- Rather short, standing at only 5'2", and very thin with few curves.
- Amber brown eyes that nearly appear golden.
- Thick, black, wavy hair, untamed and long, usually with a few random braids in it.
- Tattoos: Small tattoo of the constellation Cancer on the inside of her right ankle; a red and gold dragon on the back of her left shoulder, and below that, two crossed anchors; a swallow right below her collar bone on her right side.
- Cold, pale, almost peachy skin with a few very light scars across her body, on her arms, on her torso, on her legs, and a couple on her back. They're from her pirate days, but they're so old, they're very very faded.
- When going about her errands and just day to day, she prefers to wear relaxed clothes. Tees, tank tops, jeans, sneakers. However, for work and everything else, she is very business casual to business. Most of the colors she wears are earth tones, greens, and reds. She also loves thigh-high boots and heels.
- Her fangs are retractable, and usually tucked away.
Ariah is like a coin. On one side, there's the well-mannered, happy-go-lucky musician and composer that comes off as a very sweet young lady. She only acts like this when performing or listening to classical music or piano. It soothes her. It's a side effect of the hypnotism used on her by her Sire.
On the other side, the side that she's most known by, she's a free spirit unbound. She doesn't much care for rules, and she'll break them (and anyone) if they stand in her way. This often gets her in trouble or means she has to skip town.
No matter what, she'll do absolutely anything, kill anyone, pay anything, to protect those she cares about. But you gotta get past that prickly outside first. She's guarded and has high defenses, but it doesn't take a whole lot to break those down and get to her good side. Her first impressions tend to stick with her, and the grudges she holds can last well over 50 years. She can be stubborn, and it's hard to change her opinion of someone. But it is possible.
She's known to be a bit of a flirt, and she can be rather sultry at times. When she sees something (or someone) she likes, she goes after it.

Active Abilities:
Shape Shifting: She can take the form of a black cat, a cloud of mist, or a crow. In all of these forms, she retains her intelligence. In her cat form, she runs at normal speed, but in her mist and crow form, she flies at average bird speed. By shifting only her eyes to her cat eyes, she can see things in the dark and track prey and enemies easier than with her given eyes.
Turning: She can turn a person into a vampire by draining them of their blood almost completely and then having the person drink her blood.
Hypnotism and Suggestion: After maintaining eye contact for a few moments and concentrating really hard, Ariah has the ability to suggest subtle thoughts or emotions into someone's mind. She can also strongly influence that person to do or say certain things. Anything that goes against that person's typical morals has a significantly lower chance of succeeding (15%), as well as a 50% chance for that person to break the trance. This power isn't that strong since she rarely uses it, and she can only effectively use it on humans and half-humans. Ariah must be able to see the person's pupils for this to work.
Passive Abilities:
Vampiric Beauty: She is unnaturally beautiful (to lure in prey easier) and considered chillingly gorgeous by most. Even those not attracted to females can admit to her having a few desirable traits.
Scary Physique: She is able to lift up to 2 tons of weight. Anything past that, she struggles with. It's taken her years to realize her own strength and be careful of it, but sometimes she forgets and will accidentally break stuff. She can also run incredibly fast and has quite a bit of stamina. She can run 45 mph, but after a long run (a couple of hours), it can take her a day or two to recover enough to get up to that speed again.
Immortally Dead: She is unable to die from old age or sickness, but she can still be killed by a stake to the heart, being decapitated, or being incinerated. However, those with an immense amount of supernatural power (relatively known deities, for example) are able to kill her by other means. She has no need to breathe like a normal human, and she does not need to eat normal food. She does need sleep regularly, but only 4 hours or so a night (or rather, day).
Regeneration: Any wounds she comes across will heal twice as fast as normal, three times as fast if she consumes blood while she's injured, but the blood she drinks will go towards her wounds and not her stomach, so she has to drink extra to normally manage her thirst.
Weaknesses:
Feeding: She must drink about 2 liters of real blood a week (3.5 liters synthetic blood, 4.5 animal blood) to keep her abilities as strong as possible. She can go a max of 4 weeks without any blood, but she's incredibly weak at that point. One day more and she'll go into a bloodlust, losing control and draining whatever and whomever she can until she's sated. If restrained without any blood, she won't die, but she will wither into a monster with no humanity left.
