Name: Silas Rosales
Age: 17
Birthday: December 17th
Gender: Male [He/Him]
Species: Human
Category: Student
Class: High School
Grade: 11th (Junior)
College Major: Planning on Photography
Appearance Description:
Silas is a quarter Korean, a quarter white, and half Central American, specifically from Belize. He's 6'2", his build is thin, but he's hiding some guns under that uniform jacket. He takes measures to work out consistently. His skin is a tanned brown, dotted with freckles, but not as dark as his mother's.
Due to his power, his eyes are a stark ruby red, and they tend to be a bit extra sensitive towards light. To resolve the issue, he has a signature pair of black aviator sunglasses that he wears at all times.
He has naturally dark brown hair, but bleaches it a silver/white color. The sides of his head are shaved with the top section long enough to pull back into a mini-ponytail. If he lets his hair down, which is usually how he wears it anyways, his fringe is parted to the side; it covers the shaved sides a bit.
He has a scar that runs from his left hip bone up to directly in the center below his left pectoral, starting out fairly straight and then curving towards the top. It’s the biggest scar he has on his body, and the thickest. He keeps it covered with his clothes and rarely goes around without a shirt on if he isn’t alone. He'd have to trust those people explicitly to be comfortable enough to do that.
He's got a jaw that could cut glass. His pierced ears are a little on the big side, and his brown brows are on the thicker side. His mouth is as big as his heart.
Personality Description: Not a lot of people take to Silas right after meeting him. He comes off as this insufferable "cool guy" with a ironic, nonchalant attitude, but it's just a wall to hide his true self. He likes to come off as easy-going and chill, but he's anything but. He constantly tries suppresses his emotions, which has led to brief fits of rage in the past. He's actively working on expressing his emotions as they come, but he's still not that good at it.
Behind all that, there's the real Silas. He's fiercely loyal and intensely dedicated to achieving what's good, no matter the means it might take to get there, even if it means breaking a few rules. Even if he's stony cool on the outside, he's typically a nervous mess on the inside, and anyone who knows him can pinpoint it by his constant chattering and excessive extended metaphors. He's always the one to joke about an awkward situation to try to make it less awkward, indirectly making it more awkward.
Essentially, he's a nervous goofball that's trying to be cool and suave.
An instant rage trigger for him is any topic related to his father. When he's upset, he quiets down, and that's when it's clear that something is really wrong. Seriously, the guy doesn't shut up.
Active Abilities:
A Skip Ahead: Silas can pick any date in the future and see a ten-minute glance into that day, as if he was living in that exact moment. When he comes out of the vision, he doesn't have a specific grasp on the past experiences or emotions that led him to that point, just a vague feeling of what possibly got him to that point. But he will remember exactly what happened in that ten minutes, second-for-second, for a day or two. Then the details start to fade a bit. He cannot control what 10 minutes of the day he sees, and it is always a consecutive flow. These visions typically take 2-3 minutes for him to see. The further in the future he looks, the stronger his migraine gets. He can look exactly one year ahead before reaching the point where his migraines make him pass out. Even one day past the one-year mark will cause him to collapse when he comes out of his vision.
A Step Behind: Silas can pick any date in the past, from the day he was born to yesterday, and relive the whole day. He can't change anything, it's just like his conscious replaying a memory detail-for-detail. He can simultaneously feel the feelings he had that day and observe everything in a third-person view. These visions can take anywhere from two minutes to an hour for him to relive. The further back he goes, the longer it takes for the vision to play out. Also, the further back he goes, the stronger his migraine is when he returns.
Regardless of seeing the future or the past, he can only look into time once every two or three days. This has changed as he's grown older and stronger, with the day limit dropping every few years. He's on the brink of being able to see a vision every day, but that's still a bit ahead of his time.
Passive Abilities:
Intuition: Silas has a sense that alerts him to immediate danger to himself or people he cares about. It's an instant gut-twisting feeling. The more intense the danger, the more intense the pain in his gut.
Weaknesses:
Matter Over Mind: His mind is slightly more susceptible to mental-based or mind-altering powers like telepathy, thought intrusions, thought projections, or straight-up mind control.
Common Magical Items: None.
Biography: His mother was a historian that gave tours at one of the Mayan ruins in Belize, Xunantunich to be exact. She fell for a tourist (Silas's dad), and later found out that she was pregnant. Silas never knew his father as a kid, but the man did make sure that the two were living comfortably. From the time he was born until he was eight years old, he lived with his mother and his grandmother in a spacious house in Benque Viejo del Carmen. He was an ordinary kid.
When he was six, his mother took him to the ruins after the tourism hours had closed. It was there that he saw the Stone Lady in White, the ghost that the ruins had been named after. But he didn't realize that she was a ghost. All he knew was that she had glowing red eyes. But that didn't scare him. She only appeared after his mother had gone back down the steps to retrieve something she forgot. Silas looked right at her, smiled, and told her that she was super pretty! The woman smiled and kneeled down, holding a hand out to him. Silas, having never met a stranger, happily swung his arms and closed the distance between them, taking her hand. It was freezing. The woman pulled him close and pressed a kiss to his forehead. Her cold flesh suddenly burned against his skin. His head felt like it was about to split open, and he let out a blood-curdling scream.
And suddenly, everything was different. They were in the same temple, but... everything looked less broken. The air was thick with smoke, and firelight lit up the night. The woman was there, but her white gown was being removed, and she was being painted blue. Men with bows and arrows stood at the ready.
Silas watched for ten minutes. A man dressed in a lot of clothes grabbed a knife, and that's when it all ended. He sucked in a choked breath, and there was his mother, holding him close, shaking him a bit. She screamed when she saw his rusty brown eyes now a vicious red.
His grandmother was the one that helped cultivate his powers over the next two years. His mother was at a loss, but his grandmother oddly knew exactly how to train with him. Being a young baby, Silas never questioned it.
His mother died when he was eight, right before his ninth birthday. And his grandmother was too old, too frail to take care of him. That's when his father finally came into the picture. A half-Korean man with too much money in the middle of Florida.
However, it was his dad that suggested he go to Starlight Academy. Apparently, he was a long-time donor for the school. It was his dad that shipped him off to some godforsaken island without so much as a pat on the back. Silas figured he didn't want to deal with his son anymore, not that he dealt with him anyways.
Silas was happy to go to a school that could teach him more about himself and also where he could meet people like himself. And he was happy to get away from his father.
Resources: Silas's father made sure that he would be more than set money-wise. Silas has a bank account with about $900,000 just sitting there, collecting dust. He doesn't like using his father's money unless it's for essentials. It's just the principle of the thing.
He managed to bring a motorcycle to the island with him. His father practically demanded that he stay in the school dorms, at least for the rest of the school year, before he could move to his own place. He pays full price for everything for the school.

Silas's dad was a very important man with his fingers in a lot of pies. His main income seemed to come from the porn company he ran. Silas wasn't entirely sure what all that entailed, but he knew that his dad was some kind of porn star on top of it all. He at least had the sense to never bring any of that work around Silas. He also ran an entertainment company and a magazine. Needless to say, he was never around. Silas had to learn how to fend for himself. He had nannies and babysitters up until he was thirteen, but that's when he started to really take care of himself. He did his own laundry, he cooked for himself, he cleaned. One day his dad was there, and the next he had left a thousand bucks cash on the counter with a note for Silas to find about where he had set of to for the next month. There was so much Silas didn't know about his dad's work, so much he didn't know about his dad.
However, it was his dad that suggested he go to Starlight Academy. Apparently, he was a long-time donor for the school.
