Faye's night was restless as usual. She tossed and turned, today she would go to the hospital and see if that's where Dante dropped the blue eyed guy off. It has been 4 days since the incident she felt bad that she hadn't went sooner, but she wanted to see why Dante would do such a thing. It confused her. She had went the next day and day after to look for him. Each day she looked for about an hour, but that's all she'd allow she didn't want to get lost. Also, she's a small girl, and had no way to defend herself.

She pushed Dante to the side of her mind, he clearly didn't want to be found, if he did he would have surely shown up in the woods those days. Faye got ready, throwing on a purple shirt, and black shirt. She just left her hair straight.

She slipped on some shoes, grabbed her bag which contained a sketch book, a book, and some other things. She walked out the door of her dorm and made her way to the hospital.

The city wasn't very crowded at the moment, many people must have been in work and at school she thought. She continued her way and spotted the hospital in the distance. Only a little bit longer and hopefully she'd get the chance to see this mysterious boy she knew so little of.

She walked through the door and asked the nurse at the front desk, "Hi, my name is Faye and I was looking for a boy, I'm not sure his name, but he might have been brought here a few days ago, he was injured really bad and I needed to make sure he was okay. Is there any chance I could possibly see him?"

The nurse must have known who she was talking about because she immediately motioned for her to follow. She hadn't expected it to be that easy, at home you she wouldn't have been able to visit unless she were 18 or older or family. Here things were very simple.

She continually followed the nurse and panicked, what would she say to him? Should she have brought something? She clearly didn't think this trip through. The nurse stopped in front of the door and motioned for her to go in. Faye took a deep breath, and went through the door.

She peaked around the corner and his eyes were closed, she wondered if he was still unconscious or if he was just sleeping. She took note of the chair beside his bed and went to sit in it. She'd sit there for a while to see if he'd wake. This poor guy, she thought to herself. Why him? She took out her book and began to read, looks like she'd be here for a while.

It was dark. Everything was ever so dark. It was as if there was nothing in existence around him at this moment, at this time. It was all so scary. He didn't know how to react exactly in such a situation if such dire needs. He felt as if he was helpless as he began to get enveloped into the abyss that was his mind. He was so nervous as he fell and fell and fell into nothing but uncertainty. He tried his hardest to grasp anything that may have been near him as he fell, but nothing. Nothing could he felt, not even the air passing him by as he fell. He went through his emotions as well with this pit of endless despair. Agony, pain, fear, sadness, loneliness, etc. It was all there, and to him it was unbearable. He has no reason to feel this way.

As Shinji lay unconscious in his hospital bed, he was unaware of his settings and surroundings. Everything was a pure white. The floor, the door, the walls, the ceiling, the bed sheets. Everything was a beautiful and angelic white that was sure to blind anyone who stored at them for too long. Otherwise beautiful in nature, one could find the room disturbing and demented. Given too much time in a room of such brightness and such emptiness, anyone could easily fall into the pit of anarchy giving them a sense of of insanity. Luckily Shinji wasn't wake to even see this. The window was cracked slightly to keep a steady air flow in the room without it getting to muggy. There was no television set, there was no telephone either. There was nothing to keep the patient occupied while they recovered.

Shinji lay on his stomach for the duration of the time in the hospital. His injury was on his right side and back area, he would be in far greater pain to had laid on it. Though it is half way healed already over the 4 day period of him being in the hospital, he still has quite the amount of healing to go. Not to mention the therapy that he will need to give himself to get used to his body post injury. Stretching and workouts is the way to go but it would take some time to get used to it wither way. His healing isn't so good that he would come out of this without a reminder oif what happened. A scar has already began to firm on his right abdomen and is stretching across his back. Though within a few years, this scar may be gone if he avoids any further massive injuries, he will probably remember what happened for the remainder of his natural life.

Shinji is calm on the outside as he layers in his bed unconscious. On the inside, though, he is screaming for help. His body is motionless and his eyes are closed. His ripped ad blooded clothes are in the waste basket across the room and he now dawns a hospital gown of all white. The opening, though, is in the front since he lays on his stomach. Otherwise, his back and buttocks would be showing, that would be both unpleasant and indecent for for both Shinjuku and anyone who enters his room.

