Silence...

The boy laughed again. "Right," he said. "Though, I can control it somewhat. I don't think... that I'm going to just... randomly disappear." He offered a smile, but the smile immediately faded upon hearing what she said next. Oh, no, she had heard him talking to himself. This wasn't going to be good.

Ha HA!! You'd best learn to control your mouth, Damien, or she'll think you're insane, too!! Tristan laughed. Can't wait to see how you get out of this one...

"I... um..." Damien swallowed nervously. "I wasn't talking to you... when I said that..." he shook his head, hoping questions wouldn't be coming, but in a way knowing they most likely would.

Dani was puzzled slightly, but she just replied, "Oh. Right. I talk to myself sometimes." She didn't mention that it was generally only when she was trying to remember something.
"So. How long have you been here?" she asked, trying to change the subject.

He blinked when she said that she talked to herself sometimes. "You.... you do?" Damien asked quietly. Maybe he wouldn't be considered so weird here, after all... if other people talked to themselves, perhaps it wouldn't as strange as it had been before. It was hard not to get his hopes up, but he managed not to.

The boy was glad when she changed the subject. "C'est mon... I mean... it is my first day here," he said, glad he had caught himself before speaking too much in French. He wanted to get better at English, after all.

"You.... you do?"
"Yeah, I just think aloud sometimes." She explained.
"C'est mon... I mean... it is my first day here,"
"Really? That's cool. You'd think I'd know, 'cause I've been here for a few months, but like, I really don't know that many people. I'm just kind of anti-social." She half smiled. "I tend to ramble, too."

Thinking aloud? Oh, far different from his case. He doubted she actually had any voices... maybe he wasn't going to fit in much here, after all. "Oh... I see..." he said, almost as if in agreement. However, Damien knew he didn't agree, and it didn't sound like he did, either; he was a horrible liar.

He nodded when he said she was anti-social. "I kind of am, too..." he said quietly, but shook his head when she mentioned rambling. "No... not really..." But, then again, he hadn't known her for very long at all, so maybe she did.

Dani laughed dryly. "Just wait until I get going. It's almost impossible to stop me." He seemed sort of...dissapointed? At her comment about thinking aloud, so she decided to keep his focus on a different topic.

Damien blinked. "Really?" he asked. "Devrais-je être effrayé?" He tilted his head to the side, smiling a bit; he had obviously been teasing. Then he realized he had gone into French again, and sighed. "Should I be scared?" he translated for her, using the same tone of voice as he had before, hoping she wouldn't take offense to what he had said. He had only been joking, after all.

Tsk, tsk... Tristan said. Start thinking before you speak. She'll get annoyed if toy keep bursting into French.

The seventeen-year-old bit the inside of his lip. She had said she liked listening to French... why was Tristan sating otherwise? He decided he had best listen to him, though... thinking before he spoke would only improve his English, after all. "I... really am sorry... that I keep... going into French..." he said.

Dani shook her head. "Don't be sorry. French is awesome. Well, I mean, all that I know amounts to "Je ne parle pas Francais. Which is 'I don't speak French'. Wait, what am I saying? Of course you knew that. I mean duh, you speak French. Oh, that means you're from like, France right? Well, no duh! Like, what am I saying? Of course you're from France. I mean, people here generally don't have French as their first language. I mean, people that were born here. 'Cause yeah, generally we speak English. Of course someone from England would say that it's not proper Enlighs, but that's okay, I mean it's how we speak, and there's like nothing we can do about that." She took a deep breath.
She smiled. "And you should be very afraid." She nodded.

Damien gulped when he heard her. She really could go on and on, couldn't she? Alright, this frightened him somewhat... actually, somewhat was a lie. It frightened him greatly.

Shut that woman up!!! Tristan yelled. How can someone talk for that long?! HOW?!

Damien said nothing to his other self. As soon as she was done speaking, he was in shocked silence, but knew that he had to reply to some of what she had said. Most people might find what she had said amusing, but he had found it just plain scary. "Um..." he began, unsure of what to respond to first. "Y-Yes... I... I'm from France..." he told her. "And... um... yeah... I... I-I-I guess someone from England might say that..." He gulped again. That had been a lot to say... well, for him it was a lot to say.

"And uh... y-y-y-yes.... I... I'm afraid..." he said, not caring that it hadn't been a question, but just deciding he would answer her anyway.

Dani laughed. "I'm sorry." She said sincerely. "I woke up early this morning, so now I'm a little hyper." She paused."Maybe a lot hyper."
