Rory wasn't tired. She should have been, but she'd long since gotten used to her lack of physical exhaustion. What she hadn't gotten used to was practically flying about. It wasn't full-fledged flight — not yet — but there was an ease with which she soared from place to place. Wall to wall. Ground to the roof. She'd done parkour since her pre-teens and she'd been good at it, but this was inhumanly good. This was moving quicker than she should have.

What was more interesting to Rory was when a bold of pure magic fired her way. She steeled herself and the magic struck her chest with the sound of a firecracker, but Rory didn't fly backward.

In his moment of surprise, she lunged forward pushing into him to kick his feet out from under him, grab the back of his head, and smash his face into the ground. She held back just enough that he didn't die, but his nose would be a fucking mess.

When she stopped and looked at Broen, Rory spoke in a voice that hardly sounded like her own, "don't let them run." Because that's what they were doing right about them. The remaining two were running. Smart move, but not one that would bear fruit.

"Don't worry, gorgeous. Nobody runs from me." Broen teleported ahead of the two, leaning casually against the wall and looking at his gloves like he was inspecting his fingernails.

They held up their phones and shot more magic at him, but Broen twisted in ways that his body legitimately should not have to dodge. His hands held him up as he untwisted himself, using the momentum to kick both men backwards.

Walking after them as they scrambled away, he caught up to one and stomped hard onto his collarbone. "Dumb fuckers."

He grew until he was almost tall enough to block the whole alleyway. Leaving the last guy only one option. He'd have to run into Adrastia.

"You want the last chicken wing? I insist."

When the man came at Rory, he fired two bolts of magic in rapid succession. Rory dodged them and stepped into his side, grabbing his wrist and crushing it.

The next thing he should have done was drop the phone, but he didn't. He grew. Body snapping, shoulders hulking, and in less than a second he was a beast of a creature. Not a werewolf, he didn't have a snout. But he was something with big teeth, eyes too small, and a tail like a whip. Nearly as big as Broen.

No. Not a werewolf. Not with a tail covered in thorn-like metal spikes that gave the sound of thunder when it struck out against one of the walls.

Rory ducked in time not to have her throat torn out as the tail zipped passed her. His wrist fixed itself and he yowled in a way that shook the ground they stood on.

"Oh... Oohhh" was what Broen managed when the guy turned into... whatever the fuck he was. He wanted some of that action. He could already hear Rory. 'Broen, no,' she'd say. Well, fuck that.

"Broen, yes."

He teleported onto the creature's back, using a slit in his glove to get that sweet, sweet skin contact. "You're a big fucker. Let's see what you can do, bitch."

The creature bucked hard, whipping it's tail around and hitting Broen several times across the back. Fortunately, he couldn't even fucking feel it and his wounds we're stitching up fast enough that he wasn't even bleeding.

Broen held on whole the thing bucked, using his weird contortion to keep a tight grip on it. "Yippie Ki Yay, motherfucker!"

Rory snorted when Broen jumped onto the things back and responded before she could even comment. Fuck him for knowing what she was going to say. "Dammit, man," she laughed.

But this thing was distracted by trying to get Broen off of it. Its nose was concave, so Rory couldn't thrust a hand upward and strike there and its eyes were too small to strike at. It had thin fur and hardened leather skin under that.

But everything had a weakness. Rory didn't go high. She went low. To his digitigrade legs, where she thrust a foot out with all her strength to break his ankle.

"Timber!"

"You better move!" Broen said as the whole thing started to collapse. He himself went flying, bouncing off the pavement several times and slamming into a wall. Fuck these powers were great. But he wanted to see how the other half lived.

He started to shake, sweating hard under his helmet. His clothes seemed to melt into his body as he shifted, turning into a slightly sleeker, more agile version if the creature that was struggling to it's feet.

Before the change fully took over, as he knew it wouldn't let him talk once his head changed, he shouted at Rory, "Get your fine ass in the air!" Then to the creature. "Alright handsome, let's dance."

The two creatures clashed. Broen was obviously smaller and weaker, holding onto both power sets he currently had. But damn if he wasn't faster, with better healing to boot. It was probably like watching two big cats fight, up on their hind legs, or leg in the other guy's case and clawing the shit out of each other.

Rory couldn't have climbed the wall in the position she was in, nearly under this thing. But she leaped anyway and this time, she didn't just linger in the air, she drifted upward. Not as quickly as she'd have liked, but it was the same result nonetheless.

Rory clung to the apartments rooves, climbed until she could stand and look down at these monsters fighting. She sighed. Things were so much more diversified here. It actually wasn't bad in this context, but she had to make to have Broen covered in case he got on the losing end.

She sent Tib and Tabs in opposite directions. Tib to watch the opposite entrance of the alley, the one the lead to the street and Tabs to retrieve one of the cellphones from the ground. Rory had to meet Tabs halfway down to grab the phone.

Lorelai took careful aim once she was on the roof, looking down and waited until an opening presented itself.

It took a minute to get fully underneath the fucker, big as he was. But Broen still had his belt. He could be bigger.

And then he was, shooting up in size dramatically and flipping the fucker onto his back with the sudden change in mass. And then Broen was shrunk, barely the size of a doberman, running up the thing's stomach and whipping that barbed tail around it's neck like a noose.

Once he was good and struggling, trying to claw the tail around his neck, Broen shot a look up at Adrastia. She could do it from her vantage point.

Rory didn't need more of a queue than that. She fired off a shot. It bounced on the creature's forehead and dissipated in the air. Rory would have cursed at its ineffectiveness, but the force was still such that his head flew back, bounced off the pavement with a sick sound, and he went still.

Lorelai jumped from the roof, pulling back at the metaphorical reigns in her body to slow her fall until she landed softly on her feet. It was a bit of a struggle and she couldn't say it was graceful but it did as it was meant to.

"He's no--" and before Rory could even finish the question, the man groaned.

No. He wasn't dead. Just not feeling well.

Broen twisted and shook and looked like he was going to heave as he transformed back. God that part sucked. It didn't hurt bad. His other powersets dampened the pain. But it still sucked, knowing precisely how your bones we're breaking and reforming.

"Okay. I'll keep this one for a while and then probably get rid of it. Not as good as a dragon."

Standing up and cracking his neck, he walked back over to Rory and the man on the ground. "He's having a bad night."

It was about to get worse though. Broen hauled the beaten man onto his feet and pressed him up against he dumpster.

"Listen here, you piece of shit. Let your boss know, your drug dealing days are over. We won't let you pollute our streets anymore." His voice was deeper, with a gravelier quality than normal. "You got it, punk?!"