Little did he know, Shinji had a visitor. It had been Faye. The girl he had met at the cafe . She actually cane to see if he was fine? This would surely startle Shinji upon his wake. Why did she even come, they hardly even knew one another. Does she even know his name? Either way, it mist be nothing too serious. She must just be wondering where her boyfriend was. Though she may not get anything out of Shinji for a little while longer.

Faye had been at the hospital a while, she lost track of time because of her books. Books for her were like living in a whole new world. At her home in Tennessee it was how she liked to escape the real world, one book at a time. It was like living many different lives.

Faye came to the ending of chapter ten in her romance novel, and looked up she had been sitting here a little over an hour and he still hadn't woke up. He probably wouldn't for a while, but she couldn't leave. Not until she knew his name, and to let him know how bad she felt. It would have been terrible of her to just pretend it never happened.

She wondered what he would think whenever he woke up. Would he even want to see her? Or would he want her to leave. Was this a bad idea after all? Faye decided she would just have to find out, she would leave if he wanted to. She couldn't blame him if he never wanted to see her again. Especially after what happened.

Faye was the one who was suppose to be hurt not him. She should have been the one laying in the bed, she thought. Why would someone she barely knew risk his life for her? But if he hadn't would she even still be here? There was something different about this mysterious blue-eyed boy.

After a while, it began to feel as if Shinji had stopped falling through his pit of darkness. It was odd for him to notice something like this since he was obviously occupied with the feelings that the abyss gave him. How would he ever get out of this? This was a continuous question that echoed through the confines of his mind and would probably stay there for a while. It felt more as if he was floating or levitating rather than falling through the immense darkness. Maybe this was a sign that he would be alright? Actually he wouldn't know. As weird as it may seem, Shinji didn't know that he was unconscious still from the events if what happened almost a week ago. He just assumed that he was lost in a sole filled darkness that left him baffled. He started himself as he made a discovery. There was a light at his left. It was odd to have found something of the sort so he tried to move towards it. This was difficult as one could imagine since there was nothing to hold on for was he walking, he was floating on the pure thought of there being no ground.

Soon as he attempted repeatedly to propel himself forward using nothing but his own body movements, his oath to the light seemed to have become a tunnel. How cliche. "The light at the end of the tunnel..." He thought himself as he tried to make sense of what was happening. It was rather blatant that something was held for him at the end of thus tunnel hut what could it he? The way out was the obvious answer though since there was nothing else that he could have though of that could be of some use to him at the moment. It would take him way too long to get there though at this rate. What is he going to do now? Well, he has no choice but to take his time in trying to get to the bright white light that shined through the darkness like the smile of a loved one in a depressing time.

An hour had passed in the world if the conscious and nothing had changed. Faye had been reading her book and had no problem with staying in the room with Shinji until he awakened from his slumber. Shinseki on the other hand had not moved, twitched, or made a sound in this time. Only his small, short breaths could be heard through the breeze that pushed through the cracked window. The curtains moved slightly like a ghost attempting a beautiful ballet dance and/or ceremony for the two. It was peaceful really. It was funny though, no one, nurse nor doctor, came to check on Shinji's condition. We're they that busy or did they just know that he w a alright? Possibly because he had a visitor and wanted to give privacy and hoped that she would know something was going wrong with his state and notify the proper personnel. Either way, it was slightly odd.

Going back, deep into Shinji's subconscious, he continued to push forward to what he believed to be the exit to this unspeakable nightmare. He performed many motions to get himself closer and closer to his destination. He swam, he pushed, he did everything his mind could think of. But nothing seemed to move him faster to his target. He was even unable to use his powers which really put a damper on things. But suddenly everything changed. What was happening? He thought continuously. Now everything seemed to be moving past him and the light seemed to move closer and closer to him. Maybe he was he one moving? Who knows and who cares. Within moments the light engulfed his very being and nothing could be seen, everything was bright. Before his knee it, his eyes were open and his vision blurred...

Faye found herself lost in her book, another hour had past and he still hadn't woken. She was beginning to wonder if he would ever wake up today. If not, she'd just have to come back again. She told herself if he didn't wake up in the next hour or so, she would go home.

