Charlie finished meeting with some informants in a cafe. He acquired the information he wanted from them and had it all recorded for the case. It would prove viable to him and most importantly those on the case. His smirk expressed clear satisfaction. The sharply dressed man strolled down the sidewalk. While he could just make a portal and pop back to the police station, he didn't feel like doing that. He wanted to walk and take in the sights. Who knows, maybe he would run into one of his fellow officers or buddies on the way back. He remembered Damon had to work on the field for something.

As he walked back, he noticed something odd. Well, if you can call a candy seller odd. It wasn't the seller so much as that seller's choice of location being odd. Who sells candy in front of a police station? This cute little girl apparently, and some officers were eating it right up. Thinking about it, he kind of wanted a treat or two himself. He waltzed over to the place and rolled up right in front of the small crowd of people.

"What's the candy for, kid?"

Kaitlyn was trying to do everything she normally wasn't able to do before, now that she was on the island. That included joining the girl scout troupe that encompasses the orphanage where she worked. She knew that they were selling cookies and if she sold the most she would get the prettiest pink and purple bike she had ever seen. Which is why instead of sitting in front of the grocery store where there was cookies and candy bars inside she was at the police stations. After all didn't they like donuts and stuff?? She was actually making a killing, she had left and came back twice with new supplies, her troupe leader was so proud. Though some of the kids thought her rich parent were buying them all that was fine.

She saw a guy come up and she smiled "Good afternoon officer I'm selling cookies and candy on behave of Manta Carlo Toupe 4762 I'm a butterfly scout" She said batting her eyelashes and putting her most adorable face on. Please no see through the fascade of her just wanting a pretty bike, she never had one.

"Would you like to help us reach our goal to go the girl scout Jaboree?" She set her stuffed rabbit on his chair and held out the form for him to fill out.

The green-haired man was no fool. While he totally wasn't against buying snacks from a little girl, he can tell when a little girl was playing up her cuteness factor. A big grin spread on his face. It would be fun to engage in a conversation with her, and he gained food out of it. He made a mental note to buy some for Damon and his daughter Melanie. He would probably appreciate that. Charlie adjusted his fedora as he checked out the goods.

"Sure thing!"

He pulled out a pen and started scribbling down his information into the form. He took note of what he was getting. He was buying quite a number of edible goodies. Not enough to clean her out, but it was certainly a generous donation towards her goal. As he did this, he spoke in a lower voice as his eyes remained glued to the form.

"What's the prize they're offering, kid?"

He was curious as to what was really compelling her to do this. Scouts generally used incentives to get children into selling lots of stock. There was always a reward for the best seller. It's not like he was going to stop her of course. Actually he was thinking of encouraging this. Girl was pretty cute and definitely crafty. She could use a push in the right direction. He finished signing and handed the form back to her. He reached into his jacket to put away the pen in exchange for his wallet.

Kaitlyn smiled brightly when he filled out the form. She could count money but she could write very well. She also couldn't read names, but she was getting better at it. She also had a money counter and a calculator that drew to help her out. She didn't want any of the shadows cops trying to het over on her. If she was short she couldn't get the bike.

"Prize... there's a jubulee for the whole troop if we raise enough!" She said looking behind h and waiting for the people to be outta hearing range and even then she lowered a voice.

"A pretty pink and purple ten speed bike with wheels that look like rainbows. I'm about to sell my way into a free bike" She said sweetly, but the snicker was in her voice as she smiled brightly.

Ooo, a bike! A pink and purple bike. Of course they would give that as a prize to the girls. His smirk widen. This kid was smart. She chose to come to the police station during lunch hour. That was when people would be hungry, and many people rather enjoyed snacks. It was just fortunate for her that this wasn't a day the police chief brought in goodies for the station. Commander Kaciania had a habit of doing that. He successfully pulled out his wallet and opened it up. He had a good amount of cash on him.

"How much per box?"

He did a good job keeping up the external appearance of just being a nice man buying some treats from a child. Well, that was what was happening, but it was also a conversation to learn more about this candy seller.

"Bike's for the top seller, right? I could hook you up with some good locations to sell at."

Why not help this crafty cutie out? He chose to buy quite a number of goodies that would require him to have at least two bags if not three.

"Three dollars" Kaitlyn said as soon the officers went back inside to finish their shifts and she was left on the sidewalk with Charlie. She didn't have a lot of time to sell cookies between school and curfew at the orphanage but she figured she could halt her bow selling to sell these cookies. She was very good at getting suckers to fall for her cuteness and buy things. It's something she learned back in France when she didn't want to spend the day in the orphanage but didn't have pocket money to buy anything that would warrant her staying outside.

"Yes, but that's just amount of cookies, the prizes for amount of money vary on sum and I'm hoping to get all the prizes. I need to get decorations and stuff for my room at the orphanage. They have a little candy piggy bank if you raise enough money"

She said showing Charlie the flyer detailing the prizes for amount of money raised and the flyer for selling the most cookies from her troop leader. She had a plan, and she was slowly getting there. There was still two weeks left and she was almost to her goal of raising enough money, she just had to make sure she was top seller.

