some cash on him that day. He pocketed his money and approached the door, holding it open for his roommate and now mutual crush to go trough. "C'mon, let's go have some fun." There was much to discuss and much to experience. Just how far they were with each other was bound to be revealed, and Jericho wanted to be sure that everything about this night would be perfect.
Sorry it took so long! And no it was good :3

Ettein couldn't help but smile when Jericho said he was happy to have met him and his smile only widened and was accompanied by a blush at the last of his sentence. "I'm glad I met you too and you have my word on that as well." He returned both statements. It wasn't the most original or heartfelt thing to say considering he simply agreed on both accounts but he meant what he said regardless. Already in the short time they've known one another, Jericho has shown him nothing but kindness and understanding and that made him happy. He wanted to do the same for Jericho and hearing those words made him feel as though he had at least a little.

Though, at the next of Jericho’s words, it really started to hit him. He had practically just told Jericho to take him out and he was beginning to feel a bit embarrassed by that. Jericho’s laughter accompanied by his reply was all that was needed to gain a bit of that prior confidence back. That and the mentioning of Taiwanese food immediately caught his attention. Not only was Jericho agreeing to go out for dinner with him but he had suggested Taiwanese food. As odd as it seemed, Ettein wasn’t a big fan of heavily spiced food and was something of a picky eater but having regularly visited the local Asian food restaurants, he knew what to order without overwhelming his snake-like taste.

“Mm” He hummed under his breath and nodded a yes to his question. “I think it would be.” He said, a bit of a playful tone entering his voice once again. It was both flattering that he not only suggested Taiwanese food but remembered that he was Taiwanese. He had grown up on the island as was one of the first things he mentioned to the Nephilim but he was born in Taiwan. He doesn’t know much of where he comes from by way of who his birth parents were or what happened to them but as a child, his guardian who happened to be Chinese-American and participated in several Chinese traditions, both taught Ettein Mandarin and English as well as some Chinese traditions and encouraged him to study Asian culture. Though he is Taiwanese by nationality and half Chinese, half Japanese by ethnicity, the dialect of his Mandarin is Chinese rather than Taiwanese and he has a slight Chinese accent to his English as well. Though he grew up being exposed to both Chinese and American culture due to his guardian partaking in both, he did study other Asian cultures throughout his childhood as well as his other teachings and still is studying other cultures and languages. He still considers himself Taiwanese however, as that is his nationality by birth, even though he has been living on the island all his life.

“Uhm…thanks.” He smiled in response to Jericho being ok with him borrowing his clothing for longer than simply keeping him from being nude for the moment. At the comment about the cologne, his blush did deepen a bit and he gave a ‘I guess so’ along with a light laugh as a reply. As Jericho went to grab his jacket, Ettein took a quick trip to the bathroom to check himself in the mirror and be sure he didn’t look like a total mess after having been hiding under his bed for a week straight. After taking a moment to smooth out his hair with his hands, he grabbed one of his own jackets, slipped on a pair of shoes he had sitting by the door and exited the room with a quiet ‘thank you’ for Jericho’s courtesy of holding the door open.

Ahh sorry it took so long. I was busier yesterday than I thought I'd be.
