"Heh, thanks. I will."
And that was that. Nix tugged his overly-stuffed suitcase into his room (which was, admittedly, awesome). It had a lotta space, honestly, which Nix found really convenient.
So here he was, roommates with a student government runner, fellow Californian, and fellow pyrokinetic - actually, they really WERE similar in a lot of ways. He laughed in the sudden quiet of his room. Maybe it wasn't a coincidence.
He couldn't really gauge Havoc's opinion of him off the bat. They guy wasn't very expressive, he could tell that much. No laughing at his puns - not even a reaction. Huh. Not even a smile, as far as Nix could tell. That was fine, though - he could appreciate that. Some puns were just... not funny. Admittedly, some of his were, although he hoped that most of them were of the opposite. Gotta make people laugh somehow, right?
"'Ey, Havoc! D'you, uh, mind explaining the whole shared area deal?" He poked his head out from his room for a second. "You got any habits I need to know of, like... uh, where you put your stuff? So I can uh, stay outta your way and such like that. Make living with this comedian -" he pointed to himself with a smirk " -easier."

Havoc was, in a great many ways, the very best roommate you could ask for. He was neat, tidy, did his share of the chores, and kept normal hours.

Well, mostly normal.

"Anyone can use the shared area as you please. You can't have people here after eleven without signing them in with the school, and you aren't supposed to be noisy during exam periods," Havoc said, laying out the rules as he remembered them.

Havoc didn't really have anything in the shared area. He had a few things in the kitchen, already in place, but not much in the way of personal effects. Being part of the military did that, after all.

"I wake at six," Havoc pointed out. "Which I've come to understand is extremely early."

"Mmmhmm." Nix noted these rules down in his head, and then, thinking better of it, noted them down on his phone - so as not to forget them later, as he knew he would. "No people after eleven without sign-in... no noise during exams.... Yeah. Uh. Wow. Yeah. Six is pretty early for a college class, but uh... Pretty good schedule to be keepin' y'know. Wish I could keep one like that. Uh.. any set time you get to bed? Anything I gotta avoid doing - uhm, that gets on your nerves and stuff?" OH! Right. "Hey, I spotted a coffee machine at a store nearby - d'you mind if I set that up in the kitchen? Won't take much space, promise."

"Eleven," Havoc asked without pause. Eleven to six gave him seven hours of sleep, which was the exact amount of time he'd found he needed. He could sleep through almost anything, and he could get to sleep in the blink of an eye.

"No, not really," Havoc added. "It's unlikely anything you'll do will bother me." He was astoundingly difficult to bother, after all. "You can set up a coffee machine if you'd like, and do as you please. I only ask that you don't enter my room without permission."

Which was probably a safe bet for anyone, only Havoc was used to sleeping in open bunks, not in an enclosed room.

"Six to eleven... Sweet. Okay. No going in your room without permission - that's a common sense, man." He grinned. "Anyways, uh... I might uh, stay up later than eleven sometimes... So uh, yell at me if I get really loud, okay?" He quickly ran through the options in his mind - nothing really bothered him, aside from - oh. "Yeah, uh... Please don't mess with my coffee. I uh, I go berserk without it. Heh. But um, other than that, feel free to do whatever, I guess." It was kinda comforting to know that he couldn't really bug Havoc - that Havoc wouldn't really get mad a t him. Which was another thing.
"If I go too overboard on the puns, stop me. Wouldn't want ya to be annoyed or anythin'."

Havoc wasn't going to yell if Nix got loud. Havoc had been in the army, and unless Nix was setting off a literal canon, he really wasn't going to bother Havoc.

"You wouldn't annoy me," Havoc pointed out. "With puns or otherwise."

If nothing else, that was definitely his strongest point as a roommate. No matter what Nix did, he wasn't going to bother Havoc, and Havoc was so low key that he was unlikely to bother Nix either.

"And I'll leave your coffee alone. Are you going to finish unpacking?"

@Ashes - wrapping up? Any interest in an election thread of havoc doing election stuff?

"Yeah, i'm gonna start, uh, settling in. I'mma yell if I need any help. Okay? Good luck on elections, by the way." And with that, Nix popped back into his room, not another word as he started to unpack his things.

@Romi - Sure. I can wrap the thread up, and yeah, I'm totally up for an election thread - Nix is big on sales, bombastic he is. He'll do his best to help out. Might throw Aswan in there to compete against Havoc though >:D
