Uncannily as it seemed, that very afternoon, both the Natural Sciences and Chemistry teachers had asked Azucena if she could help them out by taking a rather large-ish box of used bottles, beakers and glass containers down to the recycling area. An after school chore that Azucena didn't mind doing since both teachers often allowed her to use the Science and Chem lab to dry out or distill the herbs, she had found in the woods, and make tinctures from them.

"Hey, hold the door open, pleeease!" Azucena exclaimed loudly as she hurried - as best as a person like her could with a large cardboard box of glass in her arms - down the hallway to the front door, the sound of glass clanging together as she moved.

"No, no, no... don't close, don'r ...just h-hold ...open the door," Azucena shouted just the box slipped from her embrace and hit the ground, a loud sound of glass breaking or shattering.

"Dammit it all," Azucena muttered in frustration and to herself as she watched in quiet dismay how the box tipped onto its side ad spilled some of its contents all over the school's main entrance and lobby.

Erione had stayed a little late after classes to put a couple finishing touches on a sculpture for art class, but had decided to stretch his legs just a little.

His casual ambling walk though turned into a strained jog as he heard the familiar sound of breaking glass. A very unpleasant thing to hear when he wasnt expecting it. But this wasnt coming from towards the art hallway. This was towards the main entrance. Did someone break the big windows on the front door?

He slowed and came to a stop though as he saw the actual source of the shattering noise. "Oh.... are you ok?" He asked between heavy breaths. Athletics being not one of his strong suits.

"Wait a moment before you move though, dont touch any of the glass- I don't want anyone to get cut." And he began to assert his power over the spilled glass shards to float them harmlessly back into the box. For now his focus was on checking the poor girl's condition before he took a look at what might be salvageable.

Just as Azucena was about to bend over and carefully try to clean up all the glass she had broken, she heard a boy's voice asking if she was alright. Glancing around to see who it was, Azu saw, to her surprise and quiet embarrassment, that it was Erione - the God of Glass. Had she just insulted him somehow by smashing a box full of bottles and beakers? Lord, she hoped not.

"It's okay, I'm fine," she rushed to assure him as she tried to help him clean up the mess. "The box accidentally slipped out of my arms," she explained sheepishly. "And I ... I wasn't fast enough to stop it from falling," she explained as she watched in amazement how Erione returned the glass shards to the box.

"That's, uh,... thank you," Azucena stated self-consciously as she looked at Erione grateful for all his help.

Erione smiled warmly and approached the wreckage. "You're welcome. I'm just glad you didnt get cut or anything. Glass I can fix, actually. Would you like me to salvage what I can?"

He gestured to the box and knelt down to get a better look. "Wow, that must have been a really heavy box. There's a lot in there- you must be pretty strong." Technically it didnt take much to be too heavy for Erione's own lifting abilities. But it was also a way of trying to ease her nerves with a not-so-hidden compliment.

Azucena looked with uncertainty at the box of broken bottles and glass containers. It had been fairly heavy, and very awkward to hold on to as well. In fact, she now realised, somewhat mortified, that that was probably partly why she had dropped it in the first place.

"I-I don't actually know," she confessed, looking rather distressed at not knowing. "The Science teacher asked me to take the box to the recycling area," she explained. "I have no idea whether the bottles need to be whole or not."

"Tell you what. I'll see what I can fix easily and help you get it where it needs to go. No need to be worried about it- I'm 100% sure they have plenty of glass containers to go around," he consoled as he opened the box the rest of the way and began repairing the ones that were salvageable. Technically he could have reformed all of the shards into brand new bottles and such but that would have taken a lot longer.

As he worked he glanced back up towards Azucena with a smile. "Did you volunteer to help out? I dont place you as someone doing this as part of detention or something like that." He laughed. She definitely didnt seem like the troublemaking sort.

Sure enough he was able to repair the larger, more intact items of glassware fairly quickly once he determined what shape each one was supposed to be

"Thank you, and no. I- I mean, yes, well, sort of," Azucena said flushed lightly, correcting herself as she fumbled a bit awkwardly answering his question.

"Mr. Larsen, my science teacher, asked me if I'd take down the glass to recycling," she explained, naming one of the school's Science teachers.

"I said yes 'cause he lets me use the lab once in a while to distill my tinctures," Azucena said as she watched, in quiet awe, how Erione fixed a lot of what she had accidentally broken.

When the young god was done, Azucena felt both relieved and grateful too, and it probably showed. "You are really good at that, at fixing glassware," she stated shyly, visibly impressed by what he had just done.

Erione beamed with pure, genuine delight as she complimented his work. "Glass really is kinda my thing. I'm glad I could help even if they just get recycled. Honestly i'm glad recycling is such a big deal here- definitely a big fan." With that he laughed and stood back up from where he'd been kneeling.

"Still sounds like you volunteered to do something nice in my book even if you had other reasons to agree to it. But, we should get these taken care of so you can get back to your tinctures or whatever else you have planned for the afternoon. If you stay close I can probably help make the glass a lot lighter to carry." His control over the glass could make at least most of it float and drastically decrease the weight. Plus he definitely wanted to make sure she made it there safely.

"You seem like a really thoughtful, nice person. That's wonderful."

Blushing when Erione complimented her, Azucena found that she didn't quite know how to respond. She rarely had anyone, except her moms, and maybe her sisters, comment on how nice she was. Did she compliment him back, or did she thank him, or both? She wasn't sure.

"You also seem like a nice person," she admitted shyly, opting to compliment him back as she walked over to the box to pick it up again.

"And, uh, do you mean like this?" she asked hesitantly as she lifted up the box of glass, this time gripping it a little better as she stood kinda close to Erione, but not too close. She didn't want to crowd him or get in the way.

Erione's face lit up with the returned compliment. "I try to be, it's a big part of who I am. If I can't brighten someone's day then they just aren't trying.

He watched as she began to pick up the box and again smiled happily back at her. "Exactly like that. I'll get the doors since my hands are free." And with that he made some of the glass within the box float a little along with the movements of the box. Effectively lightening the load, an effective if a slightly complicated method.

To that end he moved to open the door that originally caused the whole situation in the first place. "Right this way. Watch your step on the threshold there. Perfect," he led her along at a fairly slow and careful pace. Both because their movements were a little tricky- kind of like a push-me pull-you kinda deal, and because he didn't want to trip up himself and make things way worse.

"Would you mind showing me what you use the lab for sometime? You have me curious. I can even pay you with..." he rummaged around in his pockets pulling out a couple odds and ends before settling on one of the many colorful pins stuck to his jacket. "A nice shiny ladybug pin."
