Lucas was standing talking to a group of students, it wasn't a big group by anymeans but it was enough of a group that he was able to practice getting his message across. If he was being honest with himself, there was not a lot of time for him to be shy. He just felt so passionate about winning this darn thing, that he was...unsually friendly? It was easy for him to be affected by his aura but he was hoping that it would effect other people this time as well. It was the first time that he every truly tried to project his aura on other people. If he inspired them even if artifical, he had a chance of winning. Lucas wasn't surprised by these thoughts, he knew that when it came to aquiring something he wanted he had questionable morals. He just never had such intense wants for something this superfical.

Still Lucas tried his best to project his aura on to other people, he didn't know if it worked. Was there a rules against powers even if they were something he couldn't control? Who needed to know that he was trying to control it right? There was no time for a sense of fair play, not when he was 'in it to win it' so to speak. Yes he might have googled some up to date words so he didn't sound old fashion. He might have also watched countless youtube videos on how to work his phone so he wouldn't seem to out of date.
.
Just as he was about to go finish putting up his statues he saw his niece.. Running over he attemped to flag her down. "Shay! Just the person I was hoping to run into" now to just oncinvce her to convince her friends to vote for him.

"Don't bother," Shay said once she reached Lucas. She was holding paper under her arms. "I already told Vito I would help you. Family sticks together, right?" She tried to smile, but it came out more as a cringe. Christ. It was better to be support than in the main light. "So, here's what I've got." She unrolled one of the posters from under her arm to show it off to him. It was sparkly like that effect was added by Addy, and it had neat block letters to spell out Lucas' full name.

"Give me a slogan to add," she said as she laid the poster on a table and withdrew a packet of markers from her backpack. "And please tell me you've thought of one. I'm not into making slogans...or school spirit."

Lucas did not have a campaign slogan, mostly because he had no idea what he wanted to do. Of course he would listen to the students but any canidate could say. He thought about it and stated " yeah, my campaign slogan is Aspire to Inspire" He said rubbing the back of his neck. Of course as an artist his greatest goal was to inspire others, to be as creative as possible. So why not turn that into a campaign? The wheels were turning in his head, yes he could do this. He figured he could take a hippie slash artistic approach to this whole thing.

He looked at the poster and he smiled a bit at Shay. "I really do apprecaite your help Shay. I know you don't really like this kind of stuff." He smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck again. He knew he was probably going to need a lot of help, he had just moved to the island and he was already trying to run for president. If anything he'd be lucky to get Secretary but he wasn't going give up at all.

Shay smiled more genuinely at Lucas before writing his slogan down in bold, elegant letters. She sat at the table, pulling more posters from her backpack and art supplies. She was feel energized, and there was no doubt in her mind she could do this.

"No, I don't like these types of things, but if I'm going to help, we're in it to win it, right? Do You want me on poster duty or something else? I'm not sure about everything you'll need, but I'll do whatever I can."

Shay's hand shook with excitement as she looked around. There were a lot of people, and she wasn't known for getting along well in social situations. Shay was a better artist than she was a talker, and that wasn't saying much. Her handwriting was elegant when she needed it to be, but that took a good few minutes of her time.

Lucas nodded smiled back "Poster duty is fine, I think I'm gonna finish animating everything to say vote for Lucas and then try to talk to some people?" It wasn't a secret that Lucas wasn't very good with words. However he decided to treat this election the way he would an art gallery. He needed to make a speech..in front of a lot of people. Just not a small group, he had to get his message across.

"This posters are great, you should consider maybe joining the art club" He said quickly allowing himself to he distracted by the art work before regaining focus. Okay, he needed to get focus, he touched one of the posters and the message faded in an out like he seen on those flashy menues as fast food resturants.

He went to tap a few more statues instead if them saying Vote for Lucas, he got them to say Luke Aspires to Inspire. All in all he figured setting up campaign posters and talking strategy was a good way to start.

"I figured before we tackle the the higher ups we get the younger years? I'm the youngest running, so maybe I can them on my side. If not there's always slander and making myself seem superior"

"You'd be up for mudslinging?" Shay wanted to laugh at how absurd it all seemed to her. "I don't think there will be a need for that, besides, don't we all have a bad enough rep around this school as it is? No need to add mudslinging to that long list of infamous rumors."

We all... Shay had to remind herself that she wasn't among them. She wasn't a demon; she was hardly a Rosales. Her lips pursed as she bit back the pain of those thoughts.

"The art club? Are you in it? Isn't Milo Constantin, the leader of the art club? He's one of the guys running in the election." She thought about that. She knew plenty of the names on the election, not personally, but she knew of them. She paid more attention to rumors than some people might have thought.

"A speech is a good idea. Somewhere people will notice you, and you have to talk firm. No stuttering. Half of this stuff is making shit up, honestly. When people ask you questions and things, it doesn't matter how stupid your answer is as long as you sound confident."

Lucas shrugged, he literally didn't care. "I dunno, if you do it right and remain anonymous, there's no harm done." Of course Lucas realized that they did have a slightly bad Rep. A lot of the demons in the school did. Which was something that she should obviously use to his advantage. After all who better to represent demons.... Than a demon?

Lucas groaned, he knew that was going to come up. "I've been doing good with the talking thing, I think I got it down. But I'll remember." He was going over speech topics in his mind.

"Where do you think I should start first?"

"Maybe talk about the demon stuff? Something you're passionate about, Lucas, that passion will show and people will be drawn to it." Shay looked back down at her work, focusing on it. People were loud here and everything was full of school spirit.

"Yeah you're right, I have a list of things I need to address, but that would be a major one." What was he passionate about? Lucas was pretty sure that was art, family and fairness...in that order. Of course his fairness was slowly slipping past him the more this election went forward.

"I think we should also watch that Vince guy. He's bound to say shit that I can use to make myself seem..like a better choice..I really worry this island sometimes." Lucas admitted, his niece was pretty much the only person he had admitted that to. Taking his bag of buttons, he took a deep breath.

"This shouldn't be too much of train wreck..right?"

"Nothing you say can be as much of a train wreck as Vince," Shay said, having already checked out Vince's campaign. "But, Lucas, you don't need to make other people look bad, you can look plenty good without having to do that. Adress the demon thing, address art. Talk about your passions. You'll be fine. This is just a student elections, Luke."
