Silence...

The boy gulped again, fighting himself not to whimper. He nodded at her apology. "It.... it's ok..." he said quietly, still very afraid. He didn't understand how if someone woke up early they would be hyper, though... he knew he would have been tired... wouldn't most people be?

Je déteste les gens hyper.... Tristan mumbled. He couldn't help but go into French... it seemed both of them still needed to learn English better.

Damien shook his head at what his other self said about hating hyper people. "I.... I don't think I've ever been hyper...." he said quietly.

Dani raised her eyebrows. Everyone she'd ever met before had at least gotten hyper once. Except maybe October. She was pretty calm. "Really?" She said. "Well, that's interesting, I suppose."

The male nodded. It seemed everyone he knew had gotten hyper at least once... but he never had. Strange, really. He was silent, not knowing what to say, really. He had never been any good at talking to people, really. "So.... so um..." he began quietly. "You said you've been here a few months... what's this place like?"

Dani thought for a minute. That was like describing the sun-you really couldn't do it beyond "It's bright, and it's round, and it's hot."
"It's, well, it's kind of quiet, I think. I mean, it's hard to be by yourself, but it's not like going to public school, I suppose." She shrugged. "Sorry. That's a really bad explanation."

Damien listened to her explanation. It wasn't that great, but it would have to do for now. Besides, he supposed it would be kind of hard to describe a school. He was glad when she said it was quiet, however. He loved quiet, even if he could never really be alone and enjoy actual silence. "C'est... it's ok, I mean," he said with a nod. He then noticed the book in her hands. "Pardon me, but.. uh.... what are you reading?" he asked, just out of plain curiosity. Plus, it might bring about more conversation topics.

Dani's eyes brightened. Books is a good topic. She held it up slightly so he could see the cover. "Inkspell, by Cornelia Funke. Have you heard of it?" She asked.

Damien thought for a moment, then shook his head. "No.... no, I haven't..." he said. He wondered for a moment or two if he should stand up and actually walk over to a desk and sit down, but decided against it. He liked the floor. It was comfortable... and besides, the desks and chairs were so old he was afraid they would break if any weight was placed upon them.

"What's it about?" he asked.

Dani wasn't sure how to explain. "Well, it's about this girl who reads herself into another world. She didn't know how to explain beyond that, so she said, "What's your favorite book?"

Damien nodded. It sounded interesting. He blinked when he was asked the question himself... he had never been much of a reader, really. Although, he had read part of the book Les Miserables and liked it quite a bit. "Les Miserables by Victor Hugo..." he said. Oh, he was so happy that it was a French title. "Have you ever read it?"

Vous petit menteur... Tristan said.

"I'm not lying..." Damien said quietly, looking away from Danica for a few moments. "Be quiet!" He turned back to her, face red from embarrassment. However, he didn't know if it could be seen since his hair was covering most of his face.

Dani nodded. "A little. For English." She replied.
"Be quiet!"
"Well, gosh, I know I talk alot, but I didn't think it was THAT annoying..." she responded, completely confused now.