She decided to put her book down, she forgot how bright hospitals were, and how clean most of them seemed to be. (Which she was obviously thankful for.) Everywhere she looked, white walls, white floors, white beds, white sheets, white everything. She wished hospitals were different, they were all pretty much the same in looks, just sometimes it depended on how well the hospital was.

Faye noticed that in the few hours that she was here no one came in to check on this boy, and no one came in to ask who she was. Did they respect privacy that much, or were they just bad doctors? Well obviously they couldn't be too bad, he seemed to be doing okay, just unconscious. Maybe they didn't come in while their patience had visitors. That just didn't make any sense though, you'd think they'd check on their patience.

Faye didn't realize she was staring at the wall until she heard a stirring movement, she looked up and it seemed to her as if the boy was waking up. She began to worry again, what if he didn't want her here? She'd just have to find out. She watched, and watched and finally he opened his eyes.

"Hey it's about time you woke up." She said with a quiet laugh. She'd hope it would lighten his mood, if he even realized where he was.

Shinji felt different as he tried to focus his vision. All he could see was white and a blot of color in the center of where he was looking. He didn't blink for quite sometime though. His bright blue eyes just stared in the straight line of sight that he had. His eyes were slightly dry as if he had jut wiped his eyes thoroughly after crying. It only took a few moments for his vision to completely come to without being blurry. He saw the he was in a room filled with nothing but white. He blinked a few times before looking in different directions. He saw the window, the floor, and the wall. It all looked so weird since he had awakened from his subconscious nightmare. Hopefully this wasn't just another segment of such a nightmare. It wasn't until he saw a familiar face that he realized that he was awake.

He didn't speak as he continued to look at her face. It took him a few.moments to register what was happening right now. Why was Faye here right now? They don't even know each other. Upon his waking up, she spoke to him. He didn't respond immediately though, his tongue seemed as if it wasn't even there anymore, bot to mention the dryness of his mouth. "Ugh...Faye...?" He managed to say. He tried to sit up but was stopped by a little singe if pain. He stopped and kept his current position.

To Shinji, the room wasn't as bright. His eyes were naturally made to dim the brightness of the world so his eyesight wouldn't suffer from the brightness of his powers. He began to speak again but this time he had a better grip on his tongue to say more and with better sounds. "Faye? What are you doing here?" Wait, am I in a hospital?" He asked. He was confused on both the subjects as he didn't know Faye well enough for her to visit him nor did he know that he was in a hospital since he had forgot most of what previously happened. He will be even more surprised to find that he had been out cold for four days straight.

Faye watched as he tried to adjust his vision. It must have been his first time waking up since the incident with Dante. She wondered what was running through his mind. Where he was? What had happened? No doubt those were the things that he was thinking.

"Ugh, Faye," She heard him say. He remembered her name, she thought, but she still hadn't known his. A few second later he said, ""Faye? What are you doing here? Wait, am I in a hospital?"

Oh no this is what she was preparing for, she felt as if he didn't want her here now. He was probably just annoyed at the fact she was still a stranger to him.

"I had to come, I know we barely know each other, hell I don't even know your name," she whispered, looking at her feet "I couldn't leave things like that, besides I should be the one in that bed, not you. Oh, and yes you're in the hospital. I haven't talked to a doctor or anything. I assume you'll be alright though."

She stopped, and paused looking up at him, "I'll go get a nurse or something, they'll want to know that you're awake."

Shinji, in this state was numb on most of his body. He could barely move do to his injury but that was the least of it. When he did move, he felt such immense pain deep in his body that it made him want to help in pain with our a second thought on it. But he, as a species of the male gender had too much pride in himself to actually do so. Even so, with the pain he would feel almost indefinitely, he began to move his body. He shifted to the side wincing with every centimeter of movement. His body felt as if was being torn in half not convention he could feel every part of the wound as he moved. In excruciating detail, Shinji felt the skin that had been severed, the neat that was moving and trying to reconnect itself, the muscles pulsating, and the organs repositioning.

