Glib was excited for lunch. He'd been waiting all day to see if there were any new foods for him to see. He was so excited that he bolted to the lunch line, accidentally moving through another student covering them in slime. The student shouted at him, "Hey! Watch where your going!" But Glib was to excited to notice. He finally made his way to the line, and when he went to see the foods available for choosing he was happy to see a new food. It was two round slices of bread, one slice had what looked like seeds on top of it, while the middle held a circle of some meat, and a square slice of cheese. Along with that he grabbed a small salad cup, apple slices, and a little carton of milk. Glib went to the first empty table he saw and began studying the new sandwich-like object, finding out the shape, texture, size, and weight of it. He made sure to get all the details he can that way when he changes his shape he can perfectly mimic it. He studied for about 5 or so minutes before remembering he had other food. Quickly he put the other foods into him absorbing them. As he absorbed the food into his mass he got about an inch or so taller. He quickly focused his attention back to the new food though continuing to look at it and its features. Unfortunately though the bell rang ending lunch and that means he would have to get rid of his new food. He wanted to keep studying it though so instead of going back to class he took it and preserved it in his body instead of absorbing it. Glib then went outside to study his new finding in the courtyard.

Being that it was her first day at Starlight Academy, Cedar mostly just followed the flow of traffic, which led her to the cafeteria. She was about to step out of the line when a plastic tray was shoved into her arms. "Um, hi," she started to say to the first lunch lady, "I don't--"

"Keep the line moving," the hair-netted woman announced.

In the end, Cedar had a tray full of organic matter, which was of no use to her. She was about to toss it into the trash when she saw a fellow student who had literally absorbed his food in a matter of seconds.

Cedar raced after him through the door outside. She hoisted up her tray, still walking beside him. "Hey, do you want this? I think it's a corn dog. They gave it to me and I don't need it." She gestured to her mechanical torso and laughed.

Glib looked to the girl offering the corn dog. He took the cheeseburger out of his mass and grabbed the corn dog. Holding the corn dog he absorbed it through his hand. It could just barley be seen through his translucent body as it disintegrated along with the stick.

His attention then shifted back to the cheeseburger staring at it intensely for a moment or so before finally bringing it back into his body and absorbing it. After that was all dealt with he looked towards the girl happily. Of course the only indication of his happiness being his eyes. He then hugged her as a thank you for the food.

Something felt different though when Glib made contact though. She felt unusually cold.

Cedar's eyes widened, and she froze for a moment at the unanticipated hug. It made her realize, though, how alone she'd been feeling since the accident. Not that she was actually alone, but she felt there was a distance between herself and others... until now. He carried a sort of innocence, like a child.

"You're very welcome," she said, nodding. "I'm Cedar. I think we're in the same grade. What's your name?"

She looked up and down his person, trying to figure out what he was. If there was one thing Starlight Academy offered, it was diversity.

Glib stared at Cedar still confused a bit from the unusual coldness, but quickly snapped back to normal when she asked what his name was. He stood there for a moment before a mouth formed on his face. He then said name. "M-m-y-my n-name Glib." He sounded like he was struggling to talk or like someone who was just learning to. "Wha-why b-bo-dy so col-d?" He looked confused, which was a lot more easier to tell now that he had a mouth.
