Smoothie The Path For This Useless Lesbian

Jii was simply a fuzzy little bundle of nerves and general worry as she awaited Chloe's response to the message she'd sent. To her relief, she seemed quite amused by it, and Jii soon found herself giggling along with her; Chloe's humor was literally infectious for her. She couldn't help but let out a somewhat louder laugh at the fact that Chloe had apparently been in synch with her, prepared to propose the exact same thing.

She took a few moments to collect herself, setting her phone down finally and looking sheepishly up to Chloe instead of tapping away at the screen. "I, um, yeah, I guess we were...I mean, it was cheesy, yeah, but..." She trailed off then, gently biting the inside of her cheek to shock herself into just spitting it out. "..I mean, it was funny, but I wasn't joking." Her gaze met Chloe's rather bravely on her part, and she managed to hold it there for essentially the first time since they'd arrived here, despite how her heart was pounding like a war drum in her chest, and the light shivers of anticipation setting her fur on end.

Jii shook her head gently as Chloe posed her question, sipping more purposefully than before at her smoothie. "I guess it wasn't really all that hard...I'm just excited and maybe slightly terrified that you said yes."

It was true enough that the two girls weren't necessarily the closest , but nonetheless Jii had known her since not long after arriving here and had very much enjoyed talking to her when she did. That of course went without mentioning that she very much found her physically attractive; this fact was reinforced by her slight tenseness when Chloe put her arm around her. She relaxed mostly after a few moments and scooted in a little to lean on her, sighing contentedly. "It's...really nice so far. I hope it goes on for a while...oh, and sorry about the sweat."

Chloe's joking comment about biting, or rather not biting earned a small but decidedly nervous giggle from Jii, and she sipped once more at her smoothie, a small, dreamy smile on her face. "W-well, um, I'm not sure I'll be asking for any bites, but that's good to know." Still leaning her unremarkable weight on Chloe until she asked the question about her aging, Jii sat back up and tilted her head curiously, one ear twitching a little.

"Oh...pixan aging?" She had in fact taken note of some differences between her species and humans in this regard, but it hadn't crossed her mind all that much. "Well, uh, as far as I can tell our overall lifespans are similar, but we mature a little bit faster. Like, when I turned fourteen and had my blossoming ceremony, I technically started being considered an adult. That's when I got this." She leaned back and lifted up the bottom of her shirt to expose her belly, gesturing to a silver and emerald navel piercing there. "I guess, um...I'd be something like seventeen and a half, roughly? Maybe eighteen? It's kind of hard to say, exactly."

Jii quirked a brow at Chloe and continued sipping her drink, now nearly two-thirds gone. The suddenness with which Chloe seemed to be more at ease was a little surprising. She blinked at her a few more times, setting the cup down and swinging her feet under the table. Thankfully, before she had time to start overthinking too much, Chloe gave her something else to think about.

"Oh, the piercing, yeah. I really like it, honestly. I think it looks pretty nice. I'm, um...I'm sure that you'd look really nice with one." Another small, sheepish smile, her ears flattening once more as she fumbled for her smoothie to sip at it, cringing when it started making the telltale slurping noises of a nearly empty cup. "So, can I ask...you seemed suddenly pretty relaxed there, a second ago. Was something wrong before, or...?"
