Everto finished setting up the firing range.
As he looked at the target, his eyes lit up with fire. Soon, balls of flame began shooting out of them and at the target.

Adelina walked into the gym, wearing black shorts and a T-shirt. She had planned on running laps, but upon seeing someone practicing — and fire at that — she decided not to.

She walked up to him. "Hello. That was pretty impressing... the thing with the fire and your eyes... not even I can do that. Mind if I practice with you?"

Everto looked at the new arrival, his eyes still blazing with a feirce white fire.
"No, I do not mind." he said softly, his voice cold and cruel and always.
Staring once more at the target, he began to feel the fire build up within him once more.

Adelina looked at one of the targets. Her eyes became red with concentration as she formed a ball of fire in her hand, and threw it at the target.

The fire had hit the side of the target, not the middle where she hoped it would have hit. At least it didn't land on the wall or something... she thought to herself.

"I'm Adelina, but you can call me Addie," she said as she formed another ball of fire in her hand.

"My name is Everto." he replied, and sent another stream of fireballs at the target, hitting it right in the middle and utterly destroying it.

Adelina watched, her eyes wide open in amazement.

She formed another fire ball, and aimed a little more carefully this time. She threw it... but once again, it didn't hit the middle. Closer, yes, but still not the middle. And to add to her disappointment, the target wasn't completely destroyed. A few broken pieces, but nothing like Everto had just done.

"How did you do that?" she asked, hoping he could point her in the right direction.

"I've always been able to do it. I haven't always been able to do it when I wanted to." His message was cryptic, and sensing that she wanted to learn how to do it, he continued, his voice as cold as ever
"I take all the fury, and ager and hatred. Concentarte on all those things, and feel it build up. Aim, then just let it all go."
He moved on the the next target.

"Fury, anger, and hatred... got it..." Adelina thought for a moment, trying to think of one of the things she most hated and was most angry at.

Then she remembered. Back at her old school, the day she discovered her power. But she had come to love her power... no, that wouldn't work.

She thought again. Alright, that should work.

Thinking of a different memory, a terrible memory, Adelina created another ball of fire. Her eyes became a much deeper shade of red without her noticing or even knowing.

She threw the ball of fire at her target. Success. The ball of fire hit the middle, and although it didn't break into a thousand pieces, but it had caught on fire, making it nothing more than a pile of ashes.

She smiled widely, quite satisfied that she had done that. She looked at Everto. "Thanks for your help!"

Adelina moved onto the next target, hoping the same thing would work again.

Everto clicked his fingers. A ball of flame appeared in his hand, and he threw it at the target. I hit the middle, leaving a scorch mark but not destroying it. Which was extactly what Everto wanted.
He began to stare at the target, and his eyes lit up again. But this time no fireballs came shooting out of them. Instead, his entire body became engulfed in flame, white and bright, as he concentrated on the target before him.

Oh my.

Adelina extinguished flame she had started in her hand, watching Everto with her full attention. She had never seen something like that before in her life, and it greatly interested her. She wanted to see what he was about to do, and didn't want to miss anything. Adelina wasn't staring, though, just watching without turning her attention to something else.
