Student Admission

Devias had met a new arrival at the docks, and after taking her to a place to eat and show her a little portion of the park so they could talk about the school, they went to the school to have her checked in. He had learned that she wasn't a student yet, and since she was alone and didn't know her way, Devias decided to accompany her.

While it would have been a good idea to show her around the campus, she expressed exhaustion and wanted to get to a dorm. However, since she wasn't enrolled yet, Devias instead took her to the administration wing. "Have you been to school before? Because if you have, then you can continue where you left off here. Alternatively, you can take an entrance exam to see which grade you'll be placed in."

By the time they arrived, it was past 2pm. The admissions officer should be available now.

"Insult? No, it wasn't." Devias raised an eyebrow in confusion. Did he say something that offended her? "If you have a letter, then the admissions officer will know what to do. I wish I could tell you, but I came here to enroll my cousin and myself."

Devias stopped in front of the door with a plaque that read "Admission Office." He knocked a few times and opened the door once someone said 'Come in.'

Some personal information might be discussed, and for the sake of privacy, I'll shall wait outside. The officer will know what to do and what you need.

"I don't mind. I shall wait for you here," he said with no trace of regret in his voice. When Devias coordinated with the school the first time he was here, there were some language troubles. Yes, the school had spells to eliminate the language barrier, but the Void-charged blood running though him rendered it ineffective.

Fortunately, this was a problem that plagued plenty of expeditions to other worlds, and so solutions were made.The one he used, he needed some help with from someone working in the archives to grant him this world's tongue. It took a while to get used to, but he spoke as if he was born here.

When the language barrier was no more, setting up their enrollment took only a couple of minutes, although that may have been because he needed to finish the documents needed when they actually came to study a year after making arrangements.

This time, it didn't take that long. Or at least he didn't feel that it was that long. He was sketching something in his notebook, taking an interest with a small ladybug that was now crawling at the edges.

He noticed a yawn and turned to look to Caspian, who possibly just came out of the office. "I trust everything went smoothly?"

"I can assist with the equipment you need. As for the dorm, didn't they assign one to you? Did they run out of rooms?" Sleeping in a tree never goes well, especially in a world you're very much new in. The thought didn't sit well with him at all, but there was little he could do about the situation, barring some suggestions.

"You may be able to rent a room for the night in the city. I believe I have seen a couple of places near the school. We can try there."

Devias couldn't agree more, she definitely looks like she needs the rest. He nodded to her. "It'll be my pleasure. Would you like me to create a portal there?" He wanted to make sure before he opened one because if he did she would want to take it only to not make his efforts in vain, at least that's how he saw it.

She definitely seemed tired, and getting there fast would be the better option, however that was up to her what she wanted to do. Devias had nothing he had to be doing for the rest of the day, so he had no problem with accompanying the girl, especially since she looked like she was about ready to call it quits and sleep already.
