Havoc's powers had been expected to remain fire based, but the march virus had other plans. Rather than leaving him with a single power to focus on, Havoc had found himself with two... and the second was far harder to control.

Fire had come easily. Fire was destruction given physical form. He could use it to shield himself, or to cause harm. He'd had a lot of people tell him that fire didn't need to be destructive, as if that was weighing him down, but it never had. He was fine with it being primarily offensive. He was used to doing things on his own. He didn't need powers that would help him do anything.

Only now he had just those. He could move objects around with his powers. He could do... other things. He wasn't entirely clear what other things, but he was sure there were things he could do that he hadn't thought of yet.

Creativity was not his strong suit.

However, being direct and asking for advice was. He knew there was some kind of wind (air?) spirit in one of the high school classes, and so he'd gone out of his way to head towards the power classrooms after his own training was done, waiting outside the door.

He was at least fairly well known, having previously been the student council president and still serving as the vice, but perhaps he was most well known for his demeanor. Blank expression, blank demeanor. He might as well have been a marionette, dressed in plain clothes and left to stand in the hallway and wait for something that looked like a wind spirit.

(air.)

Sky rolled his eyes as the teacher for the lesson said the words 'Class dismissed', and turned to leave the room. Due to the fact that around twenty other students were trying to leave at the same time as him, he allowed his body to dissolve into wind and easily flew straight into the hallway, where he twisted himself back into a physical form. Looking to his left, Sky noticed that a man appeared to be waiting near the door, a completely blank expression on his face as he... Searched for something? Shrugging, he continued on, absent-mindedly collecting tiny wisps of water vapour and a breeze into a very small whirlwind, which he set down in the palm of his hand as he walked

It was a safe bet that the literal whirlwind that came through the door was probably the air elemental he was looking for. Havoc paused for a moment, his eyes trying to track the wind as it moved, before it abruptly became a person again, carrying on down the hallway.

Well, alright.

Havoc started off after the figure, wondering what were they supposed to call them. Normally a name would have been helpful, but all he'd been told was 'air elemental'.

So instead he sort of cheated, using his own power to disrupt the small whirlwind in the figure's hand. He knew it would have gotten his attention if their positions were swapped, and as far as Havoc cared to think, he simply assumed it would be true for Sky as well.

A sudden disruption of the local airspace, or more specifically, the tiny whirlwind that he had formed, was enough to catch the attention of Sky. Natural instincts kicked in and a small shell of wind formed around his tiny creation, easily knocking away the weaker magic that he assumed somebody had created in order to get his attention. Turning around, his suspicions were confirmed when he saw the person waiting at the door now walking behind him. A flick of his finger dissipated the twister in his palm, and he walked over to the other person.

"I'm gonna assume that you were the guy who just did that, so what do you want?" It was rare for people to approach him in that way, so Sky assumed it wasn't just to ask him where the next lesson was or something dumb like that

Had he upset him? Possibly. Generally what do you want was not a good question to be asked, but Havoc had a notoriously bad time reading people and trying to figure out what it was they felt. Most of the time it didn't matter. People were polite to the end, and that generally meant that even if they were upset, they wouldn't let them bother him much.

"I came for advice, now that you're done class," Havoc said, offering his hand for the courtesy handshake he'd become accustomed to making. "I understand you're an air elemental, and was hoping for assistance since it's obvious your own powers are much superior to mine."

He wasn't trying to be flattering, even though it probably was. Appearance-wise Havoc was the older of the two, even if Sky actually was a good deal older than him.

Sky shrugged. "Ten thousand years of practice tends to do that to a guy," he remarked, shaking the hand of the man. "The name's Sky. And if you need training, I guess I could help. I don't really have anything better to do for another few hours." Havoc appeared to have the magical aura of the fire spirits he knew from home, but there was a definite difference. Whatever granted him this power was definitely biological, although figuring out what exactly it is was impossible from aura along

As the person himself went, he looked a lot older than Sky on a physical level, around 22 or so, with a neutral look on his face accompanied with a large scar. This person had quite obviously fought before, which was relatively rare among humans. As destructive as they were, the number of them which actively attacked was a large minority

Ten thousand years of practice? The boy didn't look like anything other than a boy, but Manta Carlos was misleading like that. You could have immortals that looked ten or three year olds who looked like adults. Sky's circumstances mattered little to Havoc though, and he didn't press for information on how that all worked.

"It would be appreciated," Havoc said. "There are free rooms down the hall we could use without needing to be booked." Some would be in use, but some would be free, and Havoc was more than happy to push the conversation on without having to deal with smalltalk. He was, however, polite enough to introduce himself before taking advantage of Sky's kindness.

"My name is James Havoc - I'm the -"

Havoc faltered for a moment, and the corrected himself. "The student council vice president. I'm part of the scout course." Neither of those things had been true only a few weeks ago, but Manta Carlos moved quickly.

"And I'm a ten thousand year old city destroying thing," Sky replied in turn to the mention of Havoc's position on the student council. Peering into the room next to him, he made a quick flick of the hand, and the door swung open. "I think this one is free, we can probably head in here. Anyway, what exactly do you need help with?"

Havoc probably should have blinked at the confession. Whether because Sky had just admitted to being ten thousand years old, or because he'd just admitted to destroying cities. But Havoc didn't. He pretty much assumed that almost everyone on the island was some kind of country-destroying supernatural menace, brought to heel by simple force of will by the administration.

"I am a pyrokinetic," Havoc said. "That was what I was brought here and trained with. However, in march my powers... mutated. I can control air now, as you saw, but my power classes are over, and my control still isn't as fine as it is with fire. Asking the advice of someone far more experienced then I was seemed ideal." Simple enough logic. Havoc had no problems asking for help from someone better than he was, even if the person in question looked like his junior.

He followed Sky into the room, a nice open space without too much in the way of interruption. "Any advice would be appreciated."

Sky tilted his head slightly in curiosity, saying "So you have some control over fire as well? Interesting. Anyway, air manipulation. Honestly, giving advice isn't all that easy, because, you know." Sky's body flickered out of existence, reappearing a few feet to the left. "It's sort of first nature for me. How it would feel for a human, I'm not sure."

"But it's more about allowing it to do what it wants, letting it direct you more than you direct it. Myself and the wind both don't like control, and trying to force your ability to do what you want will never grant the best results. Which, as I can tell, you can't be all that good at. It's completely different from fire and earth, which you have to force into line and impose order. As opposed to ordering, you have to do something more like asking the air to help you, and it's all dependent on how you ask." Sky shrugged, floating around a foot into the air. "I mean, most of this is assuming stuff. It works like one big appendage for me, and I'm sure it doesn't do so with yourself. Most of what I just said is going off how I feel, personally."