Religious Staples: Holy water burns her skin to the touch, and it takes twice as long for those burns to heal as compared to normal. Crosses and rosaries give her a mild headache when she sees them. Being touched by them makes her extremely uncomfortable, itchy and squirmy.
Sunlight: When sunlight touches her skin, it's like a rapid sunburn. The longer she's out, the more she'll blister. If she's out for too long, she'll catch on fire.
Flames: Fire and fire magic do twice the damage they normally would, and fire can absolutely kill her.
Being Polite: She can't cross the threshold of a private residence unless explicitly invited inside by someone already inside.
Classical music: Because of her unruly nature, her Sire used hypnosis to put a lasting effect on Ariah that when she hears piano or classical music, she instantly settles down, even in the middle of a fight, and becomes rather complacent. Ariah doesn't know that this effect is because of hypnosis, and she's been conditioned to not mind the effect at all. In fact, she welcomes it, which is why she learned to play the piano. If she's struck or injured while classical music is playing, the effect breaks until she can sate her situational rage herself. Then it goes back to being effective. This effect could easily be broken by her going under hypnosis to negate the effects, but she doesn't think of it as a problem, and she doesn't know that she's been hypnotized.
Common Magical Items:
Simple Language Charm (Japanese): This is the standard language charm provided to most characters. It translates a characters mother tongue into English, and allows them to hear English as their mother tongue.

Ariah was born on Manta Carlos to the wife of an up-and-coming pirate captain. Her mother was French, but her father was Japanese. She was the spitting image of her father, but with longer hair. She helped her mother as much as she could growing up, fencing off her father's stolen goods. When she was 13, her father was captured and sentenced to death. With no more money coming in, she decided to take his place. She pretended to be a man and signed up to be a deckhand on a pirate ship, going by the name Akira. A lot of people could see her father in her face, and she proved herself to be just as fierce and terrifying. Within a few years, she had clawed her way up to first mate. It was through piracy that she learned to speak Chinese and Korean.
At 18, blessed with a flat chest and few curves, she still managed to get away with disguising herself as a man. She managed to collect quite a bit of treasure, which she always brought back to Manta Carlos. By 21, she started to slow her roll on the piracy thing. She had been nearly caught quite a few times. She often went for big prizes, then would take quite a bit of time off.
At 22 is when everything went south. Ariah and her crew came across a merchant ship from France heading to China. They planned their attack, and everything went horribly wrong. Her ship was destroyed, set ablaze. Her entire crew was killed. And though she could fool so many men for so long, there was one man on the merchant ship that immediately knew she was a woman. He took her captive.
She supposed it was better than being put to death by the authorities. But she had no idea what she was in for. She stayed as his prisoner for a couple of months, but she was very well treated. She was given a nice cabin on the ship, always had plenty of food and water, and clothes that accentuated what little femininity she had. She began to like her captor. Then, after a bit more time on the seas with him, she began to love him. She knew there was something unnatural about him. He was cold to the touch, and he had this authority about him that chilled her. He didn't eat very regularly, and he detested sunlight. When she found out he was actually a vampire, she didn't try to run. She offered herself to him to feed on. He didn't hesitate accepting the offer.
One night, the ship was once again attacked, but it didn't emerge the victor this time. Most of the crew was killed, and Ariah was seriously injured trying to help defend the ship. In a snap decision, after escaping on a rowboat, her lover turned her in hopes that she would survive. It was a struggle, but she did. They retired from sailing and piracy respectively, and they both settled down in France, with him under a new name and her under her real name. They soon got married after, and he taught her all the ins and outs of vampire society.
It wasn't exactly a healthy relationship, with lies, secrecy, fighting, and hypnotism. Most of the time, she still felt like his prisoner. But it was the only real relationship she had ever had. They struggled, but they struggled together. After her husband was staked by a vampire hunter in 1898, she fled with his fortune to the only place she could call her other home: Manta Carlos. She's been there ever since, living a quiet existence, sitting on his fortune and gently shaving it down over the years.
To this day, she'll respond to either Ariah or Akira, though select few know the details of her past as a pirate.
Resources: Ariah lives in a penthouse apartment. She has a small car that she drives around, not particularly fancy. The fanciest thing she owns is her piano. She still has a chunk of her late husband's fortune, transferred to cash that she keeps in a safe hidden in her apartment. She lives a comfortable lifestyle, but not a luxurious one. She has various investments that keep the money rolling in while she's not actively working.
