Following Erione's patient instructions, Azucena cautiously made her way behind him to the recycling area of the school. The box was significantly lighter too thanks to Erione, and consequently, that made their trek so much more easier.

Once inside the spacious ground floor room that the school used to store its recycling, Azucena placed the box of glass bottles and containers on a long table next to a box of jars and cans that were most likely from the cafeteria.

Turning around just as Erione asked about what she did in the labs, Azucena was confronted with a delicate and very pretty ladybug pin. An unexpected gesture that left her feeling kind of stunned as well as warm and fuzzy inside.

"You really don't need to give me anything," she told him as she accepted the pin which she automatically turned over in her one hand, marvelling at the same time at how lovely it was.

"I make tinctures. They are sort of like potions, but they are made from parts of a plant soaked in alcohol," she explained as she offered to show Erione how she went about doing such a thing that afternoon if he was free.

Erione looked around at the recyclables waiting to be processed and nodded to himself. It was kind of a happy place, he decided. Not because things were taken there after they had finished fulfilling their purpose, but because there was promise there of a brand new use for each and every item there. Or maybe that was just Erione's sunny optimism.

"I don't have to, but I have plenty of little trinkets. More importantly though I want to give it to you." Either way his offer of the pin was barely a question, slipping it safely into her hand with the sharp bit tucked safely into it's catch. It actually wasn't made of glass. He'd been given the polished and painted piece of shaped scrap metal by a nice little girl whose father was a metalworker. A cute gift given in thanks, perfect for this occasion too.

He listened intently to her description as if it was the most important thing he had heard all day and then he grinned. "I would love to see it in action. I don't have any real plans for the afternoon anyway so why not spend a little time learning something new. As long as i'm not taking you away from anything- not everyone thinks the school is a cool hangout spot after classes." Based on his smile he clearly didn't think that way, personally. Well that and the fact that he had already been obviously still around school after classes on his own anyway.

Flattered by Erione's kindness and generosity, Azucena couldn't think of any reason not to accept the pin and so, instead of pocketing it, she carefully pinned it to the blouse she was wearing.

"Thank you. It's very pretty," she confessed as she smiled shyly at Erione, staring a little too long at the god perhaps.

"Oops, we should probably go," she stated, somewhat startled as two other students unexpectedly came into the room bearing two large garbage bags of soda cans and bundles of used and broken down cardboard boxes.

Once in the hallway and out of the way of the other students who were bringing in more bags of cans, Azucena remembered that Erione was okay with joining her as she distilled some herbs that afternoon.

"I don't live at the school," she explained as they headed towards the labs. "So I don't mind hanging out here after classes. Besides, it's a little too cold yet to go hiking after class, or to hang out outside," she added, nodding at a classmate that greeted her as they climbed a set of stairs to the second floor Science lab.

He couldn't help smiling over and over again. No literally, he couldn't really help it. Between how sweet Azucena was being and the actual supernatural effects of her appreciating him helping her making him extra happy it just kept happening.

Erione didn't especially notice the extra staring but when they were interrupted by other students he just laughed a little and headed out with Azucena, following her towards the stairs. Where he paused a little bit. "That makes sense. I sometimes stay late to work on some art, but I have shrines to tend to so I like to spend a little extra time at those when I can. In a way theyre more my home than my dorm room is," he laughed and then glanced up at the stairs before going ahead up with her.

"I'm not usually out hiking much. Athletics really don't come naturally to me at all." His breathing was getting heavier as they climbed, marking in as fairly out of shape despite his quite thin and light figure. "But that sounds really peaceful. You must be really into nature!" Erione was letting her lead the way to the lab since he didn't know which one exactly they were going to- otherwise he might have been able to travel there via glass instead. But it was nice to keep her company too even if he was a little slower up the stairs.

Azucena stopped suddenly on the stairs. "You have shrines?" she asked in awe, very clearly surprised to learn that about Erione. She had not really entertained the idea of him having a place - or various places - of worship until now.

Erione had to stop short, very nearly bumping into Azucena when she halted suddenly on the stairs. Fortunately he had been trailing behind a little. "Oops. Didnt know you were gonna stop" he said, but softened things a little with a chuckle. He gripped the railing to steady himself for a moment before nodding at her original question.

"Yeah, one of them is actually at the edge of the woods. It's really cozy and has really pretty glass windchimes outside of it and super soft cushions inside. I could show you sometime if you wanted. The other one's at an art gallery but you mentioned liking the forest so I figured that might be more comfortable for you."

"Oh, god... Forgive me," Azucena quickly apologized, embarrassed and somewhat mortified that she had stopped in the middle of the staircase, and without thinking.

Starting up the stairs again, Azucena climbed the five remaining steps to the second floor, hurrying out of the way so that she wasn't in the way of anyone else coming up or down the stairs.

When Erione caught up with her, she looked at him sheepishly. "Sorry about that," she said. "And, yes... I would love to see your forest shrine sometime," she confessed. "I don't think I've ever been to one before," she admitted.

"Cathedrals and churches, yes, but a shrine, I am pretty sure I've never been to any," she told him as they finally reached the Science room.

Erione covered his mouth to hide his laugh at that particular turn of phrase. He was indeed a good and he did indeed forgive her, but he knew that wasnt what she really meant.

"It's ok. Really, " he met her sheepish gaze with a soft smile and eyes that seemed to smile just as much as his mouth did. Which of course increased when she agreed to visit his shrine. "Perfect. I'm pretty sure you'll love it. But for now we see a different kind of shrine," he laughed and gestured towards the science lab door with a questioning quirk of his eyebrow.

"You know for my people schools are kind of holy places. So this lab might be considered a shrine to scientific knowledge. I'm really excited to learn about what you do in there." He was tempted to pat her on the shoulder or something to keep her from being so anxious but realized that might startle her so instead he formed a marble of green glass in his hand to occupy it, rolling the sphere between his fingers.

"Really?" Azucena remarked as they entered the science lab and headed toward her station. "Were there gods then oF Scientific Knowledge or Gods of Language Arts, too" she asked Erione very curious about that. She wasn't even sure if shrines could work without gods.

Grabbing a white lab coat from a drawer, Azucena put it on as she talked to Erione.

"I am not exactly sure what I do is considered all that exciting for most," she confessed with a wry grin.

"It's just taking plants that are medicinal or useful in some way, and placing them in alcohol, or oils even," Azucena explained as she grabbed a small basket of elderberries from a fridge and took them back to her station. "so that they release their phytocompounds."

Eri backed off a little bit to give her room to work, not wanting to interfere or accidentally spill anything on himself.

"Oh yeah, there are Lumian gods for nearly everything. But schools for us are where the mortals go to learn and spread knowledge and foster creativity. That makes them important focus points for our kind of pantheon," he explained cheerily as she put the lab coat on and began her preparations. Very methodical, he noticed.

"Maybe watching plants get slowly dissolved isnt very exciting to watch. But watching someone who's enthusiastic about the process and what you can do with it is pretty nice. Without you the plants would just remain plants." He genuinely was enjoying it even if it wasnt especially exciting. Though he was partially occupying his more fidgety tendencies with the ball of green glass rolling around in hid hands.

"Oh if you need any help I can move glass around for you. Or I can just stay out of the way and let the mad scientist work," he laughed.