Taking a breather, Shinji's stopped his moving to say something to Faye. "Shinji's, Shinji Itami" He Saud lowly and under his breath. It was loud enough for her to hear but not so loud as to be able to justify it as a normal voice. He looked at her with his bright blue eyes and grinned a little. After of which, he began to move again, this time his sat up whole doing so. This was so he wouldn't accidentally hurt his wound in anyway while it was healing still. He wishes that it could be done healing already but he Jonesboro moving faster than it would as a normal human. In fact, a normal human would be dead by now, really they would have died as soon as it happened.

Now he was sitting on his bottom and facing Faye. She was going to go get a worker of the hospital but Shinji puts his hand up and stops her. "There is no need" He assures her. If there was something wrong then he would have died a long time ago. "I am healing quicker than most as we speak. I don't need them really anymore. I'll be leaving soon anyhow. Tell me, why do you suppose you should be the olefin my position? Everything that I do has a reason and a purpose. Shinji explained as he looked around the room. "I saved took your place for multiple reasons. Then most important though, is the fact that I had a better chance of survival than you." Shinji finished. He didn't mean to sound rude but he only spoke what he really felt.

Faye watched as he moved, he winced with every movement, and it made her cringe herself. "You shouldn't move, you'll heal faster if you don't move." As he was moving she heard him mumble something. What was that he muttered? Shinji? Was that it? What was- OH his name! Shinji was his name. She finally knew the guy's name. She saw him give a slight grin, and it amazed her how he could even smile at such a painful time.

When Faye went to go get the nurse Shinji stopped her. He said that he didn't need anyone and he was so sure that he'd be leaving soon. How, Faye thought? He said he had a way of healing faster than usual.. how was that possible? Well, they were on this island, it felt like anything was possible on this island. After all, if there wasn't something different about him, why would he be here? He was right though, as sure as he sounded, he probably had a way better chance at surviving than Faye ever would have had. She probably would have died right on the spot.

Faye sat there thinking for a few minutes, should she wish him well and leave? Or should she stay. In all honesty she couldn't bring herself to leave, and although he seemed annoyed at first that she was here, he wasn't telling her to leave either. She took the book that was still in her lap and put it in her bag, and scooted her chair closer to the bed. "I know I said this, but I really just wanted to see if you were okay." She paused, looking at him. To be honest, I'm not a people person, and not use to conversing. I don't understand what go into Dante that day, and I will probably never know. I went to look for him, but each time was back to ground zero he never showed up."

She looked up at him, "I can leave now if I'm bothering you?"

Shinji sat up in his bed. He was still in pain but he put that off to the side for the tie being. Obviously this girl, Faye, is worried about Shinji or has some questions foreign or something. Otherwise she never would have came to see him. Maybe they had some significance in one another's life or something. Shinji's face was kind of straight and expressionless now as he tried to stay neutral in his emotions. He would rather not show how much pain he was in Southgate wouldn't worry unnecessarily, but he also couldn't show as much happiness as he would like sue tin the pain he was trying so hard to hide. Faye had suggested to him to blue down a and not move since he would heal faster but hey, he has no problem with how he was now. He was grateful that he was able to heal this fasting the first place, plus there was no better time to get off his butt and start moving around. It'll help him greatly when he tries to get used to his scarred body.

Faye explained again that she just wanted to see if Shinji's was alrighty she felt it rude that she dint even know his name. But in all actuality, she was perfectly fine :/ how she acted. She also tried to go find Dante outbid the wilderness, but furthest? He didn't seem like the type if guy who would listen to any one on his actions. "I don't think you should worry about him too much. He can take care if himself. Though he will get his eventually." Shinji's said as he looked off to the side. He was wondering though how long he had been in the hospital, seemed like only hours to him.

Shinji looked to Faye with a brighter expression than before. He hadn't felt too much pain in the past few minutes since he hadn't moved so he was able to let his happier emotions get to the surface. "I don't mind you staying if you, but u won't stop you from leaving if you so desire. I understand why you came and I can assure you that I am perfectly fine and there is nothing to worry about in this department. Shinji's grinned a little at thus and kept eye contact with her. His blue eyes seeming to glow with the contrast if the room. It could be considered creepy but at the same time beautiful how his eyes looked and reacted to his current setting.
