Aside from the large black cat's ears on her head and her fluffy black tail, Silhouette looks like a normal human woman. She has an average (5'3") height and build, though curvy, with perhaps a bit more width to her hips than she'd like. Her skin is fair, though it has warm yellow undertones and tans easily. She has sky blue eyes and medium-length, slightly untameable, brown hair as soft as a kitten's fur. Silhouette's usual clothing choice is a school girl style with plaid mini skirts and thigh high stockings.
Shadow Cat Form - In this form looks like an average-sized black housecat, but made entirely of shadow, with no facial features.
Personality Description:
Silhouette is first and foremost a protector of children and genuinely cares about them, though like the rest of the guardians she may go about it the wrong way, not allowing kids the freedom to mature into adults. The fae tends to be a censor, judgemental of those who would expose a child to sex and violence. Much like a child herself in some ways, Silhouette is playful and innocent, not really interested in more adult activities, though not unaware of them. When caring for someone younger, she spoils them a bit, letting them play as much as they want instead of working, and letting them decide when to do things instead of a schedule. She's not irresponsible, aware that people need to sleep and eat, she won't immediately give those in her charge everything they ask for either, she's just not as strict as some might be.
Crafty, creative, clever, and curious. Towards other adults Silhouette is sweet and somewhat mischievous. Because she can be hyperactive herself, she is patient with excited, distractible people of any age. Outside of work and school, she enjoys making doll clothes when she isn't enchanting coats. One of the fae's biggest personality flaws is refusing to admit she was wrong, coming up with excuses for any action, though if she doesn't know something she will take steps to improve her knowledge and isn't afraid to ask questions.
Active Abilities:
Shadow Cat Shifting - Can shift instantly and at will to and from a cat made of shadow. Cat form can talk and still has senses, but can't touch or be touched, except to jump on non-living surfaces such as tables and chairs. Can walk through obstacles such as walls or people. Still injured by iron. Direct sunlight (overcast is fine) will make her change back.
Coat maker - without the magic of Underhill and the help of other fae, the most Silhouette can do is enchant a coat (must be a coat) she sews herself so that the coat never gets dirty, is tough as strong leather and tear-resistant, and is non-flammable. Iron would cut through the coat like butter and destroy the enchantment. She'd have to remake the coat from scratch to reenchant it, just patching the tear wouldn't work. Can make a coat every 2 weeks.
Passive Abilities:
Cat Affinity - She has cat ears and tail she has never learned to hide with glamour. She could hide her ears with a hat, but that would muffle her hearing. All her senses are at the level of a cat - sensitive to loud noises and strong smells. Quite flexible, on the level of a professional gymnast and a catlike sense of balance - she could walk across a tightrope as easily as a football field and always lands on her feet.
Crepuscular - Most active around dusk and dawn. Sensitive to bright lights, sees well in dim light conditions, but no night vision.
Decelerated Aging - lives ten times longer than a human, though they physically and mentally mature at the same rate as a human.
Weaknesses:
Unable to Lie - Cannot lie. While she doesn't always have to be honest, telling an outright lie will strip the magic she has and leave her powerless. If she gives false information because she was misinformed, this is not considered a lie. Must knowingly lie for her power to be stripped. Half truths are not considered lies. Having been in a society where lying was not common, she has a hard time spotting even a bad lie and she might miss out on sarcasm.
Fae Debts - Bound by the debts she makes. This includes thanking people. She is bound by a specific debt until it has been paid. Magic makes her agree to a request when she is bound, so long as the request is equal to the debt she owes. A single favor does not necessarily pay off a single debt. If you were to save her life, she is bound by magic to repay such a favor. Depending on what you do for her, it can be repaid in one to one hundred favors.
Iron Weakness - Like most of the Fae, Silhouette is weak to iron. Touching cold iron feels like a severe burning sensation and being around iron (like being locked in a cage of iron) is just constant, throbbing pain. It's enough pain that she would be on the floor, squirming.
Biography:
A fae guardian of the Lost Boy's Court in Underhill, Silhouette was one of the fae who helped make the coats given to the kidnapped human children. She was content in this, but after awhile she felt she needed to learn more about humans herself, as she wasn't one of the guardians that directly interacted them. When she arrived on Manta Carlos, she started taking child psychology at the college, and found it really improved her ability to help enchant the fae coats the times she returned to Underhill. So she decided to remain until she got her degree. When Safe Harbor Home opened, Silhouette got a job there as an intern, wanting to help children as best she could while away from her home. After nearly two years on the island, a child arrived wearing a coat she recognized. She made a quick trip back to the Lost Boy's Court and discovered that it had been taken over, barely able to get away. Realizing that Grey was still being affected by the memory magic, she offered to be the one to watch over him. At least she could protect this one child. Now she just needs to figure out how to remove the intruders and protect the rest.
