Ah, Jeriya was sweet as a honeysuckle, and that was what Vinnie had told him when he offered to help the Gem set up his posters, booths, and assist in creating the dolls for Vinnie's Build-A-Doll idea. He had offered to help with the baking, too, but Vinanye had informed Jeri that Milo planned on helping with that. Milo still wanted to know more about the Fae and Vin so did love talking about his people.
Yes, he was sweet as a honeysuckle, and he blushed bright as a rose when Vinanye told him as much. Somewhere along the line of their friendship, they'd fallen into the routine of dating. That was all a little weird for Vin because he'd never dated before. It had never crossed the Fae's mind until now. Vinanye supposed, if he tried out dating with anyone, it might as well be Jeri!
They had gotten a pile of dolls done, nearly fifty by this point, and Vin had put Jeriya on poster duty. In the end, they'd have far fewer posters than dolls, but that's how Vinanye wanted it.
"I am going to make a blue-eyed one, with blonde hair," Vinnie said out of the blue while taking a moment to appreciate the partially created doll in his hand.

Jeriya had to be the luckiest man on the island. As of now, he was dating one of the prettiest people on the island for sure, with his snowy hair and water like eyes. Every time he looked at Vinanye, the butterflies seemed to go off in his stomach; swirling out and making him go into a lovely mood of happiness. Jeriya wouldn't tell anyone that he was pretty much in love, as it was obviously too early in their relationship for such things. He couldn't help it if it he was a big hopeless romantic and that Vinnie had given him exactly what he wanted in a partner.
"Oh?" He glanced over from putting tape on a poster. He only smiled, thinking that it so very closely resembled the boy's own appearance. Cute. "I will be excited to see it honey, like I was with all the others." Everything that the pretty boy did was elegant to him, like a wave of perfection had hit him as a child. Though Jeriya wasn't the best with this whole election thing, he would of course help his beloved counterpart.

Vinanye giggled as he looked at Jeri, getting back to sewing the dolls up and putting them in a large garbage bag. "I won't be decorating all of them! Are you going to come to the doll party? Decorate with me?" Vin grinned at the idea, sunny about the possibility of Jeriya showing up with him.
Truthfully, Vinanye didn't understand how any of this worked either, nor would he have considered himself good at campaigning. He simply did as he saw fit, and really, it was likely Vin would not run again, but this was a good human experience, and he could do some good to boot, so why not? It wasn't like Vinnie was expecting to win.

His smile was utterly adorable, just beckoning Jeriya over to want to kiss those lips. He didn't though, only giving a flushed look as he thought for a second. Dolls weren't really his thing. Frankly, if he was in a room alone with them, he would most likely be freaked out rather than flattered or excited. He nodded though, putting up the poster firmly before he gave a real answer. "Of course, anything you need from me-" He bowed like a gentleman would. "I will do for you." Giving the boy a kissed on the top of his head, he crouched down beside him and observed his doll making skills.
Vinnie smiled, laughed a little as Jeriya kissed his head. He returned to sewing, mind working on overdrive. Ambition had Vinnie thinking, but his mind was far from the campaign. Maybe this was because Vin lacked competitiveness, he didn't know.
"Jeri... I am confused about this dating thing. What does it entail where you are from?" It had gotten so much easier to talk to people the more Vinanye took classes and spoke the language. He could finally understand most of their words. He thought these were most of their words, anywho.

Jeriya seemed to zone out as he watched with fondness as Vinanye worked. His hands seemed so delicate, taking his time to make every stroke of the needle count. When his boyfriend asked him a rather open ended question, he only stood there, unsure of what to answer. "Well, when you are dating someone, it means that you treat them just a bit better than everyone else you know. You respect them and make sure that they feel cherished and loved, yeah?" It was definitely a lot to process, but he hoped that the boy understood. "And then hopefully, you get married and have children with someone you are dating." Now that comment may have been a bit too out there.
"Yes, marriage, I understand that." Vin paused. "But I work at Temptations? And you are okay with this? I like my job, and I like the friends I have made. I am not sure I wish to change those things."
Vinnie didn't like saying it, but he had just gotten comfortable. It may have been easy for people to imagine that Vin was always comfortable or happy, but that was hardly the truth. He grew as nervous or restless as anyone else. And he had felt like that when first coming to Manta Carlos, even if he had hidden it behind a smile and cheery voice.

"I mean, it's not like we are going to get married anytime soon." He shook his hands in front of him, signalling a big no. Vinanye still needed to learn a lot about the island and how it's customs worked it seemed. As much as he would love to marry the man, that was way too quick of a process. "Well." It was a sore topic for him, having to be dating someone that got paid to have sex. It was a blow to his own self esteem really, as it put the image in his mind that he wasn't good enough for Vinanye, that he never would be compared to everyone else. "I worry about you is all. I don't want you to get hurt or anything." It was true that Jeriya wanted him out of that line of work, but that didn't mean that he had to give up his friends. "I think that, if we did want to go that far that, I would appreciate you toning that down." He wouldn't say why though, not now. "But anyways." Keeping it all on a lighter note was a better plan. He nuzzled the boy's face, hoping that he hadn't upset him.
Vinanye was hardly upset, but he knew half-truths when he heard them. He stared at Jeri, then frowned, struggling to get back into his lighter mood of earlier. He was quiet as he finished up his workload on the dolls and helped Jeriya with the final touches on the posters.
Once everything was done, Vinnie gathered up the posters to go out and put them up, keeping Jerya with him. Only then, nearly a half hour later, did Vinnie finish their earlier conversation. He had put much thought into his response.
"I wish you would tell the whole truth," Vinanye said, staring firmly ahead before turning to one of the school walls and putting his poster up as high as he could manage. "If something bugs you, I would like to know why otherwise I am reminded of the bad times at home."
