Rae felt the ball connect with her throat, even though she had tried to duck. Crouching over, she gagged over the impact, coughed and then tried to catch her breath.

"Um... oh noes.." He walked up to Rae, not incredibly concerned, and knelt down next to her. "Um.. sorry. I'm sort of new at this. Don't worry.. you'll be fine. I know it really hurts, but there won't be any permanent damage. It's a good move in a fight actually.." He went on explaining the move he uses against people when he needs to incapacitate them but not seriously injure them. It took about as long for him to explain it as it did for Rae to recover from the blow.

After Rae got her breath back--though her throat throbbed terribly--she straightened and stared hard at Paul. "Can I do that to you, then? I mean, as you said, you'd be fine." Then muttered, "No permanent damage done to me, but I'd do some to you."

"No," she said stiffly and walked back to the couch muttering, "Heartless, inconsiderate jerk." She sat down and after laying her head against the back of the sofa, rubbed her throbbing temple.

What's her problem?
Well.. you did hit her in the throat. But.. other than that, I don't know. PMS maybe?
I think it's a good thing you aren't in control right now, honestly.
What!?

"Uh.. I'm afraid I don't understand the situation. You appear to be upset with me for no reason. May you please explain? After all, if I don't know why you're upset with me, then I won't know how to fix the problem. Yes?"

"Quit asking me so many questions, please. You're annoying me." She sighed and looked at him, then mimicked, " 'Don't worry.. you'll be fine. I know it really hurts, but there won't be any permanent damage.' Then you slip off talking about some strategy you use while fighting, not even thinking that I might not even care about any of it." She coughed. "Get the picture now?"

Dangit Corona. Would you tell her its you so she isn't upset at ME!?
I don't even know what her problem is, honest!! And I thought I knew so much about humans and their emotions. How bothersome.

"No, not really. You appear to be taking anger out on me due to something that happened completely unrelated to what I have done. However, as far as I know, you weren't acting troubled all day. This makes me even more confused. I'm afraid I don't know what to say, because this whole situation doesn't make sense to me. I apologized for hurting you.. it's not like I meant it. "

Both of them had drawn some attention now. Some older kid stepped in front of him and told him to leave Rae alone, and that 'she obviously didn't want to deal with him right now.' Corona gave the kid a blank stare, even more confused.

"How rude. This subject has nothing to do with you. Why did you intrude?"

Rae looked at the boy and sighed. "Thanks, but I'm fine. He's just stupid and...thanks anyway." She waited for him to leave before looking back at Corona, whom she still thought was Paul. "Just, nevermind. It doesn't matter. You're sorry; I forgive you. End of story."

"Well, that's quite the anti-climactic end to such a situation. And I'm not any less confused. But.. just in case, I'm not Paul. We switched before the game began, because Paul figured I would be a lot better than you are. Unfortunately, I never even heard of the game before, let alone have any experience playing it. I truly am sorry."

You didn't have to tell her that we switched so I could win! Grr..
It would be kind of obvious anyways. You asked me to tell her it was me that hit her, so I did. One would assume from that information that we switched before the game began, and that it may have been due to your fear of losing once more.
