Colette stalked down the hallway, eyeing the doors that she passed looking at the names on the doors very carefully so as not to miss a single person. She was on the hunt for a particular one and while she could find anyone else to speak to, there was only one name she was familiar with: Charlie Rotmoore, adviser to the club the reaper-wolf had recently joined. The brunette learned he was a lich, which meant he had answers that could possibly answer a few of her questions. She didn't particularly like the practice based on common knowledge, which was bringing dead people back to life, so she didn't actually want to name her practice as necromancy but the more Eric called her out for it, the more she felt curious about the craft. She at least wanted more information about it before she could make a solid opinion about it. Colette squinted as she went further down the hall until she found the right door where the name was in. She peeked in quietly, making sure not to make the door creek. There was no one else in the room but one person. She realize she didn't exactly know what Professor Rotmoore looked like -- if she would be honest, she would have thought he was a skeleton. It was better to ask. Approaching the lone person in the room, she asked, "Excuse me, sir, did Professor Charlie Rotmoore come to school today?"

Charlie jumped at the sound of the voice, and turned to face Colette. Luckily his glamour stayed solid, so as not to scare the poor girl. It was often he got unexpected visitors, anyone from students to teachers coming to visit for a cup of tea and a chat. But this was a new face in the menagerie that walked through his door.

Charlie enjoyed his visitors, they broke up the day. Some teachers and members of staff became irritated when people visited them during office hours, an unwelcome distraction from the task at hand, but when you didn't sleep, and pretty much lived in your office, you had plenty of time to work, for apart from an inclusion from a drunken Lochlann, his nights had been very uneventful. Charlie had currently been researching sentient books, whether a book could be made intelligent simply by its contents, after a comment by his friend, Clement Lamond. Enchanted books weren't that rare, but that was magic placed on them by others, not the book gaining sentience. He had been reading through his copy of The Book of the Returned, an ancient egyptian tome he had copied from papyrus to scroll, scroll to velum and finally, as time got to each one, velum to book.

"Erm, well I am Proffessor Rotmoore. But please call me Charlie." said Charlie, placing a leather bookmark between the pages of the book and setting in down on his desk. He looked at the girl momemtarily. He had seen her once or twice at meetings of the Hereafter club. She was a reaper... werewolf, he seemed to remember, assuming she was the same species as her brother Lucas, but was was her name... "It's... colette right? What's up?"

Colette had no room for embarassment, or to even show a single sign of being so by not being able to recognize the professor. Added the fact that the professor recognized her? Well, that certainly saved her the trouble of introduction and possibly having to explain her presence. The reaper-wolf beamed in confirmation. "Yes! Colette Surcadre. I'm a member of Hereafter, but I'm also doing personal research about Life and the Undead in general," she began, her tail wagging about with enthusiasm. Rustling through her satchel bag, she produced a note and pen from it, her grin unfading when she looked back to the professor. "I'm looking into details about resurrection and revival of the dead so I was hoping I could get a little interview about Necromancy from you? Would this be a good time?"

Charlie spotted the tail wagging as Colette asked. She would be awful at poker, he thought, with a tell like that. But he was happy. He loved when students showed enthusiasm for something, especially necromancy. It was interesting, a reaper showing interest in necromancy. In his experience reapers shied away from the practice, it being against the laws of the universe, breaking the cycle. It would be quite fun to learn another reaper's point of view on necromancy, for Charlie only had Shay's views to compare it too.

"I am somewhat of an expert in the subject" said Charlie, before waving a hand to one of the sofas, and sitting down on the one opposite "Please, take a seat."

"Sure, ask away, i'm happy to answer anything." he said, with a smile.

Colette pumped her fist subtly, quietly cheering for the opportunity given to her. She didn't seem far too concerned about anything else: the surrounding or the observation made by the lich before her. All she cared was new knowledge she could learn from the teacher. The reaper followed after Charlie, sitting at the spot she was gestured to with a slight bounce on the couch. It was a moment of childishness that was surely hard to miss, before she shifted into a more attentive sitting position towards Charlie, her notes held close to her. "Alright so, first off I want to know what is your perspective on necromancy and how do you define it? Is it limited to bringing back people as they were or something more loose like... zombies and such?"

Charlie watched as Colette bounded over, and sat opposite him. This was why I took up teaching, thought Charlie, to teach people like Colette, students eager to learn. He adored imparting knowledge, and although this often made him come across as a know-it-all, he still enjoyed doing it.

"Necromancy is an extremely broad definition. The word simply means 'death magic'." said Charlie with a smile "Under the umbrella of necromancy is such things as talking to the dead, channeling death energy to cause harm, such as draining life or causing rot and some even consider the act of reaping to be a form of necromancy. My particular specialty is what is flatteringly termed 'True' necromancy, the act of raising undead. Even this is broad. What I do is use my own soul and energy to reanimate bodies, but this can also be achieved through the usage of souls, or chemically, or even by using the power of nature, along with sundry other methods. But this can, yes, be boiled down to the term 'zombies'."

Colette scribbled on her notes some, away from the eyes of the teacher, as she noted down his response. The mention of reaping as necromancy piqued her interest, finding some ideas on her abilities which she could probably find useful later on. On the other hand: "Using your own soul?" she echoed, curiosity clear in her eyes. "Is it draining on you when you perform your magic? And if it is, sir, does your soul magic replenish or at a time? I hear some magic can be corruptive, and using soul magic seems dangerous for a normal individual?" she inquired. She could use souls of others to revive the dead, but she would have never used her own. She couldn't imagine the consequences yet and there was some risks she wasn't willing to take (yet) but she'd be willing to listen to some possibilities.
