Taking a walk

Ian walked along the side of the lake looking at the water and the moon's reflection off it. He picked up a flat rock that was on the ground and skipped it across the water. 1...2...3...4... he counted the times it skipped across the lake until it finally sunk under.

Ian looked up at the moon and slowly sat down on the shore of the lake looking out onto the water. He proped his elbows up on his knees and then rested his head on his arms and continued to watch the ripples in the water from the light breeze that was blowing.

Kacey walked to the lake. She yawned, she couldn't sleep. She noticed someone by the lake. Kacey didn’t know if she should still go there maybe that person was there because they wanted to be alone or something. But she did walk all the way there, and she didn’t want it to be for no reason. So Kacey walked closer to the lake, and smiled at the boy. She sat down on the ground all without saying a word.

Ian looked at the girl who sat next to him. He didn't say anything nor did he object to it. "Hi." Ian said quietly, almost in a whisper but not quiet.

Kacey looked at him for a moment, then back at the lake. "Hello." Kacey said back to him, she wasn't good with starting conversations. Kacey had been alone almost all her life and she wasn't too talkative.

"Kacey Allen." She said, she looked up to the sky. She never seen such a clear moon before. "Your new to aren't you?" She asked as she turned to look at him. Kacey knew he was new because she could sense. Her powers told her so.

"Uh..yeah." said Ian as he continued to look out onto the lake. Ian ran one of his hands back through his hair and places his arm back onto his knees and rested his head on his arms again. His bangs fell back into his eyes as he put his head on his arms.

Kacey decided on not talking anymore, Maybe he didn't want to talk to me. Kacey thought. "If you wanted to be alone, I'll leave." She said, she didn't want to disturb him from whatever he was doing before she got there.

"No." said Ian rather quickly, "It's fine." In truth, Ian was glad she was there and that he wasn't completely alone anymore.

"Ok then....." She said, This place isn't that bad... Kacey thought, thinking about how she could have been at home right now in her own room, in her 'comfort zone' as she called it. Who was she kidding she hated it here.