"Hmmm, what do you want out of it?"

She asked suspiciously because even though she was only five and half she knew how people worked. They only helped you when they could get something in return. As much as she wanted to being trusting, being in front of a police station and all...her experience in life had taught her otherwise.

He calculated with ease how much money he would need to pay for the cookies. Math came easy to him. He taught it and utilized it for his job as ferryman. After all, he had to regularly count out all the souls he was bringing and make sure that there were no miscalculations. One miscalculation could mean a massive escape of tormented souls, and escaped tormented souls create all sorts of problems. Of course buying candy wasn't nearly as dire, but he didn't want to rip himself or the little girl off.

He handed over the correct amount of cash and took a glance at the flyer. Damn, they were offering some amazing prizes! A free iPad would be awesome. His head nodded as his eyes kept scanning the paper.

"Those are some good prizes..."

She then questioned what was in it for him. Why did he want to help her? He didn't have much reasoning besides "for the lulz". That's how Charlie functioned. He did things because they were fun. He shrugged at the little girl.

"I just felt like helping out a crafty little girl with her selling. But I am bored, so it would be nice if I could come with you. I want to see how many people you can pull in with your tactics."

He took what he purchased and bagged it up into a couple of bags. How did he have them? Uh, either he got them from her or magic. Just plain magic. DON'T QUESTION THE FEDORA MAN!

"Mind if I come along?"

Kaitlyn nodded as she took the flyer back she didn't need the flyer getting into the wrongs hands, her cover would be blown. Of course there was nothing wrong with getting incentives for selling things. Everyone did, they worked on commission, got employee of the month or a vacation to Hawaii. Kaitlyn just happened to be getting a ten speed bike pink and purple bike with sick wheels. Not that she even knew how to ride a bike but that was all a minor detail. She could learn once she had the bike in question, in her possession.

Kaitlyn studied him for a moment and then tilted her head, weighing her options. She was able to stay out past the shift change so she wouldn't be able to catch the officers coming in or going home. She also didn't think the Market was a good place. It was a good idea to get Help from the man but she just didn't trust good help for seemingly no reason.

"Okay, I'll accept your help. Also you should see me at my day job. I think the lady that passes the elementary school building had fifty of my bows and only four inches of hair. It's in the accent"

She basically bragged packing up her stuff and tucking it in the wagon so she could easily move to the next location. Regardless of whether or not she was crafty, she had a curfew. Unlike her previous guardians he seemed to actually pay attention to when she left and things. though she still did manage to get into trouble but that was mostly because she had the tendency to draw and then realize it was with one of her magic pens. Sometimes drawing a dinosaur that likes to eat math work in class...isn't the best thing to do with a magic pen that brings things to life.

"Okay lead the way"

Ohoho, what a cocky little girl. He enjoyed the confidence. Of course, he was convinced it'd be harder to trick him. Then again, didn't he technically fall for her ploy by buying from her? Well anyway, he watched the girl pack up her stuff. He would have assisted, but he didn't want to alarm her or make her think he was trying to jip her. So he waited patiently until she was done. He heard from her that she also sold hair bows. Yeah, that wasn't his thing. His hair was too short and always in a fedora, and he'd be damned if he took off his fedora.

A snap of his fingers opened up a portal. The other side of the portal led to another part of town. It was one of the residential neighborhoods. Why he chose this neighborhood specifically was because at this specific time, flocks of people went strolling through. It was somewhat close to Downtown but far enough to make travelling to the sweet shops a real trek. By selling on this particular block during the rush, she was likely to make lots of dealings with sweet tooth fanatics. He knew this because the ice cream truck liked to target this area; however, with the colder weather, no one would want ice cream. This is why the ice cream trucks stop running this time of year.

"Step right through here!"

His portal powers certainly came in handy. It cut travel time so that they could get to key locations in a flash. The faster they got there, the more sales the little girl could make.

Kaitlyn had packed up all her stuff and drew a rope to keep all the stuff, carefully packed in her wagon. Of course her Monkey butlers weren't far away. She was still working out how to turn his girl scout thing into a profitable business for herself. Sure she sold things for her scout troop but all that hard work for a few prizes? She was sure that she could make much more money if she somehow turned this whole badge earning thing into a profit. She could charge kids to help them earn their badges...then again that was wrong. Though business did it all time, offering workshops and stuff for money to better themselves. Though she was sure that it was all a scam, most late night special business shows were all scams.

Kaitlyn carefully walked up to the portal and studied it, she knew that almost everyone on the island had a special power so it would go to reason that Charlie would have a power. However she wasn't sure she trusted the stranger yet and stepping through a portal was...a bit of a trust leap. For all she knew it was all an illusion and the portal actually lead to some alternate dimension. Still she did recognize the part of town and she was sure that maybe she could draw a portal with her marker and then re-step through it...after all everything she drew came to life right?

Taking a deep breath she stepped through the portal and pulled her wagon beside her, she didn't want to lose her merchandise. She found a relatively big area and began to set up her booth, or rather her monkey butlers started to set up her booth because she was lazy.
