The nurse washed off the baby, then wrapped it in a blanket and gave him to Andrew.
Andrew rocked his son gently back and forth.

After Aly was born, something went wrong. Adelina slipped out of consciousness, and was rushed off toward the emergency part of the hospital wing. A nurse walked over to Andrew, giving him Aly to take care of as well. "Prepare for the worst," she told him quietly. "She's unconscious and bleeding a lot. We'll do what we can, but please don't be surprised if we can't save her."

With that, the nurse can off to help the others to try and save the girls life.

Andrew bit his lower lip. He silently started praying. "Hi!" Dani called. She hurried over. "Where's Addie? Oh my gosh! They're so cute! Can I hold her?"
Andrwe put Aly in Dani's arms. "She's unconcious...and they don't know if she'll make it." His voice cracked.

October followed Dani. She smiled upon seeing Alyeria and Alexander; they were so cute, and they both looked really healthy. However, when Andrew mentioned that Adelina might not live, her face went pale. Adelina? Dying? It didn't seem possible.

"What did you just say?" the thirteen-year-old asked quietly.

Meanwhile, the nurses and doctors were working their hardest. It didn't look good, though.

Andrew didn't want to repeat himself. It was hard enough to say the first time. He handed Alex to October and started pacing anxiously. This couldn't actually be happening. It had to be a nightmare...

But it wasn't. Andrew sighed and ran his hand through his hair.

"She'll be alright." Dani said assuringly, though her voice was shaky.

October took Alex from him, and watched him as he started pacing. Her violet eyes were beginning to fill with tears, and she looked at the sleeping child in her arms to calm her self. She rocked him gently back and forth, but then the thought that Adelina may never get to do this popped into her head. Tears almost started falling, but she didn't let them. She'd be strong, if only for Andrew, Dani, and the babies.

She ignored what Dani said, just wanting to live in her own little world right now.

A while later, a doctor walked to where the three were, and sighed. "We've done all that we can," she said quietly. "Though we don't think she's going to make it."

As if on cue, little Alex woke up and started crying. A few tears rolled down the black haired girls cheeks, and she rocked Alex back and forth again. "It's ok, Alex. Don't cry," she said quietly.

When Alex started crying, Aly took that as her cue to start crying. Then Dani started crying. Andrew had been crying for a while now. "Can I go see her?" He asked quietly.

Dani sniffed loudly, though not intentionally. She rocked Aly gently, humming For Good from Wicked.

October began crying harder now. What was the use? They were all crying, anyway. The doctor nodded to Andrew's question. "Of course. She's not in great condition, but there won't be any harm in seeing her."

The thirteen year old nodded. "Hear that, Alex? We're going to go see your mommy," she told him quietly. The young female walked to where Adelina was, fighting not to cry when she saw her sister.

Adelina had an oxygen mask on, since couldn't breathe on her own. Her skin was pale from blood loss, and she wasn't conscious. It was like a horror scene to the thirteen year old; Adelina had never been in this condition.

Even in seeing her like this, Alex stopped crying, and reached out for his mother.

Andrew kneeled next to Addie and stroked her pale cheek. Dani and Aly sniffed pitifully at the same time. Dani felt so sorry for her brother and her niece and nephew.

Unfortunately, Adelina couldn't even feel his touch. October looked at her sister, and decided that it couldn't hurt for Alex to hold her hand. She knelt on the other side of her sister, and Alex immediately went for his mothers hand. As soon as he got one of her fingers, he squealed in delight.

October couldn't help but laugh quietly. It seemed like he knew this was bad, but being a child, couldn't help but act like one.
